507. Bears RECRAP - Burdened With Glorious Purpose - Bears 30, Patriots 24 - Pointless Exercise Podcast
2026/10/23
The Bears and Patriots gave Prime Video an actual good game. Luther Burden went off in the first half. Rome Odunze made clutch plays in the second half, and Cairo F'ing Santos made the longest field goal by a Bear in the history of Soldier(s) Field to ice it. Caleb Williams makes all the difference. And you know what? Drake Maye's pretty good. Insights like this and more as Schlitz Beer presents the Bears RECRAP.
506. Bears RECRAP - Welcome Back - Bears 31, Falcons 23 - Pointless Exercise Podcast
2026/10/18
So, it turns out that when the Bears have their best offensive player and their best defensive player they're pretty good. Caleb Williams returned from three weeks-plus on the shelf with a torn hammy and was great, and Kyler Gordon played his first regular season game since last Black Friday and dominated on a limited snap count. The Bears and the Falcons coaches limited Bijan Robinson to 61 yards rushing, and a late flurry of points made things a little tight at the end, but the Bears perservered to go 4-2.
505. Remember This Crap - Da Coach - Pointless Exercise Podcast
2026/10/15
NFL Champion player, Super Bowl Champion head coach, Hall of Famer, president of the Jim Harbaugh Fan Club, Mike Ditka can' t easily be summed up. But Remember This Crap is here to attempt it. The first modern pass-catching tight end as a player, he was traded away in his prime but was never the same out of Chicago, and he came back to coach a talented but rudderless team and won a road playoff game in his third season and a Super Bowl in his fourth (the Bears have more NFL titles than road postseason wins). He had a famous heart attack, got a famous DUI, repeatedly beat the Packers and loved it, and turned into the kind of sports icon that few cities ever have.
504. Utility Belted - Pointless Exercise Cubs Podcast
2026/10/14
Andy, Oleg and Praz are here to dare to look back at the Cubs season and look ahead to what comes next. Are the Cubs really going to play both utility infielders in the outfield corners? Does Pedro Ramirez remind us of the player he really wants us to remind him of. Just how bad have the Cubs been at drafting pitching? What are they going to do with the bullpen? And, what should they do with Carson Kelly or Miguel Amaya?
503. RECRAP - Bagent Zero - Pointless Exercise Bears Podcast
2026/10/11
The Bears went to Green Bay on a roll to face a pretty lousy Packers team, and Tyson Bagent gave them zero chance of winning, and then the defense decided to treat every Green Bay long pass like a tornado drill. The Packers can't stop the run, and the Bears are the best at running it, so naturally, they just didn't bother to do it. But hey, at least a lot of defensive players got hurt! Caleb might be back next week. Not a moment too soon.
502. Speaking truth to Jed - Pointless Exercise Podcast
2026/10/07
Jed Hoyer's post-season press conference might not deserve to be picked apart comment by comment, but let's do it anyway. He seems to think he build a World Series roster that fell hilariously short, that the Cubs have elite hitting and defense and a teensy tiny bit of a pitching problem. Allow me to explain to him how much of that is wrong.
501. One Tough Monangai - RECRAP - Pointless Exercise Podcast
2026/10/04
The Bears won a second straight game with a backup quarterback and technically they started the same guy, but Tyson Bagent played as well as his less than electric arm will let him in a 23-12 win over the Jets. The Bears dominated the entire game, but things got mildy spicy when a two-play TD drive by the Jets brought them within 11 points with 9:08 to go. The Bears never gave the ball back. That, honestly, was super impressive. It's the RECRAP brought to you by Schlitz.
500. "As we were saying..." - Pointless Exercise's 500th Podcast
2026/10/02
It all started with two dopes and a dream. Before the Pointless Exercise Podcast there was The Other 15% Podcast, and the Hire Jim Essian/Desipio Podcast and then just the Desipio podcast. 500 episodes later, we're back where it all began with special guest and original co-host Michael Bradt. In a wide-raging discussion (rambling, mostly) we discuss everything from the current Cubs to media members we used to harass, to old episodes, to Tony Horton workouts, to fun shows to rewatch, to...well, you'll just have to listen to the whole thing. Five hundred of anything is a lot to try to remember.
LIve RECRAP - SOS - Pointless Exercise Cubs Podcast
2026/10/01
The Cubs have been a mostly lousy playoff team since they won the 2017 NLDS against the Nationals, and that didn't change this season. They spent less than 27 hours in the playoffs, got eight hits, scored one run and trailed for 17 of the 18 innings. So, if that doesn't make you want to listen to a half hour recap of this, what would?
RECRAP - Three goddamned hits? - Pointless Exercise Cubs Playoff Podcast
2026/09/30
How bad was the Cubs 8-0 loss to the Padres in game one of the Wild Card round? We started the RECRAP before the game was over so we could stop watching it. Petecrow struck out to start the game. Fernando Tatis hit the first pitch Matt Boyd threw for a homer (though Petecrow almost caught it) and if the game felt over at that ridiculously early moment, it really was. We look back at an awful game and try to figure out what the Cubs are going to do in game two.
RECRAP: The Case Keenum Game - Pointless Exercise Podcast
2026/09/29
The Bears pounded the Eagles 27-7 and the star was a 38 year old third string quarterback. What was less likely, Case Keenum turning back the clock or the Bears' defense throttling the Eagles? Both happened. Enjoy the RECRAP brought to you by Schlitz Beer.
496. MLB Playoff Preview - Pointless Exercise Podcast
2026/09/28
The playoffs start on Tuesday, and Oleg and Praz are here to help break down the serieseses, the announcers and everything in between. We say goodbye to Taylor McGregor, tell a funny Mike Krukow story, discuss Ian Happ and Seiya Suzuki's futures with the Cubs, but more importantly who is going to start games one and two or even three for the Cubs against the Padres?
495. Bears RECRAP - Hamstrung - Pointless Exercise Podcast
2026/09/20
We'll find out soon enough if the Bears entire season went down with Caleb Williams' hamstring or if just some if it did. He seems to have avoided We point out who is to blame and it starts at the very top! Also it didn't help that the Bears' offensive genius was completely pantsed by the Vikings' defensive genius or that the center and the rookie tight end each did a lot to cost them the game. The weirdos who can't wait to see Tyson Bagent get a few starts are about to get their wish. Let's hope it works out. (It won't.) Plus, bonus coverage of a Cubs' player going full Juan Encarnacion in the on deck circle. Never, ever do that.
494. No lead is safe - Pointless Exercise Cubs Podcast
2026/09/17
The Cubs are frantically trying to figure out how to patch together a leaky bullpen, again, while Petecrow cruises to an MVP and the tries to not blow a playoff spot. Oleg and Praz are here to figure out what the playoff bullpen will look like, which superstar bench player has to depart for Dansby Swanson's return (Gabriel Arias or BJ Murray?) We look at the "tough" decisions the Cubs have coming for the playoff roster. And, yes we do discuss if they can still blow it.
493. Bears RECRAP - Bears 59, Panthers 37...no, really - Pointless Exercise Podcast
2026/09/13
We heard Ben Johnson had challenged his players to become the highest scoring offense in NFL history, and we figured it was just some cutesy motivational stuff. The Bears will never be able to do that. Well, after one week, who's going to stop them? The highest scoring week one game in NFL history not only had the Bears in it, but they won it. Schlitz Beer presents the RECRAP. If you're out of RECRAPs, you're out of podcasts. Or something.
