Philippians - Part 1: Grace and Peace to You
2026/09/22
What does it really mean to belong to God—and how does that change the way we see ourselves and Him?
As we begin our journey through the book of Philippians, we slow down and pay attention to the opening words of this ancient letter. What we discover is more than an introduction: it’s an invitation to find our identity in Christ and to see God’s posture toward His people in a new light.
Whether you’ve followed Jesus for years or you’re still exploring what you believe, join us as we open Scripture together and ask a simple question: God, what do You want to show us through Your Word?

The Reason You're Still Not Satisfied
2026/09/09
We live in a world with more to consume than ever—and yet so many of us are still restless, distracted, and searching for something more.
In Isaiah 55, God speaks directly into that hunger with a simple invitation: Come.
Come if you’re thirsty. Come if what you’ve been chasing isn’t satisfying. Come without pretending you have it all together. Come and receive what you could never earn.
In this message, we explore Isaiah 55 and God’s invitation to stop spending our lives on things that can’t give us life. Instead, He calls us to listen to His voice, turn toward Him, and discover the grace, joy, and peace found in Jesus.

What Ship Are You On? (Wollace Tavares)
2026/09/01
Is church a cruise ship—or a cargo ship? And which one are you on?
A cruise ship is all about the passengers: What do I want? What do I enjoy? What can I get out of this? But a cargo ship has a mission—it carries something valuable to people who need it.
That picture gives us a powerful way to think about the Church.
In this message, we explore the biblical role of pastors to equip the saints for the work of ministry and the calling of every believer to actually do the work of ministry.
At Hillspring, ministry isn’t something a few people do while everyone else watches. We’re all part of the crew! God has given each of us gifts, opportunities, and a role to play as we serve others and bring the hope of Jesus to the people around us.
So here’s the challenge: What ship are you on? And where might God be calling you to jump in, serve, and be part of what He’s doing?

Right Living: Do You Really Want a Beach House?
2026/08/28
What will you do with what Jesus has said?
After teaching us what life in the kingdom of God looks like throughout the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus ends with one final challenge: don’t just hear His words—put them into practice.
In Matthew 7:24–27, Jesus describes two builders. Both hear His words, but only one acts on them. Jesus calls that person wise.
Because wisdom isn’t simply knowing what Jesus says. It’s trusting Him enough to actually build our lives around what He says.
Forgive. Reconcile. Choose faithfulness. Love your enemies. Trust your Heavenly Father. Seek first His kingdom. Jesus hasn’t simply given us truths to know—He has shown us a way to live.
And His final question is what we’re going to do with what we’ve heard.
In this final message from our Right Living series, we look at Jesus’ closing words in the Sermon on the Mount and His invitation to build our lives on a foundation that will stand—now and forever.

Right Living: More Than Lip Service
2026/08/28
What if you think you’re following Jesus… but you’re not?
In Matthew 7:21–23, Jesus gives one of the most sobering warnings in the Sermon on the Mount: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Jesus warns us that it’s possible to say the right things, know the Bible, be involved in church, and even do impressive things in His name—while never truly surrendering our lives to Him.
So what does genuine faith actually look like?
In this message from our Right Living series, we explore the difference between simply calling Jesus “Lord” and actually living under His Lordship. We’ll look at the danger of spiritual self-deception, what Jesus means by doing the will of the Father, and why obedience isn’t how we earn salvation—but is evidence of a life that genuinely trusts and follows Him.
Jesus isn’t asking us to prove ourselves through perfect obedience. He’s inviting us to trust Him, surrender to Him, and allow His rule to reshape every part of our lives.

Right Living: Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
2026/08/28
Not everyone who claims to speak for God is actually leading people toward God. Some teachers may look wise, sound biblical, and appear deeply spiritual—while quietly leading people away from the truth. So how do we recognize the difference?
In this message from Matthew 7:15–20, Jesus warns us to “watch out for false prophets”—people who come looking like sheep but are inwardly wolves. Their appearance, popularity, influence, and even their teaching can make them difficult to recognize. Jesus gives us a simple but searching test: “By their fruit you will recognize them.”
As Jesus brings the Sermon on the Mount toward its conclusion, He reminds us that following the right voices matters because they can shape the direction of our lives.
True spiritual fruit isn't measured by the size of someone's platform or the number of people who follow them, but by the character their life produces. Are they becoming more like Jesus?
This message challenges us to look beyond appearances, popularity, and impressive teaching—and to pay attention to the fruit of the people we allow to influence us.

Right Living: Platform 9 3/4
2026/08/28
The path we choose in life often looks very different from where it eventually leads. Some roads are wide, comfortable, popular, and easy to follow. Others are narrow, difficult, and far less travelled. So how do we know which path is right?
In this message from Matthew 7:13–14, Jesus warns us that the paths we take in life can be surprisingly deceptive. The road that seems right may actually lead to destruction, while the narrow road leads to life.
Jesus invites us to stop evaluating our choices simply by how appealing or comfortable they are and instead consider where they ultimately lead.
As Jesus brings the Sermon on the Mount toward its conclusion, He gives us a sobering warning—and a clear invitation: “Enter through the narrow gate.”

When The Cross Becomes Personal (Andrew Vieira)
2026/07/31
The cross is one of the most familiar stories in history—but has it become personal to you?
In this message, Andrew explores how Jesus' sacrifice is far more than a historical event. When we truly grasp the depth of His love and the price He willingly paid for us, gratitude becomes more than a feeling—it becomes a joyful response that transforms our relationship with God and the way we live each day.
Through Scripture and practical application, discover how making Christ's sacrifice personal leads to deeper worship, willing obedience, authentic relationship with God, and a life marked by love, service, and hope.

Right Living: Who You Lookin' At?
2026/07/31
Few teachings of Jesus are quoted more often than, "Do not judge." Yet we live in a culture that seems increasingly quick to criticize, condemn, and define people by their worst moments.
Was Jesus telling us to abandon moral convictions? Ignore sin? Never confront wrongdoing?
In this message from Matthew 7:1–6, we discover that Jesus is addressing something much deeper than our words or opinions—He is confronting the posture of our hearts. Before we focus on the faults of others, He calls us to honestly examine our own lives, receive God's mercy, and allow that mercy to transform the way we see and respond to others.
Rather than producing indifference toward sin, Jesus shows us a better way: a life marked by humility, compassion, and a sincere desire to help others rather than condemn them.

Right Living: Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Heaven's Door
2026/07/31
Many people hesitate to approach God. Some wonder if He is truly interested in their concerns, others feel unworthy to ask, and some simply do not know whether God can be trusted with the things they carry.
But Jesus invites us into a different kind of relationship with God. In the Sermon on the Mount, He calls His followers to ask, seek, and knock with confidence—not because we have earned His attention, but because we approach a Father who loves His children and delights in giving good gifts.
This message explores Jesus' invitation to come boldly to God for wisdom, guidance, and everything we need to live faithfully. It reminds us that prayer is not about convincing a reluctant God to care, but responding to a good Father who welcomes us.
It invites us to consider:
Do I approach God with confidence in His goodness, or do I allow doubt and hesitation to keep me from drawing near?

Right Living: Don't Worry 'Bout It
2026/07/31
Worry is a natural part of life. We all carry concerns about the future—our needs, our responsibilities, our relationships, and the things we cannot control.
But Jesus offers more than a command to stop worrying. In the Sermon on the Mount, He reminds His followers of the character and care of their heavenly Father. The God who provides for the birds of the air and clothes the flowers of the field can be trusted with the needs of His children.
This message explores Jesus' invitation to live with confidence in God's care rather than being consumed by fear about tomorrow. It reminds us that when we know who our Father is, we are freed to seek His kingdom today.
It invites us to consider—
What do my worries reveal about where I am placing my trust?

Right Living: Investing Your Life Wisely
2026/06/19
Most people spend a great deal of time and energy investing in things they believe will bring security, happiness, or significance. We invest in careers, possessions, experiences, achievements, and relationships, hoping they will provide lasting fulfillment.
But Jesus challenges us to think carefully about where we are investing our lives. In the Sermon on the Mount, he contrasts treasures that are temporary and vulnerable with treasures that endure. More than a discussion about money, this teaching exposes the deeper reality that our investments reveal our priorities, shape our hearts, and ultimately reflect whom we trust.
This message explores Jesus' invitation to invest in what truly lasts. It reminds us that while earthly treasures can be lost, stolen, or destroyed, the treasures of God's kingdom are secure and eternal.
It invites us to consider:
What am I investing my life in—and will it last?

Right Living: Stop The Show
2026/06/10
Most people understand the temptation to seek recognition. Whether through social media, accomplishments, service, or even acts of faith, we naturally want to be seen, appreciated, and affirmed by others.
But Jesus offers a profound warning in the Sermon on the Mount. Looking at three common religious practices—giving, prayer, and fasting—we discover that these practices can lose both their meaning and their reward when they become performances for others rather than expressions of a relationship with God.
This message explores Jesus' invitation to live for the approval of our heavenly Father rather than the applause of people. It reminds us that the greatest rewards of faith are not found in being noticed by others, but in knowing and being known by God.
It invites us to consider:
Are we practicing our faith to be seen by others, or to know and depend on God?

Right Living: Crazy, Awesome Love
2026/06/04
Most people believe in loving those who love them. After all, it is natural to show kindness to friends, care for family, and love those who treat us well.
But Jesus takes the conversation much deeper. Looking at His teaching in the Sermon on the Mount, we discover that His followers are called to a different kind of love—one that extends beyond those who deserve it and reaches even those who oppose us.
This message explores God's invitation to love as He loves. A love that is not determined by the behaviour of others, but flows from the character of God Himself.
It invites us to consider:
Are we merely loving those who love us, or learning to love as God loves?

Right Living: Going The Extra Mile
2026/06/04
Most people believe in standing up for themselves. After all, when we are wronged, our instinct is often to get even, protect our rights, or make sure others feel what we have felt.
But Jesus takes the conversation deeper. Looking at His teaching in the Sermon on the Mount, we discover that His followers are called to respond differently. Rather than being driven by retaliation, they are invited to overcome evil with unexpected generosity, humility, and self-sacrifice.
This message explores God's invitation to go beyond what is required, choosing a path that reflects His character even when it comes at a personal cost.
It invites us to consider:
When we are wronged, are we merely seeking what is fair, or are we willing to love in ways that go the extra mile?
