Episode 402: Can You Learn to Read a Space?
2026/10/05
Can space reading be learned, or is it an innate gift?
This week on the Holistic Spaces podcast, we explore a core feng shui question—and the answer is both practical and empowering: space reading is absolutely learnable.
But it isn’t just about memorizing feng shui tools or following a set of rules. It’s about developing observation, intuition, discernment, and practice together.
In this episode, we explore the balance between structure and sensitivity, and how feng shui can be both a system and a living, embodied practice.
We also reframe intuition: not as something you’re simply born with, but as something that can deepen through study, repeated observation, and experience.
We cover:
-The difference between learning feng shui tools and how to actually read a space
-Feng shui as a balance of yin and yang
-The practical building blocks of reading a space, including the five elements, bagua, forms, shapes, colors, materials, arrangements, and rituals
-Feng shui guidelines work best as perspectives and tools, not rigid prescriptions
-The value of lineage, community, and learning from teacher to student as part of developing feng shui fluency…and much more!

Episode 391: Does Clutter Really Affect Energy?
2026/07/20
In this episode, we explore the question of whether clutter really affects energy. We look at how clutter can create stagnation, stress, and emotional heaviness in a home, but also how not every bit of mess is bad feng shui. Sometimes a little disorder is part of a creative, active life.
We also share a more personal approach to decluttering through the five elements: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. Good feng shui is not about perfection or minimalism — it’s about noticing what supports your life and creating space for qi to flow more freely.
What we talk about in this episode:*How clutter can affect the flow of qi in a home-Decluttering as a deeply personal and not one-size-fits-all pursuit-The five elements can help identify your decluttering style-How to welcome more awareness with feng shui-Small actions to begin to shift the energy…and much more!

Episode 389: All About Fire Element Colors
2026/07/06
As things heat up here in the Northern Hemisphere, we’re returning to the Fire element and its signature color: red. In this conversation, we explore the symbolism, energy, and practical use of red in feng shui—and why color is rarely one-size-fits-all.
From vibrant dragon red and energizing orange-reds to softer rose and earthy brick tones, different shades of red express different qualities of Fire qi. We discuss how understanding these nuances can help you work with color more intentionally to support your space, mood, and everyday life.
Join us as we explore how fiery colors can be thoughtfully incorporated into your home and how color can become a powerful tool for creating balance, vitality, and connection.
What we talk about in this episode:
-The significance of red in Feng Shui
-Different types of red and their meanings
-How colors influence energy and mood
