Psalm 16: A Psalm of Joy (Oct. 18, 2026)
2026/10/19
In this series we’ve heard psalms of repentance and depression, psalms of fear and anger, and even psalms of wonder and comfort. This is a psalm about joy. Psalm 16 is about finding our joy in God, setting our hearts to find our happiness in Him. This message was preached by Pastor Erick Cobb on October 18 2026.
Psalm 139: To Be Fully Known & Truly Loved (Oct. 11, 2026)
2026/10/11
`Our culture is obsessed with identity and affirmation, which is really just our human craving to be seen and known and loved. Psalm 139 shows those desires can only be satisfied in God. As the 4th century African bishop Augustine said, “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you.” Psalm 139 leads us to that rest. This message was preached by Pastor Erick Cobb on October 11, 2026.
Psalm 120 & 121: Our Problems & God's Providence (Oct. 4, 2026)
2026/10/04
Psalm 120 and 121 are the first two Psalms of Ascent, which were the songs that Old Testament saints sang on their pilgrimage to Jerusalem for the yearly feasts. Psalm 120 helps us express the despair of having to live in a world of lies and hostility, and Psalm 121 gives us the hope of help from above…from the Lord who cares for us and keeps us. And they both point us to Christ! This message was preached by Pastor Josh White on October 24, 2026.
Psalm 19: The God Who Has Made Himself Known (Sept. 27, 2026)
2026/09/28
C.S. Lewis called Psalm 19 “the greatest poem in the Psalter and one of the great lyrics of the world.” The psalm guides us in three parts: From the partial revelation of God in creation; To the perfect revelation of God in His written Word; To the personal work of God in the hearts of His children. It takes us from a mysterious Creator of the universe to the God who is known by His people personally and intimately as their Rock and their Redeemer. This message was preached by Pastor Dan McIntosh on September 27, 2026.
Psalm 109: A Psalm for the Angry (Sept. 20, 2026)
2026/09/21
In this series we’ve looked at psalms for the fearful, the depressed, and the guilty. Psalm 109 is a psalm for the angry. It is an imprecatory psalm where the psalmist calls on God to judge his enemies. Why would the Lord give us psalms like this? What benefit could they be to his people? How can they lead us to worship? Listen in to find out. This message was preached by Pastor Erick Cobb on September 20, 2026.
Psalm 32: The Joy of Repentance (Sept. 13, 2026)
2026/09/13
There’s a psalm for any struggle . There are psalms for the fearful, for the angry, for the envious, and for the depressed. Psalm 32 is a psalm for the guilty. It’s a psalm about sin and repentance. But it’s not a sad psalm - it begins and ends with joy, because repentance is ultimately about finding our happiness in the Lord. This message was preached by Pastor Erick Cobb on September 13, 2026.
Psalm 42 & 43: God Sees The Depressed Soul (Sept. 3, 2026)
2026/09/07
Psalm 42 and 43 provides us an on-ramp for worship in our depression. These two psalms, which combine to form one song, give us such a beautifully sad description of what depression feels like and show us what to do when the darkness won’t lift. This message was preached by Pastor Erick Cobb on September 3, 2026.
Psalm 23: The Lord Is My Shepherd (Aug. 30, 2026)
2026/08/31
Psalm 23 is a psalm that’s simple enough for a small child to understand and yet deep enough for a lifetime of reflection and nourishment. If you haven’t already, try memorizing Psalm 23. In it we find a Shepherd who gives us rest, courage and a future in and with Him. This message was preached by Pastor Erick Cobb on August 30, 2026.
Psalm 131: Hope In The Lord (Aug. 23, 2026)
2026/08/23
This short psalm speaks hope into our restless, noisy, and anxious age. The noise of pride agitates our hearts. In contrast is the quietness of a soul that has been calmed and weaned by God. Listen to the music of God’s redeeming love, which alone can give us a hope that leads to joy and peace. Come and hear the clear invitation to “Hope in the Lord, from this time forth and forevermore." This message was preached by Pastor Dan McIntosh on August 16, 2026.
Psalm 1: Who Is Truly Blessed? (Aug. 16, 2026)
2026/08/18
What kind of person is truly blessed? Psalm 1 shows us what their life looks like and what they love and how every blessing is found in Christ. This message was preached by Pastor Erick Cobb on August 16, 2026.
Psalm 67: Drawing All Peoples to Worship the Lord (Aug. 9, 2026)
2026/08/10
The whole book of Psalms is about worship. In Psalm 67 we see that our mission together as a church is about drawing others in to worship the Lord. Our God is a missionary God so he’s made us a missionary people. And we’ve got the best possible mission. This message was preached by Pastor Erick Cobb on August 9, 2026.
Psalm 55: What To Do With Our Fears (Aug. 2, 2026)
2026/08/02
The book of Psalms is filled with on-ramps to lead us to worship from whatever situation or emotion we find ourselves in. Psalm 55 is a psalm that meets us in our fears. We’ll learn what to do when we’re afraid and how to rest in the courage of Jesus. This message was preached by Pastor Erick Cobb on August 2, 2026.
Psalm 130: A Song for Sinners (July 26, 2026)
2026/07/27
The Psalms have been the treasured songbook of God's people for millennia. Psalm 130 is one of a group of Songs of Ascents sung by God's pilgrim people as they journeyed to Jerusalem. These pilgrim songs are also for us today. They teach us how to live as pilgrims: how to live as worshipers, as saints, as sufferers, as brothers and sisters in the Lord, and especially in Psalm 130 as sinners. It is a song of confession and assurance, teaching us the cause and cure of the chaos in our lives. This message was preached by Pastor Josh White on July 26, 2026.
Psalm 115: Idolatry (July 19, 2026)
2026/07/20
Idols were a common problem in the ancient world, but they also provide a powerful way for our culture to understand sin and our need for the Gospel. Psalm 115 will not only help free us from our own idols, it will also equip us to show others the freedom that’s found only in Christ. This message was preached by Pastor Erick Cobb on July 19, 2026.
Intro to the Psalms
2026/07/13
The Psalms are a singing theology and a theology that makes us want to sing. In them we can: 1. Look for God, 2. Look for onramps to worship God (happy onramps are not the only onramps to worship God) and 3. Look for Christ . When they pierced Him on the cross, He bled the psalms. This message was preached by Pastor Erick Cobb on July 12, 2026.
