SinBin Postgame Periscope - Utah Mammoth - Game 2
2026/04/22
Recap:The Golden Knights were looking to take a 2-0 series lead with a Game 2 victory. Deep into the opening 20 minutes Vegas drew a power play opportunity. Seconds later Golden Knights captain Mark Stone gave his club a 1-0 lead. Three minutes left in the frame the Mammoth answered back to tie the game before the break. Five minutes left in the middle frame Utah took a 2-1 lead. Without hesitation the Golden Knights fought back and Ivan Barbashev evened the score a minute later. The Mammoth regained their lead late in the final twenty minutes. With 2:51 remaining Vegas pulled their goalie for an extra attacker. Utah held off Vegas’ attack to seal Game 2. With their 3-2 victory the Mammoth even the series 1-1. Both teams will travel to Salt Lake for a Game 3 battle on Friday. Puck drop is scheduled for 630PM PT. (Recap by Jason) Analysis: VGK played another excellent defensive game by limiting the chances in front of the net for a majority of the game. In the 3rd period though the Mammoth started finding more ways through the middle of the ice and it opened up an avenue for them that hasn’t been there much through the first five periods, the rush game. They were able to capitalize on one of those chances as Guenther blew by Theodore, then the second and third whacks at it went to Utah. VGK have a bit of adversity to deal with the for first time under Tortorella. Nothing over the top, nothing they can’t handle, but a bump in the road. (Recap by Ken) Upcoming stories from Game 2 of the first round series between the Vegas Golden Knights vs Utah Mammoth at T-Mobile Arena. Offense, offense, don’t go away now repeatable offense? Ken’s Three VGK Stars *** Brayden McNabb ** Mark Stone * Ivan Barbashev This series is tied. VGK got outplayed by a real margin for the first time in a period and it was just enough for the Mammoth to take this game away. Little adversity never hurt anyone. Still feeling fine for VGK. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 22, 2026 Aggressive early goalie pull has really given VGK a chance here. They needed that icing to take the timeout cause the top guys are getting gassed. They need to dig deep here to find another chance in these last 53 seconds. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 22, 2026 VGK's PK continues to be a weapon. They've made it really hard for the Mammoth to get anything clean into the zone and even once it's there, it seems like the only way UTA get looks is out of chaos. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 22, 2026 Ivan Barbashev hero moment! Dances through a pair and then roofs it off the backhand. VGK right back level. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 22, 2026 The post GAME 2 – UTAH MAMMOTH 3 VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 2 (Series Tied 1-1) appeared first on SinBin.vegas.
SinBin Postgame Periscope - Utah Mammoth - Game 1
2026/04/20
Recap: The Golden Knights hosted the Utah Mammoth faced for Game 1 of the opening round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Early on the game was tight and physical with both teams being penalized multiple times. Late in the period Utah struck first for a 1-0 lead. Vegas answered 3:44 into the middle frame. Colton Sissons poked in a loose puck in front of the net to even the score 1-1. Minutes later the Mammoth regained their one goal advantage. Five minutes into the final frame the Golden Knights drew a crucial power play opportunity. Captain Mark Stone took advantage and tied the game 2-2. Two shifts later Nic Down gave the Golden Knights their first lead of the game. Ivan Barbashev sealed it with the empty netter. The Golden Knights win Game 1 against the Mammoth 3-2 and take a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 is scheduled for Tuesday night at 6:30PM PT. (Recap by Jason) Analysis: The key to this series is going to be which team can avoid allowing the opposing team to get the the style of game they want. VGK did a wonderful job in this opening game to avoid turnovers in their own end which limited most of the Mammoth’s offense. On the other side of the rink, VGK’s depth players did the dirty work necessary at this time of year and found a couple of greasy goals that helped out when the top-six couldn’t do a ton aside from the PP. If Vegas can continue to limit the Utah forecheck they’ll find the Mammoth much easier to keep out. (Recap by Ken) Upcoming stories from Game 1 of the first round series between the Vegas Golden Knights vs Utah Mammoth at T-Mobile Arena. The issue that plagued the Golden Knights disappeared against a team very good at it in Game 1. Ken’s Three VGK Stars *** Cole Smith ** Colton Sissons * Nic Dowd VGK walk away with their 6th Game 1 in the last 7 tries. They've gone on to win 8 of 11 series historically when they've won Game 1. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 20, 2026 Horrendous goalie pull by the Mammoth and Barbashev, who has been excellent all night long, throws one in from long range. VGK are moments away from taking Game 1! — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 20, 2026 4th line scoring has come to play in the playoffs! Nic Dowd on the high tip! 3-2 VGK — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 20, 2026 4th line scoring has come to play in the playoffs! Nic Dowd on the high tip! 3-2 VGK — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 20, 2026 Colton Sissons in the dirty areas. That's how you score goals in the postseason. VGK's first goal in over 150 playoff minutes. This game is tied! — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 20, 2026 Logan Cooley is going to be a problem in this series. Moment does not look too big for him at all in this 1st period. Came up the ice on the rush, was able to turn back, and then a cross-ice pass comes back to him and he rifles it home. VGK trail with 11 seconds left in the 1st. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 20, 2026 The post GAME 1 – VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 4 UTAH MAMMOTH 2 (VGK 1-0) appeared first on SinBin.vegas.

SinBin Postgame Periscope - Seattle Kraken - April 9th, 2026
2026/04/10
Recap: The Golden Knights were searching for the 5th straight win with a victory over the Kraken in Seattle. Captain Mark Stone struck first midway through the opening period, scoring his 25th goal of the season. Immediately into the middle frame Stone scored his second of the night to give his club a 2-0 advantage. Late in the frame, the Kraken cut the Golden Knights lead in half. After 40 minutes Vegas lead 2-1. Brett Howden regained Vegas’ two goal lead 1:11 into the final twenty minutes. Shifts later the Kraken picked up their second goal off a weird bounce. A few minutes later Seattle tied the game at three goals apiece to force overtime and eventually a shootout. Seattle took the game in the late rounds of a shootout. The Golden Knights record drops to 36-26-17 falling to the Kraken 4-3 in SO. Next, Vegas will travel to Colorado for a meeting with the Avalanche on Saturday night. Puck drop in the Mile High City is scheduled for 5 PM. (Recap by Jason) Analysis: It was a bit different than many we’ve been used to in the past because VGK were the ones holding onto the lead for the majority of this game. However, a bad bounce off the boards handed the Kraken a goal and VGK couldn’t seem to bounce back. Seattle’s skating showed up more and more as the game wore on which led to turnovers in the D-Zone. The OT period was madness and in SO, the 1-6 SEA (now 2-6) outlasted the 1-7 VGK (now 1-8). (Analysis by Ken) Upcoming stories from the Vegas Golden Knights vs. Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena. Fives Ken’s Three VGK Stars *** Rasmus Andersson ** Brayden McNabb * Mark Stone 2 goal lead in the 3rd period against a team that's lost 5 straight and 14 of 17 is not ideal. Nonetheless, VGK remain in perfectly fine place with 3 games to go. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 10, 2026 Tortorella/Stevens are using Andersson A LOT in this game. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 10, 2026 What a joke of a bounce that is. Not much you can do about that. 3-2 VGK — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 10, 2026 Mark Stone on the other side of the goal. Not something we see a lot on the PP. Good little wrinkle to see there. 2-0 VGK — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) April 10, 2026 The post SEATTLE KRAKEN 4 VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 3 (36-26-17, 89 PTS) – SO (2-1) appeared first on SinBin.vegas.

GOLDEN KNIGHTS FIRE BRUCE CASSIDY, HIRE JOHN TORTORELLA
2026/03/29
(Photo Credit: SinBin.vegas Photographer Brandon Andreasen) The Golden Knights have made a stunning move with just eight games left in the regular season, firing head coach Bruce Cassidy and replacing him with John Tortorella. Similar to Bowness and @BlueJacketsNHL, Torts is hired until the end of the season. https://t.co/LgQrQJXUE2 — Darren Dreger (@DarrenDreger) March 29, 2026 John Tortorella's record is 115-133-45 (.469) in his last 4 seasons as an NHL head coach. He has won two playoff series since 2013. He has not guided a team to a division championship since 2012 and has failed to finish above 3rd in 10 consecutive seasons. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) March 29, 2026 Bruce Cassidy won the Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights 1,020 days ago. He went 127-77-34 (.605) in the 2.9 seasons since. Absolutely ludicrous. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) March 29, 2026 The post GOLDEN KNIGHTS FIRE BRUCE CASSIDY, HIRE JOHN TORTORELLA appeared first on SinBin.vegas.
SinBin.vegas Podcast #350: They've Broken Me
2026/03/24
The Golden Knights are clinging to a playoff spot in the sloppy Pacific, but the play on the ice has failed to inspire confidence for essentially the entire season. We want to be optimistic and understand the path to the Conference Final, but we’re just struggling to see this team as any more than lucky to be located in the Western portion of the continent. SinBin Postgame Periscope - Buffalo Sabres - March 17th, 2026
2026/03/18
Recap: The Golden Knights were looking to build on a two-game winning streak and prove they’ve truly found their stride against the dangerous Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres scored first on a goofy play behind the net that was shot off Adin Hill and into the goal before he could recover. Buffalo took the one goal lead to the locker room after the 1st. Both teams had opporunities on the PP in the 2nd but neither could break through. VGK appered to be getting closer and closer to leveling the game in the final frame but Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen proved to be too good on this game. The Golden Knights record falls to 31-23-14 after losing to the Sabres 2-0 at T-Mobile Arena. Next, Vegas will welcome Western Conference playoff contender the Utah Mammoth on Thursday. Puck drop against the Mammoth is scheduled for 7 PM. (Recap by Ken) Analysis: A shockingly similar game to the one in Dallas last week. VGK looked like they were good enough to win the game but couldn’t convet offensively despite a decent number of chances. Part, maybe the main part, of the problem came from the fact that they were not dangerous directly in front of the goal enough on this night. Couple that with one of the best goalie performances by a visiting netminder all year and you end up with a goose-egg on the board. (Analysis by Ken) Upcoming stories from the Vegas Golden Knights vs. Buffalo Sabres at T-Mobile Arena. SinBin Postgame Periscope - Chicago Blackhawks - March 14th, 2026
2026/03/15
Recap: The Golden Knights were hoping to build off their last win with a victory over the incoming Chicago Blackhawks. Vegas struck first on the power play off Pavel Dorofeyev’s 33rd goal of the season. Minutes later, the Golden Knights scored two goals in a matter of 25 seconds. Rasmus Andersson notched his 12th goal of the season and Keegan Kolesar recorded his 10th. Dorofoeyev scored his second PP goal of the game deep into the middle frame to give his club a commanding 4-0 advantage. Both teams spent most of the 3rd period attempting to kill each other. Neither succeeded. The Golden Knights record improves to 31-22-14 defeating the Blackhawks 4-0 at T-Mobile Arena. Next, Vegas will welcome the red-hot Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night. Puck drop against the Sabres is scheduled for 7 PM. (Recap by Jason) Analysis: For the first time in a while, VGK had a truly awful opponent on the schedule and they did exactly what you are supposed to do with them. VGK wasted no time in opening the scoring and then kept pouring it on. The health of the roster being in the best place it’s been has offered depth allowing the Golden Knights to stick it too weaker teams and they did just that tonight. (Analysis by Ken) Upcoming stories from the Vegas Golden Knights vs. Chicago Blackhawks at T-Mobile Arena. SinBin Podcast Ken’s Three VGK Stars *** Mitch Marner ** Mark Stone * Pavel Dorofeyev The Rasmus Staredown has arrived! pic.twitter.com/6KAG8DqbIF — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) March 15, 2026 There's something VGK need to continue being good at. Puck got to the front on the PP and VGK's sticks won the battle setting up for a tap-in for Dorofeyev. It's a PP goal so it's not quite the same, but winning those will go a long way moving forward if they can keep doing it. — SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) March 15, 2026 https://twitter.com/SinBinVegas/status/2033041929563505037 The post VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 4 CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS 0 (31-22-14, 76 PTS) appeared first on SinBin.vegas.
