84. Proof That Consistency is NOT the key
2022/03/29
Have you been told that to get what you want you have to be consistent? Me too. Whether it’s with parenting, fitness, diet, career – being consistent is sold to as the answer to our problems. If we could just be consistent we would be happier, healthier, more successful. But having a goal or a mindset of being consistent can actually cause more harm than good. You don’t have to be consistent to get what you want and what you need. Today I share how my attempts at consistency led me to overwhelm and burnout, and what I learned to do instead. Listen today to learn: * Why consistency is sold to us and why our brains are so eager to buy it * How consistency is actually harming us * What to do instead Mentioned today: * My attempt at 30 days of IG reels – spoiler alert – I did it, but I paid a price For all the behind the scenes come find me on Instagram! 80.Have You Heard? I Hit Rock Bottom
2021/04/15
I remember sitting up in my bed and thinking, something has to change.  I had a baby with reflux and constant ear infections (making it impossible to go anywhere), a business, two older boys that needed attention, a move, lack of a relationship with my husband, no friends, a house to take care of – I knew that this season of life was supposed to be hard but this was ridiculous. I didn’t know what to do and I didn’t have the time or the space to think about it because the demands of kids and daily life were so overwhelming. And so I hit rock bottom. When the pain becomes greater than the fear, we make changes. Listen today to learn: * My traumatic entrance into motherhood * What prevented me from getting help sooner * What changed for me * What’s possible for you For all the behind the scenes come find me on Instagram! 2021/04/08
So many times I have looked at my struggles and thought: I can fix this myself.  And if I can’t fix it, it’s probably because everyone struggles with this and it just is what it is. I had to hit rock bottom before getting help – but you don’t have to.Listen today to learn: * Why I didn’t get help for myself sooner * What is scary about getting help and what I want all moms to know about those fears * My long-term plan to help all moms everywhere. 78.The Secret Formula For Communicating When Tensions Are High
2021/04/02
You and your husband are in the middle of disagreeing how much screen time is too much screen time. Your partner left the dishes right beside the dishwasher again instead of taking the extra step of loading them. Your kids left their socks and shoes in the middle of the floor. Again. And you’re pissed. You’re exhausted and angry. You don’t want to yell, you don’t want to shut down, but what the hell do you do?Today I am sharing my exact word-for-word formula for how to communicate effectively and easily when tensions are high.Listen today to learn: * The two ways of communicating that don’t work and the one way that does * The magical formula that avoids fighting, blaming, and possibly days of cold shoulders * How to program this formula into your brain so that you can recall it in the heat of the moment *save this episode so you have it when the anger sets in and you’ve forgotten the exact words. 76. How to Reduce Mom Burnout by Doing This ONE Thing
2021/03/18
As a mom, getting any alone time or feeling rested and balanced can be quite difficult. Despite the abundance of self-help books, podcasts, and so-called parenting “experts”, parents still get overwhelmed and exhausted trying to juggle it all. More times than not parental burnout is due to the unrealistic standards and impossibly high expectations we place on ourselves.   Moms that can ask themselves “What do I really need?” and then give themselves permission to do that thing can catch burnout early before it turns into a forest fire. At the end of the day, it’s a lack of permission that causes parents to feel like they are losing the battle of competing demands. The journey to giving yourself permission has some requirements. Listen today to learn: * What giving yourself permission to do things differently looks like * What gets in the way when you try to give yourself permission * How to push through all of these barriers to giving yourself permission For all the behind the scenes come find me on Instagram! There you can also learn how to work with me. If you’ve been going back and forth about getting help, take this as your sign. We can do a one hour SOS session or you can apply to work with me in one of my longer-term programs. 2020/06/10
Do you find it impossible to keep the house clean and organized with kids running around it all day causing chaos? It’s like shoveling snow during a snow storm. I want to invite other moms or family over but my dirty house won’t let me. I use to say I’d have people over when my house was totally clean and totally organized. When all the toys were put away. When all the dishes were clean. When there was no danger or someone stepping on a Lego and maybe even the possibility of someone complimenting my decor. I use to feel isoloated. Like a failure. Unorganized. Frazzled. A bit hopeless. It doesn’t have to be that way though. My house is still a mess sometimes, but I have found some ways to reign in the chaos enough to help me feel more at ease, confident, happy in my own house. Listen today to hear: * The 5 exact strategies I use to help the kids help me keep the house clean and organized * how even the 4 year old helps out * the biggest mistake you might be making Mama…you need an OUTLET.
