370: The Cost of Fragmented Food
2026/10/23
It's no secret that what is considered food in our country is pretty abysmal. What we call food would hardly be recognizable by our ancestors. We're discussing different aspects of the food industry today: how did we get here and what can we do about it? Is it really that big of a deal?
When the majority of chronic illnesses facing Americans today are food-driven, we assert that it's perhaps the biggest deal in health. Take a listen to the BrainStim gang as they discuss the current situation of our food and more importantly, what we can do to make a positive nutritional impact.

369: Tackling Nutrition
2026/10/16
A recent study that followed 25-44 year olds from 2010-2020 showed there was a 121% increase in heart failure over previous rates in that same age cohort. You know our favorite question around here is WHY? What could possibly have caused such a dramatic increase in a population that shouldn't be concerned with heart failure, which is traditionally thought of as a condition elderly people have to contend with?
So we're diving in today to the topic to see what we can discern from those results - and what we can do to protect those who might be at an increased risk.

368: The Art of Recovery II
2026/10/09
Last week's discussion raised so many questions and piqued so many people's interest that we decided we'd better do a follow up!
It appears that recovery is a bit of a strange concept for many. Is it just "rest"? Or is it more than that? Most spend 80% engaged and 20% recovery - when we really should have those two functions reversed. Your Autonomic vs Sympathetic Nervous System function is crucial for that recovery process, but we often don't even know how to help our systems function well.
Take a listen to the BrainStim gang as they continue the very important discussion around recovery.

367: The Art of Recovery
2026/10/02
We get it - we're even guilty of it at times too. We think so much of our health is about "doing" - and that's not necessarily wrong. But the piece that often gets missed is the equally important recovery from the doing. As a whole, we've lost the balance of doing and resting - working from our rest and resting from our work.
The BrainStim gang is diving into this very crucial part of health that often gets overlooked.

364: Concussion Season
2026/09/04
It's everyone's favorite time of year - FOOTBALL SEASON!! But as much fun as it is to watch your favorite team on the gridiron, the very unfortunate reality is with every football season comes concussion season.
Are concussions a big deal? It seems like every game from middle school to pros has at least one player that "gets his bell rung" - and players tend to shrug it off and jump back in the game. But are there lasting impacts left from concussions? And if so, is there anything we could - or should - do about it?
The BrainStim Gang is looking through their neurologically-based lens in today's episode as they explore the world of concussions.
As always, you can find more information about Dr. Aplin and his neurologically-based chiropractic practice at www.invisionchiropractic.com.

361: mRNA Flu Vax & Vitamin D
2026/08/07
These days there is no shortage of companies and organizations telling you exactly how to "protect" yourself from whatever the virus du jour is today. Unfortunately, many of those methods of protection come with a slew of long-term side effects that are often worse than the thing you're trying to combat.
What's more incredible is that our body already comes with a built-in protection system - your immune system! But, so many Americans suffer from low or sub-par functioning immune systems. Why is that? Well, as you probably imagine, there are a host of reasons and we're going to delve into them today, so you can learn exactly what you can do to boost your immune system and treat your body right so it takes care of you!
360: Models
2026/07/24
What is HEALTHcare?
Caring for your health begins with YOU - not your doctor, not the pharmacy. When you grocery shop, that's healthcare. When you choose the products that go on your skin, that's healthcare. When you exercise your body regularly, that's healthcare.
We have two models of healthcare, one is designed to actually boost your innate health, while the other is more focused on treating sickness. There's a place for both - but we need to recognize that we're not going to get real health by utilizing the illness care system. They're designed for different outcomes, so you have to decide how and when to utilize both systems.
Dr. Aplin and the BrainStim Gang go in depth about both models in today's episode to help you decipher when you might be best served by each.
