Steve Van Doren joined me on The Desiree Show It’s always an incredible treat to sit down with Steve. I’m so grateful to have him in my life and so thankful he joined me for this conversation. My life is better, so many of ours are, just by knowing him. Recorded at Skullcandy Studios in Costa Mesa on October 1, 2025. A little note from me: I owe some love and an apology to a few of my guests whose conversations have been sitting in the archive far too long. Interviewing people has never scared me, I truly love sitting down, listening and learning more about them. Putting myself out there in full video, raw and basically unedited, has felt a lot more vulnerable than I expected, and I let some of that fear slow me down. So I’m putting my pride aside and getting these conversations out where they belong. Thank you to Steve Van Doren for sitting down with me, for your patience, and for always being so kind and supportive. Thank you Kristy Van Doren! Thank you Ashley Trujillom Vanessa Grosso, Lizzie Armanto, Tony Alvam Geoff Rowley, Christian Hosoi, Ray Barbee, Chris Nieratko and Ronnie Sandoval for all your contributions. Thank you to Skull Candy, Dani, Adam, Ryan, Justin Regan, Vans and to IVI Vision. As always,  raw & unedited, for better or worse. ❤️ #TheDesireeShow  #FirstDownsAndFlipTricks #SteveVanDoren #Vans #DesireeAstorga

This was a very tender day. Clyde took the train up, I picked him up, and somehow we made a show. I was heartbroken, exhausted, and moving through the day like a bit of a zombie. (TBH, I was a wreck… held together by safety pins.) But Clyde came through with stories, warmth, honesty, and so much laughter. I’m so grateful for longtime friends who meet you exactly where you are. And somehow, Marc has been in the room for every show since. Love you, Clyde. Raw and unedited, as always… for better or worse.

August 3, 2016 Kevin Wilkins joined Desiree on the show, when she was broadcasting from WTR Radio. Kevin is incredibly talented writer, innovator, zine maker., skateboarder, husband, father.....a staple in the skateboarding worlds. November 5, I woke to the passing of Kevin after a five year battle with cancer. I should say I and the entire skateboarding community. This show never loaded, quotes from friends included Andy Jenkins, Ed Dominick, Grant Britain and....Thank you Kevin for the gift of working with you, your friendship, support, all the beautiful witty words and all the gifts you shared with us. My heart, prayers and thoughts are with Cheryl, the boys, Paddy and the entire Wilkins Family. Show originally aired live was with NFL Michael Booker. Sound quality not the best at WTR.....so this is raw and unedited.

Flash Back from March 20, 2018 Dr Jen Welter joined me again on the show. Also hits on Vans Women's Combi, quick wrap up on Vans, 'Get On Board: A celebration of Women's Skateboarding' the show I curated, MC'd and was moderator for. A vien that I started that show off with was a quote from Michelle Tafoya, as we also honor international women's day ( a bit delayed). "I never went into it [the business] thinking 'I'm a female sports reporter'. I just went into it thinking 'I'm a sports reporter'. No chip on the shoulder, no feeling like a victim when you walk in, no feeling entitled when you walk in. You've just got to do your job and work extremely hard. I think it's very basic. There's no magic to it. I think honestly it comes down to how badly do you want it. How hard are you willing to work?" Dr Jen always with amazing insight, experience and inspiration, "The field of dreams for me was football" - Dr Jen Welter The Desiree SHOW the only place where the NFL and Skateboarding meet. Always raw an unedited for better or worse.
