"Solomon and Serpico" - Richard Franz
2026/09/26
Some may be familiar with the case of Frank Serpico, a former New York detective whose experiences facing police corruption were dramatized in the Hollywood film Serpico (1973) starring Al Pacino. But we need no Hollywood blockbuster to understand the life and times of a man who faced extreme hardship for following the rules and attempting to “swim upstream” against a morally corrupt system. - Full commentary here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/serpico-and-solomon
"The High Side" - J. Davy Crockett III
2026/09/19
Something very interesting was once related to me by an avid and successful collector of Native American relics. He pointed out that when on the hunt, he looks along the higher banks of creeks and streams, since indigenous peoples often located their campsites near sources of water but would choose the best location to avoid suddenly rising floodwaters. This reminded me of the powerful wisdom in preparing ahead of time for disasters—physical or otherwise. - Full commentary here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/the-high-side
"'The Pride of Your Power'—25 Years After 9/11" - William Bowmer
2026/09/12
This year, as God’s people ushered in the annual Feast of Trumpets at sunset on September 11, many were also thinking of a momentous September 11 that shook the world 25 years ago. God warned long ago that the pride of a modern superpower grown from ancient Israel’s descendants would be broken due to sin. How are we seeing that come true in the United States today? - Full commentary here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/news-and-prophecy/the-old-nuclear-order-is-dead
"The Lunch Pail" - J. Davy Crockett III
2026/09/09
Becoming dissatisfied with our circumstances starts early in many people. Even children, rather than being thankful, will sometimes grouse about the things provided for them. There is a story of a little boy from a time when children in small rural schools would bring their lunch from home in lunch boxes, lunch bags, or a pail that might have originally been a syrup bucket. This youngster was not happy with what his mother sent for his school lunch. He sullenly thought, “It’s just not enough and I don’t like it, anyway.” And so in this attitude, he hit upon a plan. - Full commentary here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/the-lunch-pail
"Further Reflections on the End of 'Pax Americana'" - Michael Heykoop
2026/09/02
A little more than 15 years ago, at the height of the Arab Spring and shortly after the war in Afghanistan officially became the longest war in American history, we here at Tomorrow’s World commented on America’s decreasing capacity (and desire) to serve as a referee or policeman on the world stage, and then again in June of 2022. Many could see that the so-called “Pax Americana” was coming to an end. How far have we seen the world progress towards the time when the United States would no longer play a major role in global security, and what can we expect in the coming years? - Full commentary here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/further-reflections-on-the-end-of-pax-americana
"The Importance of Covenants" - Roger Meyer
2026/08/29
Bible students are generally familiar with two covenants in the Bible: The Old Covenant and the New Covenant. But there are more covenants in the Bible than one might think. In fact, in the New King James Version of the Bible the word covenant appears 315 times. What can we learn about the value of God’s covenants with His people? - Full commentary here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/the-importance-of-covenants
"Social Influence and Godly Wisdom" - Jonathan McNair
2026/08/22
In 2016, American psychiatrist and distinguished professor at Johns Hopkins University Dr. Paul McHugh wrote an article for the Wall Street Journal titled “A New Semester, a New Approach to Campus Turmoil.” Though he may not have realized it, Dr. McHugh touched on an important biblical principle as he covered the story of a Yale professor coming under heavy criticism for what some considered racially provocative comments. - Full commentary here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/social-influence-and-godly-wisdom-0
"Rushing to Judgment" - Roger Meyer
2026/08/19
Many people today are quick to condemn others when they hear or see an accusation, even if proof is lacking. Social media lights up like an electrical storm, filled with hateful and vitriolic comments and horrific threats, including bodily harm and death, toward the accused. How are we to make sense of it all and avoid the danger ourselves? - Full commentary here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/rushing-to-judgment
"The White Line" - Richard Franz
2026/08/15
Technological advancement usually trends toward increasing what we can do and where we can go. But we might benefit even more when we develop technology that shows us what not to do and where not to go—as we see from a brilliant 1950s invention that still saves lives to this day. - Full commentary here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/the-white-line
"Beware the Marketplace!" - J. Davy Crockett III
2026/08/12
A free and open marketplace can be an engine for prosperity. People have the need and desire for goods and services, which in turn provides endless opportunities for entrepreneurs to meet the demand. And yet, unregulated commerce is fraught with unwanted risks and potential hazards, which you can learn to avoid! - Full commentary here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/beware-the-marketplace
"The Cities of Tomorrow" - Ryan Dawson
2026/08/08
From the Jetsons’ flying cars to Marty McFly’s self-tying shoes, we all have desired to see a glimpse of what the future will be like. Yet, where are the flying cars? Where are my self-tying shoes? Will men soon set foot on Mars? Perhaps most importantly, what are the communities of tomorrow really going to look like? - Full commentary here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/the-cities-of-tomorrow
RM_Confession_WLWRec
2026/08/01
Have you heard the saying, “Confession is good for the soul”? This exact statement is not in the Bible, but the principle of confessing our sins is. What and to whom do we confess, and why? - Full commentary here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/is-confession-good-for-the-soul
"Take One Now or Wait for Two" - Richard Franz
2026/07/25
Have you ever found yourself waiting in line, online, or for something big in your life to come down the line, and had to remind yourself that, whatever the situation, the hoped-for object would be “worth the wait”? No one likes to wait (especially when we’re young), but it’s very nearly a universal human experience that we all have to wait for something. And indeed, we can learn a lot from studying how well—or poorly—different people apply the vitally important principle of delayed gratification—that is, choosing to wait or pursue something carefully rather than always seeking after immediate rewards! - Full commentary here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/take-one-now-or-wait-for-two
"What Is FOMO?" - Joseph Bernard
2026/07/22
We live in a world that is constantly telling us we are missing out on the best life has to offer. Whether it’s a limited-time sale, a short theatrical run of a movie, or even a chicken sandwich promoted with “get it while it lasts,” the message is the same: We must get what we feel we need now or risk missing out forever. This feeling has a name: FOMO or the fear of missing out. How can we not only avoid this fear, but be reassured that we will not miss out on a fulfilling existence now and in the future? - Full commentary here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/what-is-fomo
"Is National Pride in the Bible?" - Roger Meyer
2026/07/18
How should a Christian—one who believes and follows the true teachings of Jesus Christ—view national pride? Is “Christian nationalism” God’s intent? Should we celebrate national holidays? What are our obligations as citizens or residents of the country we call home? - Full commentary here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/is-national-pride-in-the-bible
