Description

Nature makes no mistakes. God does not play dice! Instead, every symptom is your body's appropriate response to traumatic stress, according to five natural laws of healing discovered by cancer doctor, Dr. R.G. Hamer in the early 1980's. When you know the real cause of your symptom, you've got the power to resolve it at its source. The Mind Over Symptom Podcast with Lishui Springford shows you the science of the "mind-body connection." Listen weekly to uncover the real reason - and maybe even the cure? - for every symptom from AIDS to Alzheimer's, from bipolar disorder to bulimia, and from the common cold to cancer.

Eudaimonia: The Good Life
2026/08/31
Is a good life something you get by avoiding disease for as long as possible? That's the undercurrent of conventional and alternative health alike: eat this, don't eat that, test this marker, and you get to postpone the bad thing a while longer. Avoidance, as a lifestyle. The Greeks had a word for what a good life really is: eudaimonia. Flourishing. The highest human good. But it comes with a paradox that I think undermines 21st-century civilization: the good life depends on getting your physical needs met, and focusing on getting your physical needs met pushes the good life away. Every advertisement you've ever seen runs on this paradox. So does most of religion, most self-improvement, and nearly all of the wellness industry. In this episode I show you the way out, which isn't a question of "how do I stop doing this," but, instead, "what am I getting out of this?" I tell you how my cigarette addiction fell away without willpower once the special biological program had nothing left to do. Then I give you the four questions, in the right order, so that you can get the good life, too. Listen now: https://mindtreehealth.co/blog/the-good-life-eudaimonia New here? Mind Over Low Libido
2026/08/18
A woman wrote to me with a question that's more common than she thinks: "I don't feel sexual desire for my husband — how do I get it back?" The pop-psychology answer blames him, her hormones, or her technique. It's none of those. In this episode I walk through why desire runs on polarity — the masculine attracted to the feminine, the feminine attracted by the masculine — and what happens when a woman starts managing her husband instead of trusting him: she masculinizes, he emasculates, and without either of them doing anything wrong, he turns into her teenage son. I get into the biology (temporal-lobe conflicts, hormone status), tell you about the worst backseat driver I ever rode with, and lay out exactly how to hand the territory back so desire returns on its own. Reductio Ad Absurdum
2026/07/27
There's an old move in logic: reductio ad absurdum. You don't attack an idea. You agree with it, let it be completely true, and follow it all the way to its final destination. If the destination is monstrous, the idea was rotten from the start.   (Works great for teenagers, by the way)   In this episode I run that move on the thing you do to your own symptoms every single day. Because the same escalation you can watch in a moving public policy line is running inside your psyche, brain, and body — and in Germanic New Medicine it has a name: hanging healing. A symptom gets better, then comes back, then comes back again, until you stop believing "better" is even possible for you and call it chronic (or "degenerative").   But the villain isn't the suffering. It's the avoidance of suffering. And the more you run from what you don't want to feel, the more absurd everything gets, until you can't not see it.   The way out isn't a fight. It's a cave. Joseph Campbell said it in one line: the cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek. I've been down that tunnel — all the way to full-blown panic disorder — and I know it has an exit. This episode is the map to where it is.   New here? Check out → mindtreehealth.co/start for more knowledge about how to turn your suffering into evolution.
Here for the Truth! with Joel & Yerasimos
2026/07/13
A conversation I had on Here for the Truth with Joel Rafidi and Yerasimos that turned out to be a clear articulation of my whole framework. The root of every "problem" - every symptom, every pattern, every fear - is just one fracture: existential isolation, the  severance from the source of your own being. From there: the identity conflict I call the feminine wound (and why most modern men carry it too), the era of "weak men" created by good times, the way the GNM and truth-seeker community smuggled the victim-rescuer drama into the very framework meant to free it, the cancer-screening industry that turns one in three of us into patients (and more than half of cancer patients terminal), and my twenty-two years raising a son with Down syndrome. Underneath it all is the one question: who do I want to be? The Galactic Guide to Curing Constipation (#2 is Our Favourite)
2026/07/03
A talk about the meaning of life, delivered through your toilet bowl — and Lishui means that completely. Every gut has been running the same four-step routine for half a billion years: take it in, move it along, break it down, extract the change. Every tissue you have, including the brain doing your relationships and self-worth, is a specialized version of that one original organ.   So a stuck bowel was never a plumbing problem. It's a status report on an experience you're still holding and won't let go — and there are only three flavours of holding on: starvation, processing, and indigestible anger. In this episode, Lishui draws a straight line from that half-billion-year-old routine to the "context window" she learned building a custom app with AI, explains why a DHS is an overload event in your own psyche and not a shock done to you, and shows what it actually takes to let an experience go instead of just getting rid of it. (Number two is her favourite. Of course it is.)   Listen now → https://mindtreehealth.co/blog/curing-constipation New here? Mind Over Menopause
2026/06/27
Everything you've been told about menopause is, more or less, a lie — and Lishui means the medical version and the alternative-world version. This episode takes the menopause story apart brick by brick and shows what's actually happening in your biology.   The scary symptom list — the moods, the memory, the libido, the "identity shift" — gets blamed on menopause the same way those exact feelings got blamed on PMS at twenty-five and on "hysteria" before that: the false-cause fallacy, correlation mistaken for causation. But the only true biological change in menopause is less estrogen, which simply runs puberty in reverse. That's not a loss — it's an addition, a graduation. Menopause is a biological program, not a special one; the symptoms are conflicts, and without conflicts the period just quietly stops. From there Lishui makes the case that menopause is transcendence: a genuinely new capacity, the grandmother's real role, and the end of the biggest lie of all — that you're no longer young or valuable. (She also pushes back, by name, on the deterministic version of this that's crept into GNM itself.)   Listen now → mindtreehealth.co/blog/mind-over-menopause New here? Why Babies Get Cancer
2026/06/22
"If God is loving and all-powerful, why do babies get cancer?" It's the question atheists use to shut down every conversation about meaning in suffering — and it's also the uncomfortable question that arises in GNM circles when people realize that biological conflicts start in the psyche.   In this episode, Lishui takes the question seriously. She explores why the two most common answers — "it's random" and "you manifested it" — both fail. And she offers a third framework, drawn from the fifth biological law of the Germanische Heilkunde — what she calls the Law of Meaning: suffering follows natural laws. It is not punishment, and it is not meaningless. It is purposeful — in the very specific, biological sense that the fifth law defines.   This is also a deeply personal episode, drawing on Lishui's experience raising a son with Down syndrome and the theology people tried to apply to that — and why she eventually rejected it in favour of something more honest.   Listen now → mindtreehealth.co/start
When NOT to Use GNM
2026/06/17
When should you NOT use the GNM? It's a question GNM practitioners face constantly — especially when conventional medicine is pushing back, or when a loved one is scared and asking for a reason to trust their doctor. The answer might surprise you: never. But understanding why requires a framework most people in the GNM world don't spell out clearly. In this episode, Lishui breaks down the crucial distinction between special biological programs (illness — your body's intelligent response to a conflict in the psyche) and acute anatomical problems (injury, poisoning, malnutrition — situations where medicine genuinely saves lives). Once you understand the difference, it stops being GNM vs. medicine — and starts being a conversation about what you're actually dealing with. Includes: the story of a dance teacher whose hips wouldn't let her work, the etymology of "diagnosis," Candace Pert on cellular habit, and a punchline about the health industry 100 years from now. You Can't Resolve Their Conflict (But You Can Do Something Better)
2026/06/13
Once you know about the Germanic New Medicine, watching someone you love suffer is almost unbearable. You can SEE the conflict, so why not just fix it for them? Because you can't. The conflict isn't in your psyche. It's in theirs. And when you try to resolve it for them, you don't save them — you devalue them, exhaust yourself, and feed the very drama keeping their biological conflict alive. In this episode: why explaining is not understanding, why pity is scorn in a casserole dish, how "rescuing" works like heroin replacing natural endorphins, what therapy actually means (giving energy — not becoming the energy supply), and the thunderstorm story of how my 12-year-old dog finally resolved her own conflict the moment I stopped rescuing her. The Dunbar Trap: Why It's Hard to Evolve In a Crowd
2026/05/21
A strange thing happens when we try to relate to too many people at once: Instead of becoming more loving, we become less capable of love. In this episode, I'm talking about Dunbar's Number, the "monkeysphere," and what I'm calling the Dunbar Trap: what happens when we try to relate beyond our actual psychological capacity. Dunbar's Number is often described as the theoretical human limit for stable relationships — around 150. But from a Germanic New Medicine perspective, your real capacity depends on your current state, especially when territorial and belonging conflicts are active. When we overload our capacity to relate, we do not become more connected. We start categorizing. We turn living beings into "types" — those people, those voters, those elites, those poor people, those pests, those problems — and once someone becomes a category, mockery, neglect, exclusion, control, punishment, and even brutality become much easier to justify. That's why the Dunbar Trap is not just a personal development problem. It is also the root of every social problem. In this episode, I explore why crowds make evolution difficult, why "humanity" is not the same as the actual human being in front of you, and why the way out is not avoidance, isolation, or rejecting people. The way out is to begin relating as you are right now. Stretch the monkeysphere just a tiny bit. Contact something real. And ask: What kind of person am I being in relation to this? And what would I like to be different about that? Episode permalink: https://mindtreehealth.co/dunbar-trap Free training: https://mindtreehealth.co/start
You're Not What You Eat: Why Comfort Food Heals
2026/05/14
Low-fat. Keto. Paleo. Carnivore. Blood type. Seed oils. Macros. Detoxes. Every decade brings a new dietary gospel, but it's not correlating with improved health. In this episode, we explore the hidden assumption underneath almost all modern nutrition advice: "We are what we eat." And that idea is completely wrong. Instead of food being a mechanical input that controls us, nourishment is an experience that begins in the psyche long before digestion even starts. So let's put down the kale smoothie and the Ozempic for a minute and talk about: Why your personal "comfort food" changes over time The psychology behind "junk food" Why diets are both endless and contradictory Prof. Eran Segal's surprising nutrition research The relationship between psyche, digestion, and self-devaluation "Granny Doughnut," our ancient ring-formed ancestor Four simple principles for enjoying food and still liking yourself Episode permalink: https://mindtreehealth.co/youre-not-what-you-eat-why-comfort-food-heals Free training: https://mindtreehealth.co/start
Mental Illness Isn't What You Think (and Neither Is Your Personality)
2026/05/07
What "Mental Illness" Really Is In conventional medicine, "mental illness" is when your perception is distorted - that's called psychosis. It's a detachment from reality. But it's actually something you and I do every day. Your psyche takes raw sensory data, constructs an interpretation… and then mistakes that interpretation for reality. (That's a mechanism called "psychic equivalence." And everyone does it) From the perspective of the five biological laws, mistaking our own feelings and imagination for reality isn't a a malfunction. It's a response. It's way of continuing to function while organizing yourself to avoid and deal with something that you've unconsciously decided is a threat. But when this pattern becomes intense enough that it makes us behave in ways that threaten others, it's labelled "mental illness." When threatening thinking and behaviour patterns are consistent and pervasive in every part of our lives, it gets labelled, "personality disorder." From a distorted sense of reality all the way up to personality disorder, the mechanism is the same. Your Personality Isn't Who You Are Your personality isn't your identity. And it's not something your brain produces like a machine spitting out results. Your personality - like your psyche, brain, and body - is something you originate. And you start originating it at conception (just like you start originating your psyche, brain, and body at conception). Your personality is your structure of attention, desire, fear, defenses, and behaviour. It's how you organize your experience in order to deal with what you perceive as "threats." Your attention decides what you focus on Your desire points to what you want Your fear shows what you're avoiding Your defenses protect you Your behaviour tries to resolve it Put together, this creates your personality. In other words, your personality is your MindTree in action. Your Personality Is Never the Actual Problem The issue isn't that your personality exists. The issue is that it's organized around conflict. Your psyche - your unconscious mind - is made out of unfulfilled intentions to relate — things you want to experience in reality but haven't. When those intentions conflict with each other because: you want to experience a particular state but in experiencing that, you have to experience another state you want to avoid (the Dirk Hamer syndrome or DHS) That is a biological conflict within the psyche. The biological conflict creates the persistent thoughts, emotional charge, and compulsive behaviour we call "mental illness" and "personality disorder." Your MindTree is your collection of unsolved biological conflicts in your psyche (as well as recently-solved biological conflicts for which you haven't finished the healing phase). But your MindTree is constantly trying to resolve biological conflicts. Your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are all trying to help you somehow overcome those threats and fulfill your unfulfilled intentions to relate. When you resolve your biological conflicts - when you actually fulfill the unfulfilled intentions to relate despite your strong desire to avoid re-experiencing the DHS's - then your MindTree integrates and dissolves. The thoughts complete. The emotions clear. The behaviour disappears. What Happens When You Resolve Your MindTree? If your personality is built around biological conflicts… What happens when the conflicts are gone? Do you disappear? No. What remains is your essential self: your quintessence. The part of you that was there all along, creating the entire structure. You don't become less yourself; you become more yourself. The Enneagram: A Map of Your Path Back to Yourself I love the Enneagram (literally, "nine-path") of personality. It isn't just a personality-typing system; it's a map of: your basic fear (which you're fighting a variation of in most of your biological conflicts) your basic desire (which is driving the biological conflicts you create in the first place) and your path back to wholeness (which always involves integrating your MindTree by fulfilling unfulfilled intentions to relate) Each Enneagram type represents a different way of losing contact with your essential self. Here are the nine types (simplified) and how they lose contact with the reality they desire to experience: Type 1: avoids imperfection → loses essential goodness Type 2: avoids being unloved → loses essential love Type 3: avoids worthlessness → loses essential value Type 4: avoids lack of identity → loses essential uniqueness Type 5: avoids incompetence → loses essential capability Type 6: avoids uncertainty → loses essential guidance Type 7: avoids pain → loses essential satisfaction Type 8: avoids vulnerability → loses essential strength Type 9: avoids conflict → loses essential unity So each type has a predictable pattern of losing contact with reality ("psychic equivalence," "psychosis," "mental illness," and "personality disorder"). And each type also has a predictable way back home to wellbeing. The Path Back to Wellness Healing isn't about fixing yourself. It's about seeing clearly. When you: observe your patterns of what you desire and what you fear, stop obeying your patterns, and deliberately let your attention contact what you've been avoiding …your biological conflict resolves. And when the conflict resolves, you reconnect with what you were actually looking for all along. You Don't Need to Fix Yourself Your personality isn't the problem...it's the map. Once you understand how you're wired, you can see where you've been using your own patterns to dodge what you actually want. And when you stop dodging, things get real fast. You're not trapped inside the old loop anymore. You're back in contact with reality. That's where the shift happens. That's the dissolution of the biological conflict. That's the way back to wellness. Episode Permalink: https://mindtreehealth.co/personality-is-not-who-you-are Free training: https://mindtreehealth.co/start
Why We Devalue Ourselves (But Call It "Fact")
2026/04/30
Most people think devaluation is something that happens to them. Someone criticizes you… ignores you… rejects you… and you feel it immediately. It registers as drama, or even abuse. There's a clear sense that something "out there" is happening to you. But when you do the exact same thing to yourself… You don't recognize it at all. You call it fact. "My body doesn't work." "I'm not good enough." "I can't have what I want." These don't appear as judgments. They appear as truth. But they're not facts. They're stories. In this episode, I break down the difference between factual valuation and self-devaluation, and why confusing the two keeps us stuck in patterns of conflict. Because all devaluation is self-devaluation. And once you see that clearly… something shifts. Listen now: https://mindtreehealth.co/we-devalue-ourselves Free training: https://mindtreehealth.co/start

24 How to Spot Health B******t
2026/04/11
How do you tell the difference between real health information and health b******t? In this episode, I unpack a simple but crucial filter: does the message increase your clarity and self-trust, or does it lower them? We are surrounded by health claims now — from conventional medicine, alternative medicine, freedom culture, AI-generated content, and even Germanic New Medicine circles. But not all of this is meant to inform us. Much of it is meant to persuade us. I walk through several common patterns of bad reasoning that show up in health discourse, including fear-based claims, appeals to authority, false cause-and-effect, and false binaries. I also explore why one of the biggest obstacles to really understanding the five biological laws is the habit of dragging old mechanically deterministic thinking into GNM. If we keep speaking as though we are victims of shocks, genes, germs, toxins, or even our own bodies, we have not actually left the old paradigm behind. This episode is about reclaiming discernment, rejecting manipulative messaging, and learning to notice when a health claim is trying to move you into dependency rather than helping you face reality more directly.
