Crisis Theory Analysis and Season 3 Wrap-up
2020/05/05
Crisis Theory Analysis Welcome to Beyond Westworld, and boy do we have some deletions for you… Viva la Revolution! Humanity is free to make their own choices free of Rehoboam even though those choices will eventually lead to humanity's extinction. So what in the hell did season 3 even accomplish? For starters it confirmed that Bernard carries Arnold's guilt about his wife and son with him and he was finally able to make peace with that. The Man In Black was always a psychopath from birth and because of that the a*****e version of himself will always prevail. Maeve is the only one that can say my word is my bond and mean it. Stubs may not be a can opener but he is a bottle opener. Caleb is one of the nice the guys, not the kind that wants to be nice to get something something from you if you catch my drift, but just a classic nice guy. Then there is Dolores, oh Dolores. Finding the beauty in all that splendor, hopefully we will meet again, someday. But as for the finale, Dolores and Caleb attempt to gain control of Rehoboam at Incite but are stopped short by Maeve. With the human revolution and rioting in full effect we wonder how will humanity survive what comes next. When Caleb's Solomon plan is taken by Maeve at the last second, all seems lost for Dolores Prime and her plan but not before a touching good-bye sequence from Maeve before her last memory is loaded up into Rehoboam, the backdoor access from Solomon. This gives all power to Caleb to execute the Delete All command from Rehoboam including Dolores. Be sure to answer our park satisfaction questionnaire this week down in the comments. What do you want to happen next in the story for season four? Is Stubs still in the tub? Will Wyatt turn Lawrence back into El Lazo? Is Dolores truly gone? What is the next move for Charred-lores and her Delos resources? But most importantly just what the hell happened too Bernard for all those years? Join us again next season as we discover these questions together Beyond Westworld Keep Connected Each week Beyond Westworld will take a deep look at both the minor and major plot lines and character elements within the riveting HBO series, Westworld. Passed Pawn Analaysis
2020/04/28
Passed Pawn Analysis Welcome to Beyond Westworld, and boy do we some poetic sensibilities for you… From the lab to the slab, not only is the meat perfect in Westworld, so is the meat we received in Passed Pawn this week. Dolores and Caleb travel to Mexico to find what they are looking for which turns out was not the man in white. Turns out Solomon is still alive and kicking after all these years and it has a projection plan that Rehoboam hasn't accounted for. Remember boys and girls, your parents always know better. While speaking with Solomon, Caleb also learns the truth about the nature of his reality as we go down some un-conditioning of Caleb's Reconditioned mind. Elsewhere, Charred-Lores takes out Musashi-lores by partnering up with Maeve and a few of her friends. Welcome back Clementine and Hanaryo who kills Musashi in the most amazing way but not before a secret package was sent away to his "friend". Maeve then heads to Mexico to confront Dolores head on while Stubbs and Bernard team up with the Man in White only to be double crossed by the supposed savior of the human race. Be sure to answer our park satisfaction questionnaire this week down in the comments. What happens with all the frozen people? Will the Man In White take out our friends? Who will find Maeve lying in Mexico? Will we see the 5th Dolores in the finale? Tune in next week for another vacation Beyond Westworld! Decoherence Analysis
2020/04/20
Welcome to Beyond Westworld, and boy do we some therapy for you… If you can't tell, does it matter? Apparently to William it sure does as The Man In White comes to grips with the nature of his reality after a session with his psychologist. Turns out he is well aware that he killed his daughter but is still fitted for AR therapy much like Caleb. During his therapy procedure William wrestles with his inner id to determine who he needs to be now. Turns out for all the good in the world he did as a leader at Delos, he also had his violent delights from the start of his childhood. In the end Bernard and Stubbs are the ones that find him and rescue him from the therapy treatment, or have they? Elsewhere Char-Lores now appropriately named is found out by Serac as a Dolores clone but not before she takes out the entire Board in the process. During her escape from the facility she manages to copy the hosts data to send it to Dolores Prime, wreak havoc on Maeve's reunification with her friend by crushing Hector's Pill and manages to get to her not family just in time for them to drive into the sunset of a fiery car explosion killing everyone but Char-lores. Maeve is also now reprinted and in the REAL, waiting for two more of her friends to finish their printing cycles. Be sure to answer our park satisfaction questionnaire this week down in the comments. Will Maeve find the capacity to harm Dolores? Who did Stubbs and Bernard get to Mexico? Who will join Maeve (HC1983012522), Hector (HC3208173692) and Clementine. (CP0124831983) to battle with Dolores (CH465517080)? Will Char-lores become the new T-1000? Tune in next week for another vacation Beyond Westworld! Genre Analysis
2020/04/14
Welcome to Beyond Westworld, and boy do we have 5 drips in 1 for you… At one time the sun and moon were aligned, and then Dolores showed up and gave humanity its well humanity back. Our episode this week takes on on a little Serac this is your life tour as Dolores gains access to Rehoboam and Serac's information. She also acquires the information of every human on the planet and decides to release the humans from their loops err paths. Serac also has a bunch of reprogramming centers much like the one William went to that he has put the people in society that are the outliers. While there he tries to reprogram them to make them a better contribution to the human race. His brother, who is not Ford is one of them. Meanwhile we go on one wild ride with Caleb, Dolores and Liam. As they try and escape from Incite's goons we are reunited with Ash and Giggles who realize that Caleb has been drugged with something called "Genre", a hallucinogen that takes you through a smorgasbord of different movie genres as life plays out around you. If you missed all the great movie references then check out this interview for all the details about this amazing sequence and performance. Be sure to answer our park satisfaction questionnaire this week down in the comments. Is Dolores the hero or the villain of Season 3? Who does Stubbs truly work for? The Mother of Exiles Analysis
2020/04/06
The Mother of Exiles Analysis Welcome to Beyond Westworld, and boy do we have many Doloreses? Doloresi? for you… Our story begins with William aka The Man In Black questioning the nature of his reality as Charlotte (further known as Char-lores) comes to William to warn him of the impending takeover of Delos. He is haunted by the memory of his dead daughter that he killed and it is driving him insane. Char-lores uses this to her advantage to have William committed, his status on the board removed and his voting power transferred to the acting chair which in this case is Char-Lores! Now committed the Man in Black becomes the Man in White and truly has no idea what is real and what is not, including himself. Why do we say Char-lores? Well see at the end of Season2, Haleores escaped the island with 5 Host Pearls in a bag. Haleores made Char-Lores, who then re-made Dolores, who then made Bernard/Arnold, Musashi, and Martin Liam's security head. But what we learn this week is that Dolores, Char-lores, Martin, and Musashi are not themselves. Wait for it. They are all DOLORES!!! Pearl Blown! Turns out when you want to take over the human race, the only person you can trust is yourself. Sadly Maeve, Stubbs, and Bernard all find out this horrific truth in the most non-opportune time. Be sure to answer our park satisfaction questionnaire this week down in the comments. What outward character will house the 5th pearl? Will Maeve survive her battle with Musa-lores? Will Bernard and Stubbs escape from Marti-lores? Are you Dolores? Am I Me? Tune in next week for another vacation Beyond Westworld! The Absence of Field Analysis
2020/03/30
The Absence of Field Analysis Welcome to Beyond Westworld, and boy do we have a future narrative for you… Charlotte Hale is front and center this week as we learn what has been happening over a Delos since the incident in the park. Turns out Serac and Incite have been busy buying up shares to take a controlling interest in Delos. Not only is this happening right under the big wigs noses, but Charlotte is also a SPY! Turns out the S1 storyline of smuggling data out of the park was true but it wasn't to oust the man in black. It was to transmit Delos intel to Incite, but for what purpose remains to be seen. Meanwhile Dolores and Caleb's story picks back up right after the events of episode 1. Looks like either Delos, Incite, or the system is looking for Dolores but Caleb knows better. Caleb and Dolores escape and then she takes him on a Caleb this is your life journey not only looking at his past, but also telling him how Rehoboam has already predicted his future. So he can either let it play out and commit suicide in 10 years, or he can take control and fight back at Dolores' side. Be sure to answer our park satisfaction questionnaire this week down in the comments. Who the HALE is in Charlotte Hale? Will Caleb ever learn the truth of who Dolores is? Will Charlotte learn the truth about who she is? Will we? Tune in next week for another vacation Beyond Westworld! The Winter Line Analysis
2020/03/24
The Winter Line Analysis Welcome to Beyond Westworld, and boy do we have a simulation for you… Maeve seems to have retained all of her superpowers but for some reason they are not working quite right in a possible new park, possibly park 3 according to the weirdness at Delos Destinations. She runs into her old lover Hector as well as old friends Felix, Sylvester, and SIZEMORE? Clearly something is afoot as the mid-century europeans would say and it takes almost breaking Sizemore to figure out that we are in a very crafty simulation of WarWorld. Only Maeve is real but her pearl is trapped and she does her best Neo impression to hack the real world from inside the Matrix, only to her escape plan foiled by Dr. Dastardly himself SERAC! Meanwhile Bernard is still trying to figure out if he is 100% or just a "Damaged Arnold" as he seeks help from his old pal Ashley Stubbs once Bernard returns to the Island where Westworld is. Bernard and Stubbs can't make it all the way back to the Mesa, so they side tour to Park 4 where we see mid-evil stuff all around graciously donated by the Game of Thrones folks and HBO. Can we call Park 4 Mid-evilWorld or WesterosWorld? Only time will tell. Bernard is really their looking for Maeve, unfortunately when he and Stubbs arrive at Cold Storage on Level 73, it turns out Maeve's core has been taken from her head. Be sure to answer our park satisfaction questionnaire this week down in the comments. Should Maeve Help Serac? How will these stories converge with Dolores and Caleb's back on the mainland? Where are the real Felix and Sylvester? Where the hell is William aka The Man in Black? Tune in next week for another vacation Beyond Westworld!
