Class of 2016: The Invitation

It's our ten year anniversary and we while we didn't get each other any tin or aluminum, we did decide to attend a nice dinner party. Oh, John Carrol Lynch is here as well. This should go fine. Join us as we go through a Buzfeed article to refresh our forty-year old minds on what was happening a decade ago, dissect what this movie has to say about the times it was made and the times to come, and highlight why this movie is the kind of movie that keeps us doing this podcast. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

HMY Summer Series: The Beasts of Summer: Piranha 2: The Spawning
2026/08/28
We wrap-up our Summer Series by packing up the Time Machine and heading back to 1982 to check out James Cameron's first film, and one that he didn't really direct. Join us as we discuss the absurd behind-the-scenes stories from the film, the impressive career behind Special Effects/Prosthetics Designer Gianetto De Rossi, connect the dots between this film and some of James Cameron's biggest movies, and choose our favorite Lance Henriksen performances. We discuss non-Piranha stuff as well, but if you are interested in only Piranha talk, skip ahead to about 30 minutes into the episode. Thank you as always to The Gamma Foundation for our theme music. Check them out on Spotify! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Tiny Terror: HorrorHound Weekend Cincinnati 2026 Preview

HMY Summer Series: The Beasts of Summer: Hell Comes to Frogtown
2026/08/07
Our summer series takes a detour to Frogtown as we accompany Sam Hell as he spreads his seed across a desolate land created by some sort of nuclear war that left mutated frogs with snake penises. It's a real movie! So join us as we discuss the life and career of Roddy Piper, the low budget zen filmmaker Don Jackson, the pretty excelllent effects work, and whether or not we would fall for Nurse Spangler's seduction training. Thank you as always to The Gamma Foundation for our theme music. Check them out on Spotify! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

This episode is being released on our main feed a little early, but if you want access to all our Tiny Terror episodes, please check our Patreon: Patreon.com/Midwestpodnet. Special thanks to Christopher Scott Davis for his track "A Glass Knife Laid Bare" as the intro for this episode. HMY Summer Series: The Beasts of Summer: Squirm (1976)
2026/07/24
Our Summer Series rolls on as we head back to the 1970s to visit a small Georgia town being overrun by electrified killer worms. Join us as we talk about the top ten songs and toys of 1976, the unique career of director Jeff Lieberman, the importance of this low-budget shlocker in the careers of two legends: Rick Baker and Drew Struzan, and how exactly you get your thumb get bitten off by a worm. We don't really have an answer for that. Sorry. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Tiny Terror : Nashville

Special thanks to Christopher Scott Davis for his track "A Glass Knife Laid Bare" as the intro for this episode. HMY Summer Series: The Beasts of Summer: Razorback
2026/07/10
Our Summer Series continues as we take the Time Machine back to the Ozploitation era to check out Razorback. We talk about the odd career of Russell Mulcahy and wonder what happened. We also discuss whether the main character in this movie moves on a little too fast from his dead wife, talk about Hogzilla and the intelligence of pigs, and dissect how music videos informed one of the best sequences of this movie. We spend the first section of this episode talking about the journey to getting this one recorded including near death experiences starting generators, basement tents, and toddlers coughing into balloons and then shoving the ballons directly into their parents mouths. If that is not of any interest to you, skip ahead to about 20 minutes in for our standard unmatched film and music analysis. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
