2 Truths & A Lie: Derrick Henry SPEAKS On Titans And ESPN Insiders Put Cam Ward ON ALERT

Easton Freeze and JT Ruhnke play Titans 2 Truths and a Lie on today’s LIVE A to Z Sports Nashville morning show.
Henry was asked about facing his former team as a member of the Baltimore Ravens and initially joked that the Titans “shipped me out.” He quickly softened that description and made it clear that there is still love between him and the organization. However, Henry also revealed that Tennessee never offered him an opportunity to return before he signed with Baltimore.
Were the Titans wrong to move on without even presenting one of the greatest players in franchise history with an offer? Could Tennessee have retained Henry while transitioning toward a younger roster, or was the split inevitable after the 2023 season?
The Derrick Henry conversation arrives as ESPN NFL insiders Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano offer two alarming descriptions of the situation surrounding Cam Ward.
Fowler reported that the Titans want to give Ward more time despite his 3-17 record as an NFL starter. However, Tennessee’s offensive struggles can test the patience of the front office and locker room for only so long.
What does the Titans’ internal patience leash actually look like? Is there any realistic scenario in which Ward could be temporarily benched this season, or does Tennessee need to give its young quarterback every possible opportunity to play through his mistakes?
Graziano offered an even stronger assessment, describing the situation in Tennessee as being “out of whack” and pointing toward an apparent disconnect between Ward and the Titans’ coaching staff or offensive scheme.
Easton and JT debate whether that reported disconnect is supported by Ward’s play, his public comments and the Titans’ offensive results—or whether it represents an overreaction to an 0-3 start.
The audience determines where the show begins. Which of these three Titans narratives is most likely the “lie,” meaning the claim that is least supported or potentially most misleading?
🏈 Derrick Henry was “shipped out” by the Titans
🏈 Tennessee’s patience with Cam Ward could begin wearing thin
🏈 An obvious disconnect exists between Ward and the coaching staff
Easton and JT will follow the most popular answer from the live chat before examining all three paths.
Join the LIVE conversation:
🏈 Were the Titans wrong not to offer Derrick Henry a contract?
🏈 Do you buy or sell the reported Ward-coaching disconnect?
🏈 How long is Tennessee’s internal patience leash for Ward?
🏈 Which Titans narrative is most likely the lie?

Cam Ward Film Review Reveals the REAL Concern About the Titans QB

Austin Stanley and Easton Freeze break down Ward’s performance in Tennessee’s 12-7 Week 3 loss, examining the missed opportunities, offensive line protection, downfield passing and dramatic difference between the first and second halves. After 20 NFL starts, which parts of Ward’s game should concern Titans fans most—and which criticisms need more context?
The Titans are 0-3 entering their Week 4 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. Tennessee had a chance to beat New York late, but Ward’s interception on first and goal ended the comeback and intensified the conversation about his development as the franchise quarterback.
Easton shares his findings from the Giants film, including plays involving right tackle JC Latham, Ward’s missed touchdown opportunity to rookie wide receiver Carnell Tate, a downfield passing example and the quarterback’s first-half versus second-half performance.
Tennessee struggled to sustain offense early against the Giants before producing three extended drives after halftime. Ward finished 23-of-36 for 181 yards, one touchdown and one interception. His late touchdown pass to Wan’Dale Robinson brought the Titans back into the game, but missed red-zone opportunities prevented Tennessee from finishing the comeback.
How much of that performance belongs to Ward, and how much belongs to Brian Daboll’s offensive approach? Did the protection give Ward enough opportunities to succeed? Are accuracy, mechanics, pocket movement or consistency the biggest obstacles? Austin and Easton use the film to work through those questions rather than judging the quarterback solely by his final throw.
The discussion also turns to the growing calls for a temporary Cam Ward benching. National NFL writer Mike Jones has argued that Tennessee should consider sitting Ward, drawing comparisons to Bryce Young’s experience with the Carolina Panthers.
What would a temporary benching actually solve for the Titans? Could watching from the sideline help Ward reset his mechanics and decision-making, or does he need more live repetitions to develop chemistry, recognize situations and execute when games are on the line?
Robert Saleh’s comments about Ward’s opportunities in clutch moments help frame the debate. The Titans have had chances to win against both the Philadelphia Eagles and Giants, but their execution in critical situations has left them winless.
Austin and Easton also open with Tennessee’s latest offensive line injury news. The Titans placed guards Fernando Carmona and Jackson Slater on injured reserve and promoted Garrett Dellinger to the active roster, creating another challenge as the offense prepares for Baltimore.
Join the LIVE conversation:
What is your biggest concern about Cam Ward through 20 Titans starts?
What would a temporary benching actually accomplish?
Which missed opportunity against the Giants tells you the most about Ward’s development?

The Tennessee Titans have a talent problem—but are Robert Saleh, Brian Daboll and the coaching staff making an imperfect roster even worse?
Austin Stanley and Easton Freeze examine the role Tennessee’s coaches have played in an 0-3 start after watching Ben Johnson and the Chicago Bears create a brilliant offensive performance around third-string quarterback Case Keenum on Monday Night Football.
Keenum had not appeared in an NFL game since 2023. With Caleb Williams and Tyson Bagent unavailable, the 38-year-old completed 24-of-34 passes for 247 yards, threw two touchdowns and ran for another as Chicago defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 27-7.
The same Eagles team escaped Nashville with a 24-20 victory over the Titans one week earlier.
Keenum credited Johnson’s play-calling and ability to put Chicago’s offense in favorable situations. That performance created an unavoidable comparison for a Titans offense that has scored only 37 points through three games and continues to struggle with sequencing, predictability, red-zone execution and situational football.
How much of Tennessee’s 0-3 start belongs on the players—and how much belongs on the coaches?
Austin and Easton assign a percentage of blame to both sides before revisiting Robert Saleh’s most controversial decisions from the 12-7 loss to the New York Giants.
Late in the first half, Saleh attempted a 59-yard Joey Slye field goal in difficult wind and rain. The miss gave New York favorable field position, allowing the Giants to add a field goal before halftime.
In the third quarter, Tennessee passed on a shorter field-goal opportunity and attempted fourth-and-5 from the Giants’ 7-yard line while trailing 12-0. The play failed, but was the decision itself wrong—or was it a defensible attempt to score the touchdown Tennessee needed?
The Titans’ red-zone play-calling also comes under scrutiny. A film graphic from Drew Beatty and Easton reveals Tennessee returning to the same concept in critical situations. Was Brian Daboll establishing an offensive tendency, or making his struggling offense too predictable when the field became condensed?
Three weeks into the season, Tennessee has already experienced:
🏈 A lifeless opening loss to the Jets
🏈 A late situational collapse against the Eagles
🏈 A seven-point performance against the Giants
🏈 Multiple questionable clock and fourth-down decisions
🏈 Repeated red-zone failures
🏈 A game-ending Cam Ward interception
The Titans do not possess one of the NFL’s strongest rosters. That makes coaching even more important. Saleh and Daboll must give Ward and Tennessee’s young players schematic advantages, clearer answers and a larger margin for error.
Instead, are the coaches becoming another obstacle this team must overcome?
Join the LIVE conversation:
🏈 Are Titans coaches making the roster look worse?
🏈 How would you divide blame between coaches and players?
🏈 Which Robert Saleh decision hurt more against the Giants?
🏈 Is Brian Daboll becoming too predictable in the red zone?
🏈 What can Tennessee learn from Ben Johnson and the Bears?

Cam Ward’s Game-Losing INT Puts Titans Fans’ Faith in to the TEST
2026/09/28
Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans had a chance to steal their first victory of the 2026 NFL season. Instead, Ward threw an interception in the end zone with 17 seconds remaining, sealing a maddening 12-7 loss to the New York Giants.

Austin Stanley and JT Ruhnke react LIVE as the Titans fall to 0-3 and confront the first major crisis of confidence surrounding their second-year franchise quarterback.
Tennessee’s offense failed to record a first down until the final minutes of the first half. The Titans were shut out through three quarters, wasted multiple opportunities inside the Giants’ 10-yard line and managed only one touchdown despite Robert Saleh’s defense holding New York out of the end zone.
Ward eventually found a rhythm. He connected with Wan’Dale Robinson for a fourth-quarter touchdown and then led Tennessee on a potential game-winning drive after the defense forced a crucial stop.
The Titans reached first-and-goal from the Giants’ 7-yard line with two timeouts remaining. Ward had time to protect the football and give Tennessee several opportunities to score. Instead, he forced a pass toward Elic Ayomanor that Giants safety Jevón Holland intercepted.
Afterward, Ward pushed back when asked whether the decision was reckless. He said the mistake was the placement of the throw and that a higher ball could have produced a different outcome.
Was that an acceptable explanation? Did Ward demonstrate accountability during his full postgame press conference, or did he fail to recognize the severity of the decision that ended the game?
Austin and JT evaluate Ward’s complete performance, his postgame demeanor and what Titans fans should currently believe about his development.
The show also examines two major Robert Saleh decisions.
Late in the first half, Saleh sent Joey Slye out to attempt a 59-yard field goal in difficult wind and rain. The miss gave New York favorable field position, and the Giants converted it into a field goal as time expired.
In the third quarter, Tennessee passed on a short field goal and attempted fourth-and-5 from the Giants’ 7-yard line. Ward failed to complete the pass, leaving the Titans scoreless.
Which decision was more painful? Was the fourth-down attempt actually the correct call despite its result? And how much responsibility belongs on Saleh for an 0-3 team that continues to fail in critical situations?
Join the LIVE conversation:
🏈 What is your current state of mind on Cam Ward?
🏈 Did Ward pass or fail his postgame press conference?
🏈 Was his final throw reckless?
🏈 Which Robert Saleh decision hurt Tennessee the most?
🏈 How concerned should Titans fans be at 0-3?

Titans’ UGLY Backup QB History Makes Jameis Winston a Dangerous Week 3 Trap

But does facing a backup quarterback actually improve Tennessee’s chances of earning its first victory of the 2026 NFL season?
Austin Stanley and Easton Freeze examine the Titans’ results against backup quarterbacks across two dramatically different stretches of franchise history. Austin’s research compares Tennessee’s performance from 2016 through 2022 with what happened from 2023 through 2025—and explains why Winston should not automatically be treated as an easy matchup.
The Titans are 0-2 after losses to the New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles. Their Week 2 performance represented significant progress, but Tennessee still surrendered a late lead and remains winless entering a matchup carrying legitimate must-win pressure.
The Giants are dealing with several major injuries, including the loss of starting quarterback Jaxson Dart. Winston struggled after replacing Dart against the Los Angeles Rams, but his aggressive playing style and extensive NFL experience make him capable of creating explosive plays against Tennessee’s defense.
Does Winston help the Titans because he is a backup quarterback entering a difficult situation? Or could his willingness to push the football downfield make him more dangerous than an injured Dart would have been?
Weather could further complicate the matchup. Rain and significant wind are expected around MetLife Stadium, potentially transforming Titans-Giants into a physical game decided by rushing production, turnovers, field position, special teams and situational football.
Austin and Easton also continue the Week 3 must-win conversation. After Tennessee failed its opening test against the Jets and let an upset opportunity against the Eagles slip away, can the Titans afford to lose to an injury-depleted Giants team starting its backup quarterback?
Plus, the viral Titans fan pledge involving a walk from MetLife Stadium to Nissan Stadium has received another update. If Ballin is not completing the walk, does Tennessee now have to worry about the dreaded curse of an unpaid football bet?
Join the LIVE conversation:
🏈 Does facing Jameis Winston help or hurt the Titans?
🏈 Why has Tennessee struggled against backup quarterbacks?
🏈 Is Titans-Giants officially a must-win game?

Tennessee enters Week 3 at 0-2 after losses to the New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles. Now Robert Saleh’s team travels to MetLife Stadium to face an injured New York Giants team starting backup quarterback Jameis Winston.
Jaxson Dart will miss the remainder of the regular season after suffering a knee injury during New York’s 28-6 Monday Night Football loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Winston will start against Tennessee as the Giants reshape their offense around the veteran quarterback’s skill set.
Easton Freeze and JT Ruhnke debate whether Titans–Giants should officially carry the must-win label.
The Titans faced similar questions before their Week 1 opener against the Jets. That game carried enormous emotional and business stakes, but Tennessee still had an entire season ahead of it. Two losses later, the circumstances have changed. Falling to 0-3 would erase much of the progress Tennessee showed against Philadelphia and create a potentially disastrous start to Saleh’s second opportunity as an NFL head coach.
Saleh said NFL games are lost more often than they are won, placing an emphasis on avoiding the penalties, mistakes and situational failures that have already hurt Tennessee. The Titans had a late lead against the Eagles but failed to finish the game, losing 24-20 on a Philadelphia touchdown with nine seconds remaining.
Can Tennessee finally stop finding ways to lose?
Saleh also understands what the Giants are experiencing with a backup quarterback. He warned against underestimating Winston or assuming Dart’s absence makes Sunday an easy matchup. Winston now receives a full week of preparation and a game plan specifically built around what he does best.
Easton and JT explain why this game matters to the Titans’ season, Saleh’s credibility, Cam Ward’s development and a fan base exhausted by four years of losing football.
Weather could add another layer at MetLife Stadium. Rain and wind are possible Sunday, creating a game in which rushing efficiency, ball security, field position, special teams and defensive discipline could become even more important.
Which team is better equipped to overcome difficult conditions?
The Titans showed an improved rushing attack against Philadelphia behind Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears. The Giants possess their own physical identity and will likely attempt to protect Winston with the running game. Easton and JT compare both rosters and determine which team should benefit if the game becomes ugly.

JT Ruhnke and Ryan Roberts take over the A to Z Sports Nashville morning show to separate FACT from FICTION after reviewing the Titans’ first two games against the New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles.
The public conversation surrounding Tennessee has already produced several strong narratives. Cam Ward has shown improvement, but the film continues to reveal missed opportunities within Brian Daboll’s offense. Is Ward leaving too many completions and explosive plays on the field? Are his struggles primarily about accuracy, processing or trusting the structure of the offense? And how much responsibility belongs to the quarterback compared with the offensive line, receivers and coaching staff?
JC Latham has become another major source of frustration for Titans fans.
The offensive tackle has been criticized for penalties, inconsistent protection and his involvement in the damaging late sack against Philadelphia. Ryan questions whether Latham’s long-term NFL ceiling is actually at tackle—or whether his physical profile and skill set would work better at guard. JT examines whether the criticism matches what the All-22 tape shows or whether Latham has become an easy target for larger problems across the Titans offense.
JT and Ryan will work through the strongest Titans narratives from the first two weeks and decide which ones are supported by the film and which ones are fiction.

Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart injured his knee against the Los Angeles Rams and did not return. Jameis Winston took over for the remainder of New York’s 28–6 loss. Dart’s availability for Sunday’s Titans–Giants game remains the biggest question, and Winston discussed what a full week of preparation could mean if he is called upon to start.
Austin Stanley and JT Ruhnke debate which quarterback would actually give the 0–2 Titans a better chance to win. Dart brings mobility and a different dimension to the Giants’ offense. Winston brings extensive NFL starting experience and a willingness to push the ball downfield. Would Robert Saleh’s defense prefer to face the young starter or the veteran backup with a full week to prepare?
The injury concerns go beyond quarterback. Wide receiver Malik Nabers hurt his shoulder against the Rams but returned to the game. Left tackle Andrew Thomas left with a groin injury, while edge rusher Brian Burns left with an ankle injury. Their Week 3 availability could reshape matchups on both sides of the ball. Austin and JT react to John Harbaugh’s comments and ask which non-quarterback injury would most affect Tennessee’s chances: Nabers, Thomas or Burns.
The show also returns to the Titans’ 24–20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Tennessee is still looking for its first win under Saleh, but its Week 2 performance included real improvement after an ugly opener against the Jets. Austin and JT examine the success-rate graphic and discuss where Saleh was right about the way his team played—even as the Titans let a late lead slip away.

Titans Loss to Eagles STINGS Because of Where The Blame Needs to Be Placed
2026/09/21
The Tennessee Titans had a late lead against the Philadelphia Eagles. Nine seconds remained when Jalen Hurts found Darius Cooper for the touchdown that sent Tennessee to a painful 24–20 loss and an 0–2 start under Robert Saleh.

So who deserves the most blame for letting this game get away?
Austin Stanley and Easton Freeze react to the Titans’ Week 2 loss, starting with their one-word recaps before examining the final minutes. Tyjae Spears’ huge third-and-long run put Tennessee in position to take control, but the Titans settled for a Joey Slye field goal with 1:56 left. Philadelphia then drove downfield for the winning touchdown.
The late sequence puts Brian Daboll’s first-and-goal play call, the Titans’ inability to finish the drive with a touchdown, and Saleh’s defense under the microscope. Should the offense have done more to protect its lead? Why couldn’t Tennessee pressure Hurts or get the final stop? Austin and Easton weigh the coaching decisions alongside the plays the Titans failed to make.
They also revisit Saleh’s explanation of how his team responded after halftime and Cam Ward’s comments about settling for a late field goal. Ward was clear about the larger result: this was a loss, not a moral victory.
Peter Skoronski said this defeat hurt more than the Week 1 loss to the Jets. The Titans looked far more competitive against Philadelphia, ran the ball effectively and gave themselves a real chance to win. That makes the final result harder to shake.
