Ep. 525: Your Core Wound Map
2026/10/06
What if you’ve done years of personal growth, therapy, healing, and self-development—and you’re still getting triggered by the same things? In this week’s episode, I’m doing something a little different. I’m handing the microphone over to my dear friend, Empowerment Strategist, and host of the Open Heart Healing Podcast, Vesta Hurlbutt, to interview ME about the work that has become such a huge part of my life: the Core Wound Map. Vesta has been part of this journey almost from the beginning. She has experienced the Core Wound work herself, trained in the process, and watched it evolve over the years—so she was the perfect person to ask me the question: Why now? Why is it finally time for this book? The truth is, I thought I was writing a book. What I realized along the way was that I was actually creating a process—one that could help people identify the core wounds underneath their triggers, recognize the patterns those wounds created, and begin changing the way they respond. Because identifying your wounds is only the beginning. In this conversation, we talk about: How the Core Wound Map evolved from my own experience with Imago work into the process I use todayWhy understanding your patterns can change the way you look at your triggers, relationships, and pastThe difference between identifying a core wound and actually rewiring the patternWhy you can intellectually understand where your reactions come from and still continue having themWhy our relationships can become powerful opportunities for healing old woundsThe role of support, stretching, and practice in creating new responsesWhy this book has taken me years to complete—and why I finally know it’s readyLearning to trust your intuition even when other people don’t understand the timingWhy I’m especially interested in helping people who have already done a LOT of work on themselves and are wondering, “Why am I still getting triggered?” YOUR CORE WOUND MAP — PRE-LAUNCHYour Core Wound Map: Why You’re Still Getting Triggered After All the Work You’ve Done—and What Will Finally Change It is officially in pre-launch. And this isn’t simply about pre-ordering a book. During the pre-launch, there are opportunities to go deeper, experience the Core Wound Map process, access special bonuses, and even help me test and refine some of the newest pieces of the work before the final book is published. If you’ve been doing the work but know there’s another layer you haven’t uncovered yet, I created this for you. Ep. 524: From Diet Culture to Self-Worth: Breaking the Weight Loss Trap
2026/09/29
What if the problem isn’t that you haven’t found the right diet yet? For decades, we’ve been taught to measure health by weight, clothing size, calories and the number on the scale. But what happens when the pursuit of weight loss actually pulls us further away from our health—and from ourselves? In this episode, JJ welcomes back nutritionist, behavior specialist and author Carrie Lupoli for a powerful conversation about diet culture, body image, GLP-1s, self-worth and the beliefs that drive so many of our choices around food and our bodies. Carrie shares the philosophy behind her new book, From Corset to Crown, and the difference between making health decisions from the “corset”—restriction, fear, self-sacrifice and the need for outside approval—and making those same decisions from the “crown” of self-worth, self-love and self-leadership. Because losing weight and becoming healthier are not necessarily the same goal. JJ and Carrie explore why reaching a “goal weight” doesn’t automatically create confidence, happiness or self-worth; why our culture is so quick to compliment weight loss without asking what is happening underneath it; and why changing your relationship with your body may be just as important as changing what you eat. They also discuss GLP-1 medications and the current obsession with weight loss, blood sugar stabilization, diet mentality, emotional eating, body image, cultural conditioning and the deeper question we rarely stop to ask: Why do I want to lose weight—and what do I believe will finally be different about me when I do? In this episode, you’ll hear more about: The difference between weight loss and true healthHow diet culture connects body size to self-worthWhy getting to your “goal weight” may not make you happierGLP-1s and our cultural obsession with getting smallerBlood sugar stabilization and sustainable nutritionWhy the motivation underneath your health choices mattersHow childhood messages can shape body image and self-worthThe connection between self-sacrifice, stress and abandoning your own needsWhy meal plans and diets alone rarely address the deeper issueHow to identify whether a choice is coming from your “corset” or your “crown”Why self-awareness, self-love and self-leadership belong in the health conversationA different definition of what it means for a diet or health strategy to actually “work” Carrie asks three powerful questions that can begin changing your relationship with food and your body: What do you want? Why do you want it? And what is your definition of “working”? Because if “working” means having peace around food, understanding how to fuel your body, feeling healthy and knowing your worth, the number on the scale can’t be the only measurement that matters. ABOUT CARRIE LUPOLI Carrie Lupoli is a nutritionist, behavior specialist, educator, speaker and author whose work challenges traditional diet culture and helps women create a healthier relationship with food, their bodies and themselves. Her new book, From Corset to Crown, explores how women can move away from restriction, self-sacrifice and external validation and toward self-worth, self-awareness and empowered health choices. Ep. 523: Breaking the Rules of Health, Weight Loss & Healing
2026/09/22
What if some of the health advice you’ve been following is actually keeping you stuck? In this episode, JJ Flizanes sits down with New York Times bestselling author Dr. William Davis to challenge some of the long-standing rules we’ve been taught about weight loss, health and healing. From the century-old “eat less, move more” mentality to the growing understanding of the microbiome, inflammation, nervous system and emotional health, JJ and Dr. Davis explore why restoring health requires looking beyond symptoms—and sometimes questioning the very advice we’ve been told to follow. Dr. Davis shares why calorie restriction and conventional weight-loss thinking can fail people long-term, and how the microbiome may influence far more than digestion—including mood, behavior, metabolism and overall health. JJ expands the conversation beyond the physical body, exploring the relationship between our emotional state, nervous system and physical health. Healing isn’t always an outside-in process or an inside-out process—it may require understanding both. In this episode, you’ll discover: Why it may be time to question some of the health “rules” we’ve accepted as factWhy eating less isn’t necessarily the answer to sustainable weight lossHow your microbiome can influence your health in unexpected waysThe connection between emotions, the nervous system and physical symptomsWhy addressing only the physical—or only the emotional—can leave important pieces of the puzzle untouchedHow becoming more informed and curious about your body can help you take a more active role in your healthWhy personalization, community and understanding the whole person matter when creating lasting change Join JJ & Dr. William Davis on the New Body Blueprint Cruise Take these conversations much deeper in person with JJ Flizanes and Dr. William Davis aboard the New Body Blueprint Cruise, February 27–March 7, 2027. Ep. 522: Why Your Discomfort Is the Beginning of Your Breakthrough
2026/09/15
What if the discomfort you’re experiencing isn’t a sign that something has gone wrong—but an indication that something is ready to change? Most of us want to get rid of discomfort as quickly as possible. We distract ourselves, numb it, push through it, treat the symptom, blame the circumstances, or retreat back into familiar patterns. But whether your discomfort is physical, emotional, relational, or simply a feeling that you’re stuck, frustrated, anxious, or disconnected, it may be trying to get your attention. In this episode, JJ Flizanes explores why discomfort can become the catalyst for some of our greatest breakthroughs—and why we often don’t make meaningful changes until staying where we are becomes more uncomfortable than moving forward. JJ shares examples from her own recent healing journey and relationships to illustrate how an uncomfortable experience can expose deeper beliefs, fears, core wounds, and patterns we may not have realized were running our lives. Because when fear is making your decisions, fear has the power. But when you become willing to examine what’s underneath the fear, you have the opportunity to choose something different. In this episode, you’ll discover: Why physical and emotional discomfort can be valuable informationHow fear, resistance, and control can keep you repeating old patternsWhy treating the symptom may not address what’s happening underneath itHow your subconscious beliefs and core wounds influence what you allow yourself to receiveWhy vulnerability can require more strength than staying in controlHow discomfort can create the opening for new awareness and new neural pathwaysWhy feeling stuck, frustrated, anxious, or “off” may actually mean you’re ready for changeHow leaning into discomfort instead of running from it can become the beginning of your breakthrough JJ also connects this conversation to the Core Wound Map and the importance of identifying the beliefs underneath our habitual reactions. You can’t change a pattern you don’t know is there—and understanding the root gives you a place to begin. Your discomfort doesn’t have to be something you fear or immediately try to escape. It may be an invitation. You may not be falling apart. You may be standing at the edge of your next breakthrough. https;//jjflizanes.com/restore
Ep. 521: Sexual Energy, Manifestation & the Power of Trying Something New
2026/09/01
What if simply allowing yourself to imagine something different could change the energy of your relationship—and your life—before you ever actually did anything? In this episode, JJ Flizanes is joined once again by Doug Sandler for a candid continuation of their conversation about sexual chemistry, intimacy, desire, manifestation, and what has shifted dramatically in their relationship over the last 30 days. And here's the surprising part: the biggest transformation didn't begin with an action. It began with an idea. A sexual fantasy opened the door to conversations, anticipation, vulnerability, excitement, fear, and an entirely different energy between JJ and Doug. That experience became a real-life example of something JJ has taught for years through the Law of Attraction: if you want to experience a new reality, you have to begin accessing the thoughts, emotions, and energy of that reality before you have physical evidence that it exists. JJ and Doug also explore a question most of us rarely stop to consider: Who actually taught you how to have sex? Most people receive very little education about sexual pleasure, communication, desire, or understanding their own bodies. Yet somehow, we're expected to enter relationships knowing what we want—and knowing how to give our partner what they want. Doug shares openly about the male perspective, including performance anxiety, the pressure to know how to please your partner, and what happens when your partner doesn't necessarily know how to tell you what they want either. JJ also explores the connection between sexual energy, creativity, relationships, manifestation, the nervous system, and physical health—and why sexual expression may be an important part of the bigger conversation about whole-person health. This episode isn't simply about having more sex. It's about becoming curious about the parts of yourself you may never have explored, creating enough safety in a relationship to communicate honestly, and allowing yourself to try on a new possibility. Because sometimes you don't have to know exactly where something is going. Giving yourself permission to imagine, explore, and try something new may be enough to shift your energy—and begin creating a completely different experience. In This Episode:How one fantasy changed the energy of JJ and Doug's relationshipWhy anticipation and imagination can be incredibly powerfulHow to use Law of Attraction to access a reality that doesn't exist yetWhy trying something new can change the way you think, feel, and behaveWhy most adults were never actually taught how to have good sexSexual exploration and discovering what turns you onWhy your partner may not know how to tell you what they needThe pressure men can experience around sexual performanceHow sexual dissatisfaction can affect the rest of a relationshipThe connection between sexual energy, creativity, vitality, and healthCreating safety for honest conversations with your partnerWhy these same principles can apply to sex, money, health, career, and other areas of your life Resources Mentioned:Download JJ's Feelings & Needs List: https://jjflizanes.com/feelingslist Learn more about The Five Levels to Restore Health: https://jjflizanes.com/restore Ready to work with JJ? Ep. 520: The 5 Levels to Restore Health
2026/08/25
What if the reason you’re not fully healing isn’t because you haven’t tried hard enough—but because you’ve been focusing on only one level of health? In this episode, JJ introduces the inspiration behind her upcoming live event, The 5 Levels to Restore Health, and revisits a powerful conversation with Dr. Miriam Rahav exploring Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt’s Five Levels of Healing. The original framework proposes that healing extends far beyond the physical body. And while nutrition, movement, sleep, the microbiome, metabolic health, and other physical interventions are essential, they may represent only one piece of a much larger picture. JJ shares how this concept has influenced the way she now looks at health and healing—and why she believes the different levels must work in both directions. Your thoughts, emotions, nervous system, relationships, and environment can affect your physical health, while your physical health can profoundly influence your mood, resilience, emotional regulation, and ability to heal. This is the foundation for JJ’s expanded approach to the five levels: Physical, Mental, Emotional, Relational & Environmental, and Purpose & Spiritual. In this episode, you’ll explore:Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt’s original Five Levels of Healing frameworkWhy addressing physical symptoms alone may not create lasting healingHow the physical, mental, emotional, relational, environmental, and spiritual aspects of health intersectWhy the body can affect emotional healing just as emotional stress can affect the bodyThe role of the nervous system, beliefs, perception, and environment in healthWhy one healing tool or modality may not be the answer for every person—or every levelHow to begin identifying the level of healing that may be asking for your attentionWhy healing requires more than accumulating information—it requires integration and experience As you listen, consider two important questions: Which level have you spent the MOST time trying to heal? And perhaps more importantly… Which level have you almost completely ignored? The 5 Levels to Restore Health — LIVENovember 6–8, 2026 | Redondo Beach, California JJ is bringing this framework to life in an intimate, interactive weekend designed to move beyond information and into experience, integration, and transformation. Special guest Dr. William Davis, New York Times bestselling author of Wheat Belly, Super Gut, and Undoctored, will join JJ to explore the physical foundations of restoring health. Throughout the weekend, you’ll explore all five levels through science, practical frameworks, guided exercises, meaningful conversations, and experiential learning designed to help you discover what may be missing from your own healing journey. Ep. 519: How to Bring Sexual Chemistry Back Into Your Relationship
2026/08/18
What happens when you love your partner, have a strong relationship, and genuinely enjoy your life together—but the sexual chemistry just isn’t there anymore? Losing desire doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve fallen out of love. Sometimes, what’s missing is polarity—the energetic charge created when two people are connected without becoming so blended that there’s no longer any space, mystery, or tension between them. In this candid conversation, JJ Flizanes and Doug Sandler are joined by sex and relationship expert Dr. Jane Guyn to explore what creates sexual polarity, why it can disappear in long-term relationships, and what couples can do to begin bringing attraction, desire, and playfulness back. Dr. Jane explains that when couples become completely merged—doing everything together, knowing everything about each other, and functioning almost as one unit—it can become difficult to experience the separation necessary for erotic charge. Creating healthy physical and emotional space can actually help couples rediscover each other. JJ and Doug also share openly about their own relationship and the changes they’ve experienced by becoming more conscious of masculine and feminine energy, creating space for individuality, communicating more clearly about what they want, and allowing intimacy to become playful rather than something that has to be performed correctly. In This Episode, You’ll Hear About: What sexual polarity actually means and why it mattersWhy loving someone and desiring someone aren't always the same thingHow becoming too merged with your partner can diminish attractionWhy having your own interests, experiences, and space can create more mystery and sexual chargeMasculine and feminine energy—and why polarity isn't simply about genderWhy high-achieving women who spend much of their lives leading, deciding, organizing, and getting things done may have difficulty shifting into receivingHow men can step more confidently into initiation without women having to make themselves smallerThe importance of communicating what you actually want instead of expecting your partner to figure it outHow performance anxiety, shame, and fear of doing something “wrong” can cause partners to avoid intimacy altogetherWhy safety, trust, patience, and curiosity create room for sexual explorationHow playfulness can help take sex out of the realm of pressure and performanceWhy bringing the spark back isn't necessarily about having more sex—it's about creating a different dynamic between you One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation is that a partner who appears to want less sex may not necessarily want less sex—they may want less of the sex that's currently being offered. That opens an entirely different conversation about desire, communication, pleasure, and what each person actually needs. Sexual chemistry doesn't have to disappear simply because you've been together for years. Sometimes the people capable of creating an entirely new level of intimacy are already there—you just have to create the safety, space, communication, and polarity that allow those parts of you to come forward. Ep. 518: Signs Your Body is Giving You That You're Not Healing
2026/08/11
The Signs Your Body Is Giving You That You’re Not HealingYou may be getting everything done. You’re showing up for work, taking care of your responsibilities, exercising, eating well, and doing all the things you’ve been told will make you healthier. But what if your body is telling you a different story? In this episode, JJ explores the difference between actually healing and simply becoming really good at coping or high functioning. Poor sleep, digestive issues, constant worry, difficulty recovering, recurring illness or injury, chronic tension, emotional reactivity, and a lack of joy can all be signals worth paying attention to. And healing works in both directions. Your mental and emotional state can influence your physical health—but your physical health can also affect your mood, resilience, energy, and ability to regulate your emotions. JJ introduces the 5 Levels to Restore Health—Physical, Mental, Emotional, Relational & Environmental, and Purpose & Spiritual—and invites you to consider whether you've been trying to address your health through only one level while another has been asking for your attention. In this episode:The difference between healing, coping, and high functioningPhysical signs that your system may be strugglingWhy knowing your patterns doesn't necessarily mean you've healed themHow sleep, digestion, stress, inflammation, and recovery can affect emotional healthHow thoughts, emotions, relationships, and environment can influence the bodyWhy healing needs to work in both directionsHow to identify which of the Five Levels may be missing from your healing journeyWhy healing is when you become different in the same situation Take the Quiz: Are You Healing or Just Coping?Discover whether you're creating lasting change—or simply getting better at functioning around patterns that haven't changed. https://jjflizanes.com/stuck The 5 Levels to Restore Health — LIVENovember 6–8, 2026 | Redondo Beach, California Join JJ Flizanes for an intimate, interactive weekend exploring the five interconnected levels that influence your health and ability to heal. Ep. 517: 5 Questions That Turn Triggers Into Healing
2026/08/04
5 Questions That Turn Triggers Into HealingSpirit, Purpose & Energy with JJ Flizanes featuring Doug SandlerIn this deeply personal episode, JJ Flizanes and Doug Sandler pull back the curtain on a recent conflict in their own relationship to demonstrate how emotional triggers can either create distance or become powerful opportunities for healing. Rather than teaching theory, they walk listeners through a real-life example of misunderstanding, emotional reactivity, and ultimately reconnection. JJ explains that triggers are rarely about what another person actually says or does. Instead, they activate old wounds and unconscious beliefs that shape how we interpret situations. By slowing down, asking better questions, and understanding both our own emotional patterns and those of others, conflict becomes a doorway to greater intimacy rather than separation. Throughout the conversation, JJ introduces five powerful questions to ask whenever you're emotionally triggered, along with practical tools like mirroring, the Feelings & Needs List, and Couples Dialogue to help move from survival mode back into conscious connection. Doug offers the perspective of someone experiencing the trigger in real time, making this an honest and relatable conversation for anyone navigating relationships. In This Episode You'll Learn:Why triggers are based on interpretation—not facts. How unresolved core wounds filter everything we hear. The difference between what someone says and what we believe they mean. Why couples often argue about the story instead of the real unmet need. How to identify the wound or belief activated by a trigger. Why understanding what's happening for the other person immediately changes the conversation. How emotional regulation moves you from your survival brain back into your conscious mind. Why healing requires curiosity instead of blame. How vulnerability creates deeper connection than defensiveness. The importance of meeting underlying needs instead of arguing over behaviors. The Five Questions That Turn Triggers Into HealingWhat did I actually interpret? What wound or belief did that interpretation activate? What's going on for the other person? What feelings and unmet needs are underneath the story? What would help us move toward connection instead of protection? They share their honest struggles, surprising breakthroughs, and the habits that finally felt sustainable after years—even decades—of trying everything else. Ep. 515: Could One Shift in Thinking Change Your Health—and Humanity's Future?
2026/07/21
Could One Shift in Thinking Change Your Health and Humanity's Future?with Dr. Bruce LiptonWhat if the biggest threat to your health isn't your genes—but the beliefs you've inherited? In this thought-provoking conversation, Dr. Bruce Lipton returns to the show to challenge one of the most deeply ingrained ideas in modern science: that our genes determine our destiny. Drawing on decades of research in epigenetics, cell biology, and quantum science, Bruce explains why our environment, our perceptions, and our subconscious programming have a far greater influence on our biology than we've been led to believe. But this conversation goes far beyond personal health. Bruce shares why humanity is standing at an evolutionary crossroads. The outdated belief in competition, scarcity, and survival of the fittest has shaped not only our healthcare system, but our economy, relationships, and society as a whole. If we continue operating from those beliefs, we risk creating the very future we fear. Yet by shifting our thinking—from fear to cooperation, from victimhood to personal responsibility—we have the power to transform both our lives and the future of our planet. Together, JJ and Bruce explore how subconscious programming formed in early childhood influences nearly every decision we make, why so many people unknowingly sabotage their own health and relationships, and how becoming conscious of these patterns is the first step toward real healing. If you've ever felt limited by your family history, discouraged by your circumstances, or wondered whether one person can truly make a difference, this episode offers both scientific insight and genuine hope. In this episode, you'll learn:Why your genes are not your destiny—and what actually influences gene expression. The difference between genetic determinism and epigenetics. How your subconscious programming shapes up to 95% of your daily life. Why changing your perception can change your biology. The connection between thoughts, emotions, stress, and physical health. How childhood conditioning influences your relationships, behaviors, and life outcomes. Why Bruce believes humanity must evolve from competition to cooperation. How quantum science supports the idea that our beliefs influence our reality.Practical ways to reclaim your personal power and begin creating a healthier future for yourself—and for humanity. Whether you're passionate about health, personal growth, consciousness, or creating a better world, this conversation will challenge what you think you know about biology and leave you with a renewed sense of possibility. Ep. 514: New Science Behind Reshaping Your Body
2026/07/14
New Science Behind Reshaping Your BodyFor decades, we've been told that reshaping our bodies comes down to one simple formula: eat less and exercise more. But what if that advice is incomplete—or even keeping you stuck? In this episode, JJ Flizanes is joined once again by cardiologist and microbiome pioneer Dr. William Davis to explore the emerging science that's changing how we think about body composition, metabolism, aging, and long-term health. Together, they challenge the outdated focus on weight loss alone and introduce a more comprehensive approach to creating a healthier, stronger, and more resilient body. You'll discover why simply losing weight isn't enough—and how protecting your muscle, restoring your gut, regulating your nervous system, and reducing inflammation are all essential pieces of the puzzle. Dr. Davis explains the fascinating connections between the gut microbiome, liver function, insulin resistance, muscle mass, and abdominal fat, while JJ shares why unresolved emotional stress and nervous system dysregulation can prevent healing even when you're eating well and exercising consistently. Whether you're trying to lose fat, improve your energy, reverse metabolic dysfunction, navigate menopause, or simply age with strength and vitality, this conversation offers a fresh perspective on what's really driving your health. In This EpisodeWhy "lose weight" is an outdated and potentially harmful health goalThe difference between losing weight and reshaping your bodyHow preserving and building muscle protects your metabolism and longevityThe newly discovered gut-muscle, gut-liver, and gut-brain connectionsWhy insulin resistance begins long before diabetesThe hidden role your microbiome plays in fat storage and fatty liverWhy exercise recommendations need to be far more specific than "move more"How resistance training supports healthy aging without creating bulky musclesThe impact of chronic stress, cortisol, and fight-or-flight on digestion, fat storage, and healingWhy emotional regulation is a critical missing piece in lasting body transformationEnvironmental factors—including microplastics, PFAS, and pesticides—that may be influencing your healthPractical ways to measure progress beyond the number on the scaleHow new science is reshaping our understanding of metabolic health and longevity Key TakeawaysYour body isn't simply responding to calories in versus calories out. It's responding to your microbiome, nervous system, hormones, muscle mass, inflammation, environmental exposures, and emotional state. True body transformation isn't about becoming smaller—it's about becoming healthier, stronger, more metabolically flexible, and creating an internal environment where healing can actually occur. Ep. 513: The Family Reunion that Proved My Healing Was Working
2026/07/07
The Family Reunion That Proved My Healing Was Working with TraciEpisode SummaryHow do you know if your healing is actually working? It's not when you understand your wounds intellectually. It's not when you've read all the books, listened to all the podcasts, or can explain your patterns. Real healing is when you're different in the same situation. In this inspiring client spotlight episode, JJ sits down with Traci, a school social worker and longtime member of multiple JJ Flizanes programs, to discuss the profound shifts she's experienced through Rewiring Your Core Wound Patterns, Date Your Body, Heal the Mother Wound, and the 8-Week Body Reset. Traci shares how years of people-pleasing, self-abandonment, perfectionism, and nervous system dysregulation kept her stuck in cycles of reactivity and exhaustion. Through deep emotional healing work, she began identifying the root causes beneath her patterns and learning how to meet her own needs instead of waiting for others to change. The true test of her transformation came during a recent family reunion—a setting that had historically triggered old wounds, competition for attention, and emotional reactivity. This time, she discovered something powerful: she was different. Instead of reacting, she paused. Instead of seeking validation, she felt secure. Instead of viewing love as scarce, she realized love is multiplied, not divided. This conversation offers a real-life example of what emotional healing looks like in practice and how reclaiming self-trust, self-care, and inner safety can transform every area of life. What You'll Learn in This EpisodeHow Traci moved from chronic fight, flight, freeze, and fawn into greater peace and regulationThe difference between understanding your wounds and actually healing themWhy self-abandonment often hides beneath abandonment woundsHow learning to pause changed her relationships and decision-makingThe role of nervous system regulation in emotional healingWhy more information isn't always the answerHow perfectionism can keep you stuck and disconnected from yourselfWhat it means to become "different in the same situation"The surprising lesson Traci learned at a family reunionHow healing helped her stop taking responsibility for other people's emotionsThe connection between emotional healing, self-care, and physical healthWhy community and accountability accelerate transformation Key TakeawayHealing isn't about getting other people to change. It's about changing your relationship to yourself. When you learn to trust your inner guidance, meet your own needs, and stop abandoning yourself, the situations that once triggered you begin to lose their power. The people around you may not change—but your experience of them does. As Traci beautifully shares, healing helped her realize that love is not a limited resource, that she is worthy exactly as she is, and that peace becomes available when she stops chasing approval and starts turning inward. Ep. 512: I Had Read Every Self-Help Book and Still Felt Paralyzed

I Had Read Every Self-Help Book and Still Felt Paralyzed with GosiaWhat happens when you've spent years reading personal development books, listening to podcasts, attending meetings, and collecting information—but still feel stuck? In this heartfelt client spotlight episode, JJ sits down with Gosia to discuss her transformation from feeling frozen, overwhelmed, and unable to move forward to becoming more confident, self-aware, and empowered in her daily life. Gosia shares how she first discovered JJ during one of the most difficult periods of her life while navigating divorce, and how years of personal growth work helped her survive—but not necessarily heal. Despite consuming countless self-help resources and participating in support groups, she still found herself feeling paralyzed, disconnected, and unsure how to create lasting change. Everything shifted when she attended Unleashing Your Manifestation Power and later joined Rewiring Your Core Wound Patterns. Through the combination of community support, accountability, emotional healing tools, and daily application, Gosia began recognizing the difference between knowing information and actually living it. In this episode, we discuss: The hidden struggle of looking successful while feeling stuck internallyWhy collecting information doesn't always create transformationHow unresolved core wounds can keep you trapped in familiar patternsThe difference between coping and healingLearning to identify feelings, needs, and emotional triggersMoving from victim consciousness into personal responsibilityHow emotional healing impacts confidence, relationships, and self-trustWhy accountability and community accelerate growthBreaking free from numbing behaviors like emotional eating, shopping, and avoidanceBecoming "different in the same situation" as a measure of true healing Gosia also shares her experience in both Rewiring Your Core Wound Patterns and the 8-Week Body Reset, revealing how emotional healing and physical health are deeply connected. If you've ever felt like you've done "all the work" but still find yourself repeating the same patterns, this conversation offers hope, inspiration, and proof that real transformation is possible. Ep. 511: 3 Steps to Untangle Messy Emotional Situations
2026/06/23
3 Steps to Untangle Messy Emotional SituationsThe Missing Skill Nobody Taught You About EmotionsWhat if the reason you keep replaying conversations, feeling triggered, shutting down, people-pleasing, or struggling to communicate isn't because something is wrong with you? What if no one ever taught you how emotions actually work? In this episode, JJ introduces one of the most powerful frameworks she has ever used for emotional healing, conflict resolution, nervous system regulation, and personal responsibility. Most people were never taught: How to identify what they're feelingHow to understand their needsHow to navigate emotional situations effectivelyHow to listen underneath the story Instead, we've been taught to react, defend, avoid, cope, or blame. JJ explains why emotional situations become messy and introduces the three questions that can change everything. The Three QuestionsWhat am I feeling? What need isn't being met? What strategy could I use to get that need met? While simple, these questions can transform how you approach conflict, stress, relationships, and communication. Key TakeawaysEmotional situations become complicated when we focus on the story instead of what's happening underneath.Stress, anxiety, frustration, resentment, and overwhelm often point to unmet needs.Your interpretation of an event creates your emotional experience more than the event itself.Core wounds and subconscious beliefs influence how you interpret the world. Most addictive, numbing, or coping behaviors are attempts to avoid uncomfortable emotions.Learning to identify feelings and needs creates greater peace, clarity, and self-awareness.Emotional intelligence begins with taking responsibility for your internal experience.Listening differently can dramatically improve communication and relationships.
