Elly O'Meara and Andy Waterfield mark the last day of Covid vaccinations at Batchwood Hall, St Albans by talking to the medics and volunteers involved in vaccinating tens of thousands of local residents.  We hear about what it was like on the first day and what it is like on the last, the challenges, the positives and the value of volunteering.

These include the Town Mayor Nicola Linacre, Minister from the High Street Methodist Church Mark Hammond and others.

In this second special programme looking back at 2020 Rob Pearman and various Radio Verulam presenters speak to residents of local villages including Redbourn, Sandridge, Wheathampstead and Kimpton. In each case local residents organised themselves to help and support one another and tell their very positive stories.

In the first of three special programmes looking back at 2020, Dereck Staines plus various Radio Verulam presenters speak to a variety of local St Albans residents who tell them some of the positive stories from this unusual year. These include the perspectives from St Albans City & District Council, from the Abbey and local charities dealing with a variety of issues that needed their attention.

Throughout the Covid-19 Lockdown earlier this year many St Albans individuals and businesses made huge efforts to step up to help the vulnerable and those in need in the local community. Working with St Albans Council we at Radio Verulam asked local residents to nominate some of these people as Food Heroes and in this programme we talk to some of the people nominated about what they did and in many cases are still doing. We heard many uplifting and heart warming stories and present some of them here.
