[RERUNS] C2F: Finally our Final Finale (Channel 2 Grand Finale) - orig. rel. 12/28/24
2026/10/14
2026 Show Notes Addendum: Much like the so-called "boss parade" which immediately precedes the final boss battle in so many video games, as I work on producing the grand finale arc of Channel 1 (planned for three installments, though being only two is not completely out of the question), I wanted to fill in the blanks in the aftermath of the Channel F grand finale, "A Fond Farewell to F" with other similar moments in Nerd Noise Radio history - such that by the time all is said and done, between reruns and fresh episodes, Nerd Noise Radio ends with a mini-series of conclusions. The idea being that if you listen to nothing but the Ch F finale to the end, you will get at least the thumbnail of the entirety of Nerd Noise Radio history. A kind of five month zip file of a decade-long run. I'll plan on releasing the two or three part Ch 1 grand finale arc, as well as our grandest of all grand finales NNR total finale over the month of December 2026, so that we put down the mic within days of the decade anniversary of our first picking it up. But as for the gap between early September's "A Fond Farewell to F" and early December's "The Diamond Episode - pt 1", I thought I'd fill the time with re-sharing, first, 2024's Channel 2 grand finale "Finally our Final Finale" in October, followed by both parts of the 2019 Ch 1 episodes 1-49 retrospective "The Golden Episode" mini-series, since the upcoming "The Diamond Episode" is the exact same idea for episodes 51-100 that "The Golden Episode" was for episodes 1-49. So, with that, we'll start with "Finally our Final Finale" - which, with all the Fs involved between "Finally our Final Finale" and "A Fond Farewell to F", I would not fault anybody for getting confused with which one was the Ch 2 finale and which was the Ch F finale. but I can assure you, today's rerun is the farewell to Ch 2 - all 5.5hrs of it (the longest individual contribution to date of our retrospectives, with the upcoming installments NOT expected to exceed it) - and....yes....an episode where I (St. John), do indeed cry on the mic (VERY briefly) in the immediate aftermath of the Prune track - before Hugues very quickly snaps me out of it). See the (otherwise unmodified) original 2024 C2F show notes below, and be prepared for the two part 2019 Golden Episode in November, before, finally, our collection of "final salvos" in December.....and then.....that's it for Nerd Noise Radio. Stay tuned. And meanwhile, please enjoy today's rebroadcast of C2F: Finally our Final Finale....and wherever you are....Fly the N!   --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, this is it, folks - our very last episode of Channel 2, taking a long….VERRRRRRY LONG last look back through the entirety of our show’s history, and featuring at least one track from every single episode! This episode really is obscenely long - just shy of 5 ½ hours! But it covers so much history, and is our way of putting a bow on everything. So we hope you will stick with us for the entire thing! Presented in a hybrid-format of Ch 2-style talkie portions and Ch 1-style mini-mixtapes, and broken up by season.  ------------------------------------------------------------   Intro Segment [00:00:00 - 2026/09/09
Join us for one last look through the complete history of Nerd Noise Radio - Channel F, in a format that lands somewhere in-between The Golden Episode and a one-player Channel 2, with the posture of getting to play historian to our own works - telling the story of each F-isode in series history, in order. [RERUNS] Nerd Noise Radio presents: "Chandlerfest!" (orig. rel. 07/31/2019)
2026/07/31
2026 Show Notes Addendum   Our last chance to share this particular rerun on the anniversary of its release, we present to you - Chandlerfest: our only rerun ever to be so completely retooled. If we're being honest, this broadcast was so heavily amended that it should never have been categorized as a "rerun" episode, but as a Ch F "F-isode" - a thought that's been weighing on me since working on the Channel F finale and not having it appear, the rerun itself only comprises about 45 minutes of the nearly 2.5hr broadcast celebrating the life and music of St. Jodee and I's dear friend Chris on the occasion of what would've been his then 40th [now 47th] birthday. I felt it appropriate to share this one today. If you've already heard it, I hope you will enjoy this trip through the music of this singular individual. And if it's your first time hearing it, then I hope you will explore the man's back catalog even further. Lastly, the original show notes below reference a companion blogspot post with expanded content. Here's the link: https://nerdnoiseradio.blogspot.com/2019/07/nerd-noise-radio-reruns-presents.html   ----------------------   Original Show Notes:   ----------------------   Buried somewhere around the middle of this 2hr, 22min long, profoundly bittersweet, and deeply emotional tribute to my dear friend Chris Chandler on the occasion of what would've been his 40th birthday is a complete, and unmodified rerun of Nerd Noise Radio C1E10 (originally broadcast 05/22/2017) - which itself was originally intended as a tribute to Chris. The music block portion of C1E10 was produced on the day of his passing, 12/28/2016.   Technically, today's production is categorized as a rerun. But only 47 minutes of this 2hrs, 22mins are actually the rerun itself. The rest is a fresh production, brand new, and all dedicated to Chris. [RERUNS] Channel F Introduction (orig rel. 12/24/2017)
2026/05/27
2026 Show Notes Addendum: As we prepare what is slated to become our final ever installment of Nerd Noise Radio - Channel F, I felt it apropos - poetic, even, to make this month's rerun be of our very first ever installment.   As always, please keep in mind how much worse my production quality was all the way back in late 2017 than it is today (both in terms of tools and techniques), and give all that a little grace. A snapshot of a moment in time. However, as you'll see from the even earlier late 2016 rebroadcast included in this transmission, even with as bad as late 2017 production was, it was already much improved over where I had gotten my start about a year earlier. Now, please, enjoy this maiden voyage of our betas and bonuses outlet - including, not one, but BOTH of the two most important, transformative, meaningful, and cherished Christmas memories of my life!   -------------------------- original show notes -------------------------- Tales of the glories of Christmases long long ago.......and tales of the glories of an all-new Channel from the Nerd Noise Radio Network - plus a certain special "re-run" embedded at the end! Merry Christmas (etc), Noisers!!! p.s. First Appearance of the new Nerd Noise Radio logo and background design scheme for 2018. I hope you like it! It's purposely lo-fi, but hope that comes off in the good way, rather than the bad way. Also, as a fledgling (and I mean SUUUUUUPER fledgling) student of Japanese, I just couldn't resist. ;-)
[RERUNS] Ch. F - "Backtracks - THE OTHER 50!" (orig rel 04/28/2020)
2026/04/29
2026 Show Notes Addendum:    To round out our second (and final) visit to the realm of backwards VGM (and very closely related non-VGM) on Nerd Noise Radio, let's replay the 2020 original series, which was also a two-parter, but instead of being two "equal billing" parts, it was a one part "episode proper" and then a supplemental Ch F "F-isode" bonus. In addition to being one of my all-time favorite projects to work on in show history, the series also marked an important turning point in show history as the first installment was our last ever NNR broadcast on the main feed to be produced in GarageBand on MacOS (except for the deliberate call-back that was C1E75 in 2023), and the F-isode was my first ever production in Audacity and Ardour in Linux (then Ubuntu Studio (KDE), now, Fedora (GNOME)). Original Show Notes below are largely faithful to the original with one MASSIVE exception: the tracklist is now populated with all the relevant track info, where it was originally withheld to keep the mystery and mystique alive.   ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Original Show Notes (modified to show track names on 04/20/2026):   ------------------------------------------------------------------------   You are tuned to Nerd Noise Radio – Channel F. Today’s “F-isode” is significant not only for being only the second F-isode we’ve had in over a year, when they used to be quite a bit more common, but is also significant for being the first ever production of Nerd Noise Radio of any type to be produced entirely on Linux. Historically, the show has been produced on Mac. With a small backlog of previously-produced, but not-yet-released music blocks that were, of course, produced on the Mac still in reserve for future episodes, it will be some time yet before the Mac presence fades from the show completely. But it is my hope to do the lion’s share of future all-new production on Linux moving forward. So, the shift will be a glide, rather than a snap. But that shift starts...here.    Longtime listeners of the show will know full well what a Channel F F-isode is, but a pair of really beautiful things happened early this month which will have brought new attention to the show, from faces as near and dear as my fellow Des Moinesers (and surrounding communities), to as far-flung as Linux fans all the world over. For an explanation of what Channel F is, and how it relates to Nerd Noise Radio as a whole for the newcomers, as well as the details of who and what the new faces are, and how all that came about, see below. Also, for a descripton of how this F-isode relates to our April Fool’s episode, “Backtracks”, see the blog....or just sit, back, relax, and enjoy, as you listen to.....”The OTHER 50”!     Timestamps provided, but track details withheld for now in case anyone wanted to play the guessing game on the tracks. A follow-up blog post on April 30th will provide the entire track list information for both Backtracks and for today’s outing. So, be on the lookout for that.    In the meantime, enjoy!    Tracklist (ALL TRACKS ARE PLAYED IN REVERSE - except Intro)! The mini-article appears in the April Issue of the magazine which can be viewed online (Link below). In addition to that, Jason Evangelho, a tech-writer for Forbes Magazine who focuses on Linux very generously boosted my tweets about my first production in Linux, which went on to become the most liked and retweeted tweet in my history on the platform. I make it a point to look at “the numbers” as little as possible, so I don’t know how many (if any) of the new faces stuck around. But certainly a number of them at least had a peek. If you are a new face, either brought to the show through the Cityview article, or through Jason’s buff of my tweet, get a hold of me to let me know you’re here!     Presuming we did have at least a few stick around, I should give an explanation of what Channel F is, relative to Channel 1, and Archive Super Bonuses, so you know how this show works. I will do so at length on the blogspot version of this episode, where the blog format is more accommodating of lengthiness. But I will give you a brief overview here:     Channel 1: This is “the show proper”. These are “the actual episodes”. On average, 10 fresh episodes a year (with reruns to fill in the blanks). Other than extraordinary circumstances, they follow a standard “enhanced mixtape” format: a short, semi-standard intro, and standard housekeeping outro bookending a winding, twisting journey through sound. We have had quite the spate of non-standard “Channel 1” Episodes of late though, so for the newcomers, I wanted to stress wha

Lastly: in case anyone is wondering what on earth is happening in the outro: I figured since it would be backwards, and nobody would ever hear it forward unless they either took the initiative to reverse the file themselves, or else find the [quote] "UNBACKED" version on Archive.org, they'd never know what on earth was being said, I decided to forego the standard outro script, and just go nuts. I read a chocolate chip cookie recipe I found online on the spot, and included snippets from every previous episode blooper reel in show history to that point as well as various other sound clips, such as slow-mo vids of my kids, and fresh snippets provided by my brother-in-law Brian Peterson. Anyway, that's what's happening in the outro. I wanted it to be as preposterous and baffling and chaotic as possible!   ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Original Show Notes (modified to show track names on 04/20/2026):   ------------------------------------------------------------------------   Today’s broadcast is C1E52 for Wayback Wednesday, April 1st, 2020. It’s April 1st, dear listeners, and we haven’t had a retrospective in AGES! In such dark, uncertain days as we face today, it’s extra important to have a look back at brighter, clearer, saner days as a reminder that as the wheel of time continues to churn, we will inexorably find our way back.   So, sit back and relax as we travel back through 2hrs 25min, and 56 sec of Nerd Noise History and Nostalgia on a program we’re calling “Backtracks”.   It is certain to be an experience unlike any other!   Tracklist (ALL TRACKS ARE PLAYED IN REVERSE - except Intro)! Discussion of what remains on the roadmap for the remainder of the life of Nerd Noise Radio, the "what's definite", the "what's possible", and a proposed middle ground, if I don't have enough time for the maximum, but more than enough time for the minimum. This special announcement is intended to give listeners a heads up for what the end of NNR might look like, so that it's not a jarring, sudden, potentially traumatic event for them, as the sudden closure of certain other shows in history had been to me.   Background Music: Repose - from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment: Nintendo Switch 2 - Keiichi Okabe, Ryuichi Takada, Kuniyuki Takahashi, Oliver Good, Keita Inoue, and/or Taichi Joraku

Definitely not another backwards episode. Nope. No sir. Uhuh. Just six years esion tseb eht fo. Special thanks to St. Jodee, St. August, and St. Wyatt for joining me in the outro. Intro was recorded on Shure SM7B dynamic microphone running through a Cloudlifter Preamp for superior sound quality. Outro was recorded on AudioTechnica AT2020 condenser microphone for better ability to pick up sounds further away from the mic (important when capturing four different people standing or sitting varying distances away from it). All were recorded using the Focusrite 4i4 XLR-to-USB audio interface into a mix of Audacity and Ardour in Fedora Linux Pt 2 releases simultaneously to Pt 1.

Part 2 of a 2 part series.   Okay, pt 1 turned out to be a backwards episode after all, didn’t it (who could’ve predicted?!) But that doesn’t mean that pt 2 has to be that too, right? Maybe pt 2 will be about VGM which uses the fibonacci sequence to reinforce fourier operations in Fortnite. Or maybe a sob story about how a chip shortage on the YM2612 is resulting in poachers hunting and killing Sega Genesis…es… to harvest their YM2612 chips for boutique jewelry. Or heck, maybe it’s just the Excitebike soundtrack. I guess you’ll just have to find out, won’t you? Special outro music is First time Setup from the Switch 2 - composed by Kazumi Totaka (and might I add, one of the biggest teases in the history of video games for Switch 2 adopters like myself who still missed the music-filled Wii and WiiU system suites and were given a little jolt of false hope by it for the new system).   Here is a link to a document which contains details (and links) on every previous NNR April Fools outing: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1K2I0F04kBy4vEAKLAfY3QrIEHVvr9uOIuTJBepoI39c/edit?usp=sharing As well as this link to the spreadsheet I used to plan out these two episodes (apologies for the partially corrupted data. I’m not even sure how that happened). :-D https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sVAx-IQdvs1gXuB0nA7bJX1yepXAx47fTb5Y5GsPNlQ/edit?usp=sharing NOTE: I had intended to pull from not just “St. John” episodes, but from every best-of episode 2019-2025, but ran into my 100 before even getting to the non-St. John episodes. I’ll include reversed copies of each mixtape (both used and unused) on this spreadsheet as SUPER BONUSES over on Archive as well as “Backtracks UNBACKED” and “Backtracks - Back-to-Front”. So you can hear everything I heard in the process of putting this together.   Intro and outro recorded on Shure SM7B dynamic microphone running through a Cloudlifter Preamp through the Focusrite 4i4 XLR-to-USB audio interface into a mix of Audacity and Ardour in Fedora Linux.    Pt 1 released simultaneously to Pt 2.

[RE-RUN] C2E16: "Songs with Words" (orig rel. 03/07/2024)
2026/01/28
2026 Show Notes Addendum: Our last [for now] Ch 2 rerun (our last Ch 2 rerun specifically shared with incoming NintenDomain listeners in mind in the wake of the recent Ch F "Channel Trey" one-off) This was the first episode of the last season of Ch 2 - the one where we announced to the listeners that Ch 2 would be shutting down, as well as the episode where I revealed my then very recently discovered African and Jewish ancestry. This episode also has the distinction of being my personal favorite episode in Ch 2 history with perhaps the lone exception of the 5 1/2hr long "C2F: 'Finally our Final Finale'" series retrospective. You can also hear our very last non-retrospective Ch 2, C2E20: "....all good things...." if you look back to the NNR Dec 2025 podcast feed. And with that.....NintenDomain fans now have had a great look at the seeds to what went on to make "Channel Trey", while long-time NNR fans get a look back on a handful of really great moments in Ch 2 (and "quasi-channel 2") history. Enjoy this last [for now] installment! :-) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------Original 2024 Show Notes------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Today’s Broadcast is C2E16 for Theme Thursday, March 7th, 2024. [RE-RUN] C2E1: "Songs of the Pandemic" - the first "official" ep of Ch 2 (orig rel. 09/17/2020)
2026/01/21
2026 Show Notes Adendum: This was the very first "official episode" of Ch 2 - approx 9 months after Hugues and I's "fun one-off", which at the time had no strings attached! PRODUCTION CAVEATS:  Just like the 2019 one-off, this was recorded using an M-Audio MobilePre XLR-to-USB audio interface and AudioTechnica AT2020 condenser mic, and was recorded down in a very echoey basement room. Also, I hadn't [yet] started editing out the "ums" yet. However, unlike the 2019 one-off, I had moved onto Linux by this point, so it was produced in a mix of Audacity and Ardour, rather than in GarageBand and was produced on a 2017 Dell Latitude 7480 laptop (docked to an external monitor, KBM, and sound system) rather than on a 2014 Mac Mini. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------Original 2020 Show Notes------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It’s the Dawning of a new Era! [RERUN] "Nerd Noise Game Club" - the one-off which later became "Channel 2" (orig. 12/19/2019)
2026/01/16
2026 Show Notes Addendum: If you're a NintenDomain listener who is new to NNR from Trey and I's "Nerd Noise Radio - Channel Trey" one-off simulcast collaboration, then this rerun should be uniquely interesting to you! So, "Channel Trey" was a one-off between Trey and I, in the style of an episode of the now-defunct "Nerd Noise Radio - Channel 2" which I used to do with Hugues Johnson of Retro Game Club (so, another "so and so Johnson" out of Chicago), only with Trey at the mic instead of Hugues. It was in the exact style and format of Channel 2.  Well, funnily enough, what went on to become Channel 2 also began life as a similar fun one-off between Hugues and I all the way back in December 2019. And here is that 2019 one-off. Hugues and I's 6yr earlier parallel to Trey and I's recent outing. This was before I knew I was AuDHD (Autistic + ADHD), and before I knew I possessed African and Jewish ancestry. It was also before I started editing out the "ums". But it's remarkable to me how "different yet the same" it feels to our official Ch 2 episodes which came later, or "Channel Trey" which rose from the ashes of the now-defunct Ch 2. PRODUCTION CAVEATS: At this point, I had not switched from Mac to Linux, so I was using Garageband in MacOS on a late 2014 Mac Mini. Also, I had not yet upgraded to the Focusrite 4i4 (3rd Gen) XLR-to-USB interface, still using the lesser M-Audio MobilePre, and had not yet upgraded to the RODE Podmic dynamic microphone, let alone my current Shure SM7B, but was still using my original AudioTechnica AT2020 condenser mic, and lastly, was recording in a very very echoey room with no noise cancellation. But apart from inferior hardware, software, and production techniques, and apart from this being my very first time ever doing something even remotely like this, the seeds of all NNR Channel 2 episodes, as well as the seeds of "Channel Trey" are all very much present here! This is where it all started: Channel 2, Channel Trey.....all of it! My intent for this month is to also rerun not only our very first  official Ch 2 episode from Sept 2020, but also C1E16: "Songs with Words", the first episode of the last season, and what in my personal opinion is the very best Ch 2 episode of all, perhaps save for C2F, our "series finale". Also, if you look back to December 2025 on the NNR podcast feed, you can also catch C2E20: "...all good things...", our final non-retrospective episode of Ch 2. So, if your first experience with Nerd Noise Radio was "Channel Trey", then you'll get to hear a lot of the context behind that episode! In any case, enjoy the rogue one-off that became an entirely new Nerd Noise Radio program, which would ultimately culminate in yet another rogue one-off with Trey Johnson of NintenDomain!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------Original show notes---------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- St. John of "Nerd Noise Radio" and Hugues Johnson of "Retro Game Club" (and "The Retro League" alum) join forces to cover and discuss some of their favorite pieces of VGM from the 2010's. It's about what you'd expect if you put Retro Game Club / The Retro League, Nerd Noise Radio, Legacy Music Hour, and an entire decade of VGM in a blender....ooh, or maybe the hadron collider! For the time-being, this is just a one-time "one-off" special, but if there is enough demand from either, or especially both of our respective listener pools, then we're open to making this an ongoing (albeit occasional, and likely irregular) thing. "Nerd Noise Radio - Channel 2", maybe? ;-) Anyway, the power is yours, listeners! Make your voices heard! In the meanwhile? [Ch F]: "Nerd Noise Radio - Channel Trey" (feat. Trey Johnson - our tracks of 2025)
2026/01/08
Today's broadcast is a fun one-off between Trey Johnson of NintenDomain and W.A.R.T. Radio fame and myself in the style of a Nerd Noise Radio - Channel 2 epiosde with the theme of "tracks we discovered in 2025".    Apologies for the absurdist length - but if you miss Ch 2, I think this one will scratch that itch for you! Also reminder that what would eventually go on to become Channel 2 also started as a fun one-off between Hugues and I, so you never know what the future holds! (I'll re-run that 2019 Ch F between Hugues and I later this month for contrast).   Tracklist:   Track# - Track - Game - System(s) - Composer(s) - Selected By   01) Zebra Bananza - DK Bananza - Switch 2 - Daisuke Matsuoka, Reika Nakai, Yuri Goto, and/or Tsukasa Usui, Noato Kubo - Trey          a) Introductory Earcatcher - 00:00:00          b) Music - 00:00:03          c) Introduction - 00:02:13          d) Top of the Show - 00:03:56          e) Discussion - 00:20:09   02) PerfecT Shape - to a T - Multiplatform - c: Sakai Asuka and/or Keita Takahashi / v: Sam Bird - St. John          a) Music - 00:26:25          b) Discussion -00:28:12   03) When the Moon's Reaching Out Stars - Persona 3 Reload - Multiplatform - c: Shoji Meguro / a: Atsushi Kitajoh / v: Azumi Takahashi - Trey          a) Music - 00:45:00          b) Discussion - 00:48:37   04) Starview Peak - Mario Kart World - Switch 2 - Maasa Miyoshi, Takuhiro Honda, Yutaro Takakuwa, and/or Atsuko Asahi - St. John          a) Music - 00:54:59          b) Discussion - 00:56:50   05) Kronos Island (First Lap) - Sonic Racing Crossworlds - Multiplatform - Takahiro Kai, Tae Fujimoto, Kanon Oguni, Hidekuni Horita, Iona Takashima, Hiroki Kiriyama, Satoshi Okamura, Makoto Tokuyama, Satoshi Oike, Keisuke Tsukahara, and/or Saki Tsuda - Trey          a) Music - 01:03:48          b) Discussion - 01:06:17   06) Race Music 2 - New Star GP - Multiplatform - Benjamin Rooker, Alistair Edmond, Viraj Ramsharan, Giovanni D'Ambrosio, and/or Declan Birchall - St. John          a) Music - 01:19:49          b) Discussion - 01:22:11   07) Captain Falcon - F-Zero GX/AX - Game Cube - Hidenori Shoji - Trey          a) Music - 01:29:33          b) Discussion - 01:33:03   08) RedWood Forest - Fast Fusion - Switch 2 - Bjulin, and/or Francisco Cerda - St. John          a) Music - 01:39:32          b) Discussion - 01:43:17   09) Fury Green - Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Switch / Switch 2 - Kenji Yamamoto - Trey          a) Music - 01:49:22          b) Discussion - 01:52:35   10) The First Day - Dungeons of Hinterberg - Multiplatform - David Zahradnicek, and/or Markus Zahradnicek - St. John          a) Music - 02:02:12          b) Discussion - 02:06:18   11) Lumiose City (Day) - Pokemon Legends Z-A - Switch / Switch 2 - Minako Adachi, Hiromitsu Maeba, Carlos Eiene, Shinji Hosoe, Ayako Sasō, Takahiro Eguchi, Hitomi Sato, and/or Shota Kageyama - Trey          a) Music - 02:14:02          b) Discussion - 02:18:05   12) Eggshell Hotel - DK Bananza - Switch 2 - Daisuke Matsuoka, Reika Nakai, Yuri Goto, and/or Tsukasa Usui, Noato Kubo - St. John          a) Music - 02:28:24          b) Discussion - 02:32:20   13) Royal Capital of Grancel - Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC - Multiplatform - Wataru Ishibashi - Trey          a) Music - 02:42:02          b) Discussion - 02:45:28   14) Pull of the Light - God of War: Ragnarok - PS4 / PS5 / PC - Bear McCreary - St. John          a) Music - 02:51:32          b) Discussion - 02:53:16   15) Black Tar - Xenoblade X - WiiU - Hiroyuki Sawano - Trey          a) Music - 02:59:13          b) Discussion - 03:05:27   16) First Time Setup - N/A (System Music) - Switch 2 - Kazumi Totaka - St. John          a) Music - 03:10:40          b) Discussion - 03:13:09   17) Level 1 (Velgress) - UFO 50 - Multiplatform - Eirik Suhrke - Trey          a) Music - 03:21:01          b) Discussion - 03:22:49   18) Okada Clan HQ - Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons - Multiplatform - Arman Aspromonti  - St. John          a) Music - 03:28:33          b) Discussion - 03:31:24   19) Pride from Despair - Yakuza Kiwami 2 - PS4 / XB1 / PC - Hidenori Shoji, Yuri Fukuda, Chihiro Aoki, Saori Yoshida, and/or Takiya Kuroda - Trey          a) Music - 03:40:36          b) Discussion - 03:45:06          c) End of Show - 03:56:07          d) Closing Track Discussion - 04:01:09          e) Final Self-Promos - 04:03:05          f) Sign-off - 04:05:56   20) Credits Song (Legends of Trivia) - Jackbox Party Pack 11 - Multiplatform - Nate Sandberg - St. John            a) Music - 04:06:22            b) Outtake - 04:09:35   Total Episode Runtime: 04:17:38   You can find NintenDomain here:   https://nintendomainpodcast.com/   And you can find the NDM Episode 500 link here (where I make a cameo in the final 3/4 of the episode):   https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/500-500-500-500-a-guest-for-every-hundred-we-made/id1055861408?i=1000741049701   NintenDomain can also be found on the podcatcher of your choice, as well as on most social media platforms!   As for Nerd Noise Radio, be on the look out for that 2019 Ch F rerun, probably a proper Ch 2 rerun, and of course, C1R8 - our Channel 1 "2025 best of year in review episode". [RERUNS] C2E20: "....all good things".... (orig rel. 10/24/2024)
2025/12/24
2025 Show Notes addendum:   In light of the release of C1E100 (the final "non-retrospective" Ch 1), I thought it would also be good to release C2E20 (the final "non-retrospective" Ch 2) as a nice tie-in. Though my production quality has improved somewhat since late 2024, it is nowhere even remotely close to the quantum leap that is the difference between my Dec 2025 and my Jan 2017 production quality difference with C1E1. Channel 2 was a COMPLETELY different kind of show, though. Rather than being a vaguely NPR-esque mixtape-style program that was "less a podcast per se" and more "a late nite FM radio music program which just so happened to go out over the podosphere", Ch 2 was a "proper podcast" with a co-host out of Chicago and myself taking turns sharing tracks and talking about them. We wrapped the show at the end of 2024 because my co-host had been podcasting since 2009, and would be turning 50 in 2025, and so he decided at the end of 2023 that he would be retiring completely from podcasting at the end of 2024, and I didn't feel like replacing him, so we just wrapped it together. Anyway, since we referenced C2E20 and even featured a few tracks from it in C1E100, and since we're rerunning C1E1, I figured I'd rerun this too. By the way: that one upcoming Ch F one-off with Trey Johnson of NintenDomain and W.A.R.T. Radio will be in this exact format - only, obviously, a different co-host.   Anyway....enjoy! Also, this rerun will release on Christmas Eve. So, Merry Christmas to anyone who celebrates it - and a belated Happy Hannukah to anyone who celebrates it instead (I celebrate both, myself!) :-D   ------------------------------------------------------   orig show notes   Today’s Broadcast is C2E20, for Theme Thursday, Oct 24th, 2024. All good things must come to an end. Today is the final “regular” (as in, “final non-retrospective” episode - and as opposed to “final all time” episode). This will be the final episode where we bring new tracks to the show, though. So it is still an ending. The theme, therefore, is ending music, on a program we’re calling “...all good things…”   Track# / Track / Game / System / Composer(s) / Selected By   01) Summer Vacation - Tokyo Xanadu - Multiplatform - Takahiro Unisuga (Falcom Sound Team jdk) - Hugues Earcatcher - 00:00:00 Music - 00:00:03 Introduction - 00:05:23 Top of Show Business - 00:06:14 The Reveal of last episode’s mystery themes - 00:09:44 Discussion - 00:24:38 02) Credits - Sonic 2 - Genesis - Masato Nakamura - St. John Music - 00:30:16 Discussion - 00:33:01 03) Staff Roll - Phantasy Star III - Genesis - Ippo Takeuchi - Hugues Music - 00:35:17 Discussion - 00:37:15 04) Ending - Super Castlevania IV - SNES - Masanori Adachi and/or Taro Kudo - St. John Music - 00:42:07 Discussion - 00:44:46 05) Ending - Another World - Amiga - Jean-François Freitas - Hugues Music - 00:54:53 Discussion - 00:56:27 06) Triforce Chamber - LoZ: Link to the Past - SNES - Koji Kondo Music - 01:00:40 Discussion - 01:02:09 07) The Credits Concerto - Donkey Kong Country - SNES - David Wise and/or Eveline Fischer - Hugues Music - 01:08:45 Discussion - 01:10:43 [EDITOR’s NOTE: I partially confused Vangelis with fellow Greek musician, Iasos.
