Frank continues his study of 1st Corinthians with this message entitled "Be Confident" Place your confidence in the Lord... not in yourself. Overconfidence is a sure way to fall into temptation. Living on the edge of overconfidence may lead you to fall into: 1) Idolatry 2) Sexual immorality 3) Trying God 4) Complaining

We've studied about and are familiar with the idea "die to oneself to win others to Christ" but are we aware just like in Paul's time - people are examining our lives to see if they match up with what we preach and teach. Are we really being the Christians we say we are? Fellow believers certainly watch as well. As a good indicator, do our wives, kids and grandkids see us reading the bible, teaching the bible, praying and actively participating in the family of God?

The message is entitled "To win them" - winning people to Christ. There are times to surrender our freedoms/rights, times of self denial and times of self control. Watch Clay King preach the next lesson in the Messy Church series about 1st Corinthians.

Application questions... 1) Do I know and understand my role at home and in the church? 2) If so what am I purposely doing to fulfill those roles? 3) If not what am I doing to know and understand my roles? Challenge... Do something purposeful every day this week to make your wife feel loved. Clay says - He's praying for you!

Frank continues his study of 1st Corinthians - here he tells of his big idea: The purpose of the Gospel is to change people not society... However, changed people can't help but change society.

Clay's follow up to the Band of Brothers 3 26 25 What does a Godly marriage look like? What is my part as the husband in making sure my marriage glorifies God? Challenge: Read Ephesians 5:25-33 Go through those verses with your wife and ask her how you can better show her a Christ-like love.

Frank continues his preaching and teaching through 1st Corinthians. This sermon deals with the marriage relationship - originated by God and distorted by the world. A Christian marriage puts the glory of God on display for all to see...and that is worth fighting for.

Clay reiterates Franks's message from Sunday but also takes time to get real with us - real about the temptations in our life. As men we are especially vulnerable to the sexual messages and graphic images in our society today. Never in history has porn been so readily available - and in a form that can be easily hidden (cell phones) However we may try and hide it and its effects on us, our marriage and children but that's a lie - Satan laughs as we slip more and more into addiction. The key is having God and other brothers in your life to confess to - brothers to pray with and to hold you accountable. Together we can make the positive strides we want to make. Find a brother to help you in your struggle and in turn you can help another as you begin to succeed.

Based on Frank's message Sunday - Clay expands the conversation about the topic - 1st Corinthians - "You are not who you used to be" - don't let the enemy sway your thinking - "Don't live that way". Ask your family if they believe you are living like Jesus at home, ask your kids... What's your example really like - prepare for some honest answers. Take advantage of God's power living within you to make the changes you want to make - you ARE different - you are not who you used to be - so be victorious and live that way.
