The Book of Romans - Part 6

Victory Over Sin
The Book of Romans - Part 5
2026/09/20
In Adam, In Christ Romans 5 shows us the profound difference between what we have in Adam and what we receive in Christ. Through Adam, sin entered the world, death began to reign, and judgment brought condemnation. But through Jesus Christ, God gives grace, righteousness, justification, and life. Because we have been justified by faith, we now have peace with God through Jesus Christ. We can rejoice in the hope of God’s glory, even in suffering, because God is at work in us. And we can rejoice because, through Christ, we have been reconciled to God. Our hope is not found in ourselves or in our ability to overcome sin. Our hope is found in Jesus Christ, whose one righteous act brings justification and life. In Adam: sin, death, and condemnation. In Christ: grace, righteousness, justification, and life.

Secured By Christ What does saving faith look like? In Romans 4, Paul points us to Abraham as an example of genuine faith—not a faith that earns righteousness, but a faith that trusts the God who graciously gives it. Saving faith begins with God. It is not something we manufacture or earn. It is given by grace, extended to all who believe in Christ, and strengthened as we trust the promises of God. Abraham believed God even when the circumstances seemed impossible. He did not place his confidence in himself, but in the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that do not exist. And the same righteousness credited to Abraham is credited to those who believe in Jesus Christ. We can’t earn it. God provides it. Faith embraces it. Christ secures it. Join us as we walk through Romans 4 and consider what genuine saving faith looks like.

Faith, Not Works In Romans 3, Paul makes clear that our standing before God cannot be earned through our obedience, morality, or religious performance. The law exposes our sin, but it cannot save us. Every person stands guilty before God, yet God graciously gives the righteousness we could never earn through faith in Jesus Christ. Because of God's grace, there is no room for boasting. We are justified by faith apart from works—not because God ignores our sin, but because Christ has dealt with our sin through His blood. This changes the way we see ourselves, others, and our faith. We don't follow Christ to prove what we can do; we treasure our faith because of what Christ has already done.

From the Inside Out "The kindness of God leads you to repentance." Paul writes that to people who thought they were fine — the religious, the informed, the ones who could say "at least I'm not like them." In Romans 2 he shows us that God has never been after better behavior. He's after our hearts. We aren't merely uninformed and in need of better information; we are spiritually dead and in need of regeneration. And that's exactly what God, in His kindness, gives. The gospel transforms us from the inside out.

Because of Christ
2 Thessalonians - Part 2
2026/08/16
Jesus is coming again. But how should that truth change the way we live right now? In 2 Thessalonians 2–3, Paul encourages believers not to be shaken or distracted by confusion about Christ's return. Instead, we are called to stand firm in the truth, trust God's sovereignty, and faithfully participate in the mission He's given us. We wait for Christ not as spectators, but as participants. Pray. Proclaim. Persevere.
2 Thessalonians - Part 1
2026/08/09
In the first chapter of 2 Thessalonians, Paul gives thanks for a church whose faith and love keep growing—even as they endure persecution and affliction. Pastor Sean Clarke walks through 2 Thessalonians 1:1–12, looking at what God does in His people through suffering and why the return of Christ gives believers reason to persevere.
When You...

Jesus teaches that giving, prayer, and fasting are expected rhythms of the Christian life—but never as a way to earn God's favor. In this message from Matthew 6, we explore how these spiritual disciplines flow from God's grace and draw us into deeper communion with Him. Rather than changing God's heart toward us, they transform our hearts to trust, desire, and depend on Him more fully.
The Parables of Jesus - Part 3
2026/07/26
The Forgiving King Jesus’ parable of the unforgiving servant confronts us with the immeasurable mercy of God and the call to forgive others from the heart. Biblical forgiveness does not mean pretending the wrong never happened, immediately restoring the relationship, erasing consequences, or instantly removing the pain. Instead, forgiveness releases the offense to God, reflects the mercy we have received from Him, and reveals Christ’s sanctifying work within us. As we pray specifically, confess our sinful responses, and remain surrendered to Christ, forgiven people learn to forgive.

Laborers in the Vineyard The landowner pays everyone the same wage — and the all-day workers grumble. This message from Matthew 20 unpacks how confusing earned wages with given grace breeds entitlement, how comparison turns gratitude into resentment, and how remembering we were once "outside the vineyard" turns our work into worship.
The Parables of Jesus - Part 1
2026/07/12
The Good Samaritan A lawyer asks Jesus, "What shall I do to inherit eternal life?" — and Jesus answers with the parable of the Good Samaritan. In Part 1 of The Parables of Jesus, we discover that the Law is a mirror, not a ladder, and that the true Good Samaritan is Christ Himself, whose love is compassionate, caring, costly, and complete.

The Book of 2 Timothy - Part 4
2026/06/28
The Two Kingdoms Paul's final charge to Timothy reminds every believer to faithfully preach God's Word, endure hardship, and fulfill the ministry God has entrusted to them. This message contrasts the temporary priorities of the world with the eternal hope found in Christ and challenges us to live with our eyes fixed on His appearing rather than the passing comforts of this life.
The Book of 2 Timothy - Part 3
2026/06/21
In 2 Timothy 3, Paul warns Timothy that difficult days will come—not merely because of unbelievers outside the church, but because of people who claim godliness while denying its power. Paul contrasts counterfeit faith with authentic faith and calls believers to remain anchored in Christ, committed to the church, and grounded in God's Word. As followers of Jesus, we are called to recognize false teaching, pursue genuine Christlike character, persevere through hardship, and remain steadfast in the Scriptures that equip us for every good work. Authentic faith isn't measured by information alone, but by transformation through the power of Christ.
