Brooklyn-based singer, Chapman Stick player, and multi-instrumentalist Alex Nahas aka Bright Brown confronts our collective existentialism in his hypnotizing new hit “Aimless”. Delivering reflective vocals and an addictive instrumental loop, “Aimless” questions our continued desire to set lofty goals despite knowing that there’s only so much that we can control. The pandemic proved that life is capable of throwing us unpredictable turns in events, making it that much harder to plan and devise. So instead of planning ahead, “Aimless” is about living in the moment and the beauty of being present during uncertainty as we continue to take life one fickle day at a time. Ironically, the first time Nahas performed “Aimless” was a few days before everything shut down for COVID. Hailing from Philadelphia's burgeoning punk scene, Riverside Odds is back with a hard-hitting track that any visitor to rock n roll will relate to. "Blessings from the Devil" shares a glimpse of some of the darker, more vice-driven elements of the rock n roll lifestyle through a unique lens of personal accountability. Instrumentally energetic, the album explodes with stunning guitar riffs and lead vocals by original band member RW Hellborn, lead guitar by Matty Cobra, impactful bass by Eddie Spaghetti from Supersuckers and the intensity of Jorge Disguster from The Hangmen's captivating drum lines (LIVE band includes G. Patrick Poli on bass & Ginger Knight on drums). I got the chance to speak with RW Hellborn about the single and heres what he had to say.  

I got the chance to speak with Singer/Songwritter Carrie Baxter. Carrie who now lives in London provided amazing details on how her newest single "YOU" was created.  Speaking on the track, Carrie explains; "If I could do an alternate version of every track I would, specifically just me and a pianist (my favourite instrument) There’s something about the romance of this song and it needing a piano on this version. The space I have to sing and the words being allowed to breath is the stuff I live for. The live video, accompanying the release, is a stunning one-take visual illumination of the raw talent of Carrie. Recorded totally live, with absolutely zero tweaks to the audio or visual, it is fair to say the video is an honest reflection of this burgeoning artist’s unique vocals, immense potential and a humble offering of what a Carrie Baxter live show would offer. Speaking on the video, Carrie states; “I love singing live, ultimately it’s what I do it for. Model, podcast host and rock n roll goddess Demi Ramos gears up to release her newest single “Killer 4U”. Co-produced with Geoffrey Hufford of Two Feet, Demi’s new track shows off a dynamic range for the young artist, tapping into a variety of musical styles that allow “Killer 4U” to resonate with a wide audience. Introducing elements of trap and hip hop to what was originally meant to be an acoustic hit, Demi and Geff fused nostalgic punk rock energy with modern influences to create a larger than life hit perfect for late summer vibes. Many would describe Demi’s sound as ‘Nirvana’ meets ‘Madonna’. During the quarantine of 2020, she wrote and co-produced “Killer 4U”, combining her hair raising rock musical themes with a modern electronic trap sheen. Lyrically, the song tells the fantasy of a New York City romance - with sex, drugs and rock and roll. A perfect way to end "hot girl summer".

Formed in 2013, The Foxfires were quick to cultivate their own unique sound and subgenre called Seagaze, combining the psychedelic nature of shoegaze, the energy and dance of pop-rock and post-punk, and the oceanic ambience of surf rock with a positive message. They have performed over 450 shows across the East Coast, South, and Midwest while releasing five singles, two EPs, and one full length record.   

Beloved jazz world artist Pauline Jean releases her newest single “Ain’t I A Woman (Singing Truth)” on the 55th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, a law signed to end racial discrimination in voting. I got the chance to speak with Pauline and we had a great conversation. Paired ahead of another milestone, marking the 100-year anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment, Pauline Jean’s new video reminds the world of the continued fight for women's rights. In her captivating new music video, Pauline Jean sings Sojourner Truths words “Ain’t I A Woman?”, referring to the racial prejudices that have contributed to Black women’s invisibility for centuries. Pauline intends her song to generate awareness of voter registration, women in leadership, gender equality and violence against women. She prays that Sojourner Truth becomes a household name and that her legacy is celebrated annually to value and build upon her immense contributions toward the advancement of Black women’s rights in America.  

Rising alt rock band Kuwalla has captured our hearts with the release of their timely new single, “Just Fine.” The song was written when band member Kyle Sain was raising his first child with his girlfriend; the three of them were homeless, couch hopping, and living in the car they used to drive him back and forth from the Inland Empire to Orange County for work. “I wanted this song to be kind of anthemic. I want people to feel like this song is a hand on their back reassuring them through the hard times.” says Kyle. Starting in 2018, the LA-based band began playing shows up and down the west coast to test out their new-found beloved sound in front of LIVE audiences. Show history includes House of Blues, The Roxy, Resident LA and many more. From Michigan, Mikeyy's influences come from his beginnings singing in the church and they translate seamlessly to a live band set-up, successfully drawing lovers of soul, jazz and Hip Hop alike. Having been a key performer of Madison, Wisconsin's Black Arts Matter Festival, Mikeyy is well-respected by fans across the midwest. His experience playing a sold out regional Sofar Sounds tour in 2019 expanded his fan base to the east coast and he plans to only get bigger from there.   His 13 song LP "Greenhouse" is said to have achieved serenity under a soulful boom-bap soundbite.
