Week 5: The Architecture of Authentic Joy
2026/10/05
What happens to your joy when life doesn't go according to plan? In Habakkuk 3:17–18, the prophet describes a season where the crops fail, the fields are empty, and everything around him seems to be falling apart, yet he makes a powerful declaration: “I will rejoice in the Lord.” In this message, Pastor Marcus Gill reminds us that authentic joy cannot be built on circumstances that constantly change. Lasting joy is built on the truth of God's Word, strengthened through trusting Him, and protected through gratitude and godly relationships. You may not be able to control what's happening around you, but when your joy is rooted in God, life can shake you without destroying your foundation. Joy that is built on God doesn't fall apart when life does.
Week 4: Come Out of Your Shade
2026/09/28
In the final part of The Happy Life, we look at Jonah and discover that sometimes the greatest thing standing between us and the joy God has for us isn’t our circumstances; it’s the “shade” we’ve created ourselves. Bitterness, resentment, unforgiveness, judgment, pride, and the need to be right can feel like protection, but eventually they begin to blind and restrict us. Jonah watched an entire city turn toward God, yet he was too consumed with anger to celebrate what God was doing. This message challenges us to examine what we’re holding onto, step out of our own shade, release what has kept us stuck, and choose the light, grace, restoration, and joy God is offering.
Week 3: Your Words Matter
2026/09/21
Words matter, not because they are magic, but because they reveal what we have come into agreement with. In this message from The Happy Life, we look at David and Goliath and discover that before Goliath ever used a weapon, he used his words to intimidate an entire army. For forty days Israel listened until fear began shaping how they saw themselves. David heard the same giant, but he knew a greater Word. This message challenges us to examine the voices we continually allow into our hearts, stop repeating what God never said, take our thoughts captive, remember God’s faithfulness, and begin speaking from the truth of His Word. Faith doesn’t ignore reality; it refuses to allow our circumstances, fears, diagnoses, failures, or other people’s opinions to have the final word.
Week 2: Joy After The Night
2026/09/14
What do you do when life gets so dark that you can’t see a way forward? In this message from The Happy Life series, “Joy After the Night,” we discover that biblical joy doesn’t require our circumstances to change before it can emerge. Through Psalm 23, we learn that a sheep walking through darkness doesn’t depend on what it can see; it responds to the voice of its shepherd. In the same way, God invites us to stop being ruled by fear, feelings, and what we see and begin trusting His Word, His Spirit, His love, and His guidance. When you can’t see the path ahead, you can still follow the One who can.
Week 1: The Endurance Factor
2026/09/07
We spend so much of our lives chasing the next moment we think will finally make us happy; the achievement, relationship, breakthrough, purchase, vacation, or answered prayer. But what happens when the moment passes, the circumstances don't change, or life becomes difficult? In the first message of The Happy Life, Pastor Jose Vasquez explores “The Endurance Factor” and the difference between temporary happiness and biblical joy. Through the lives of Paul and Peter, Romans 8, Philippians 4, and his own experience fighting for his life in the hospital, we discover that enduring joy isn't pretending everything is okay. It's learning to draw near to God in the dark, develop spiritual sight, bend our will toward God's truth instead of our circumstances, and practice rejoicing, prayer, and thanksgiving before the breakthrough arrives. Your difficulty may be real but it doesn't have to become the final word over your life.
Rainforest Falls VBS
2026/08/31
There is a difference between knowing things about God and truly knowing Him. During Kids Takeover Sunday, we explored five powerful truths our children learned at Rainforest Falls VBS: God is our Creator, God knows everything, God is our safe place, God is love, and God is forever. These truths are not just lessons for children; they change the way we respond to fear, failure, uncertainty, mistakes, and change. You may not understand everything happening in your life, but when you know who God is, you have something steady to hold on to. The question is not simply, “What do you know about God?” The question is: Do you know Him, and will you trust Him?
Week 6: The Slow Fade
2026/08/24
Solomon’s story is a sobering reminder that spiritual drift rarely happens all at once. He began with clear instructions, a heart that desired wisdom, incredible favor from God, and accomplishments that impacted an entire nation. Yet underneath all of the visible success, small compromises were slowly taking root. In The Slow Fade, we look at how Solomon’s gradual departure from God teaches us to recognize the little things, reengage before we fade, and practice daily faithfulness. You don’t have to be perfect, but you do have to pay attention because the decisions that seem insignificant today can determine the direction of your heart tomorrow.
Week 5: Protect What Matters
2026/08/17
In Week 5 of Vacation Mode, we return to the neglected vineyard of Proverbs 24 and focus on something easy to overlook: the broken wall surrounding it. The vineyard still had value, but because its walls had deteriorated, what was growing inside was left vulnerable. The same can happen spiritually. When our zeal fades, our discernment weakens, and our understanding becomes neglected, we can leave access points open to things God never intended to shape our lives. In “Protect What Matters,” we discover why godly boundaries aren’t about fear or restriction, they’re about faithfully guarding what God is growing in us. Because what you don’t protect, you eventually risk losing.
Week 4: What's Suffocating Your Soul?
2026/08/10
What happens when your life is still moving, but your soul is slowly being suffocated? In this message, we look at how the cares of life, money, work, family, comfort, fear, and even good things can become thorns when they begin taking the place that belongs to God. Through a personal hospital experience, the parable of the sower in Matthew 13, the neglected vineyard in Proverbs, and Jesus’ words in John 15, we discover that being overgrown does not erase our purpose but it can limit our fruitfulness. God isn’t simply calling us to remove what’s choking us; He’s inviting us to make room for the right things to grow. Because what you tolerate today may eventually choke what God wants to grow tomorrow.
Week 3: The Slow Takeover
2026/08/03
Nobody wakes up intending to lose their faith, damage their family, neglect their health, or walk away from their calling. Most losses happen slowly, through small compromises, ignored warning signs, and pressures we repeatedly tolerate. Through the neglected field of Proverbs 24 and the life of Samson, “The Slow Takeover” reveals how weeds grow wherever we stop being intentional. This message will challenge you to identify what has been quietly growing, remove what does not belong, and reclaim what God entrusted to you. Your field is not disqualified. With God’s help, it can be tended, restored, and fruitful again.
Week 2: The Future You're Growing Today
2026/07/27
The future you desire is being cultivated by the choices you make today. Through Solomon’s request for wisdom in 1 Kings 3, we discover that dreams alone do not produce a harvest, daily decisions do. This message challenges us to examine what we are depending on, choose God’s purposes over our personal preferences, and build lives rooted deeply in His wisdom before pressure, temptation, conflict, or crisis arrives. God may not always remove the hardship in front of us, but He can strengthen the roots beneath us. The question is not whether you will need wisdom in the future; it is what you are depositing into your life today.
Week 1: What Grew While You Weren't Looking
2026/07/20
Most things do not fall apart because of one dramatic decision. They deteriorate through small moments of repeated neglect. In Proverbs 24, Solomon passes a field that was once valuable and productive but had become overgrown with thorns, covered with weeds, and surrounded by a broken wall. In this message, “What Grew While You Weren’t Looking?”, we examine the fields God has entrusted to us; our relationship with Him, marriages, families, character, boundaries, opportunities, and purpose. God is inviting us to stop long enough to see what has been growing, look honestly at what needs attention, listen for His instruction, and respond with obedience. You cannot change yesterday’s neglect, but with God’s help, you can begin tending your field today.
Week 7: Staying In The Fight
2026/07/13
Victory isn't always the finish line. Sometimes it's the beginning of your greatest battle. In Joshua 24, after crossing the Jordan, watching Jericho fall, and conquering the Promised Land, Joshua gathers Israel one last time, not to prepare them for another war, but to challenge their hearts. Because the greatest fight isn't always the one in front of you; it's the one within you. In this message, we explore how faith slowly drifts through small compromises, why wholehearted devotion matters, how your faith impacts your family and the next generation, and why today's obedience is preparing you for tomorrow's calling. Through the lives of Joshua, Esther, and Mordecai, discover that God isn't just preparing you for victory, He's forging you into someone who can remain faithful long after the battle is over.
Week 6: When Your Victory Turns Into Your Trap
2026/07/06
What if your greatest spiritual danger isn't before your breakthrough but after it? This week, we continue our Forged in the Fight series by looking at Joshua 6–7 and the story of Achan. Israel experienced one of the greatest victories in Scripture when the walls of Jericho fell, but hidden compromise turned that victory into defeat. We explore how comfort can convince us the fight is over, how what looks like a reward can actually be bait, and why old habits continue to follow us when we refuse to put them to death. God didn't just want Israel to win a battle, He wanted them to win the war. The same is true for us today. Don't let yesterday's breakthrough become tomorrow's trap.
Week 5: When You’re Waiting While God Is Working
2026/06/29
Have you ever felt like you're doing everything God asked you to do, but nothing seems to be changing? In this message, we explore the story of Jericho and discover that what feels like walking in circles may actually be God's cycle of preparation. Waiting is not wasted when God is working. Through Joshua 6, Isaiah 40:31, and 1 Corinthians 3:6-7, we learn that repeated obedience develops endurance, deepens faith, expands capacity, and prepares us for the promises God has already spoken. If you're waiting on healing, breakthrough, restoration, provision, or direction, this message will remind you that faithful obedience is never fruitless. Keep walking. Keep praying. Keep serving. God is working even when you can't yet see the walls moving.
