Wherein your hosts return from a 14-month hiatus to talk (mostly about) The Woman in Cabin 10 (Netflix version), competitive reading and BookTok, as well as Kelsey's interest in the upcoming series called Heated Rivalry. We back, baby!

Wherein your hosts (and special guest Larissa) talk at length about S3 of Bridgerton AND about Twisters. Spoilers abound, and it's a bit of a wild ride. Kind of like wrangling a tornado.

Wherein your hosts talk at length about All Of Us Strangers, cry about a couple particular scenes, laugh at their own crying, blame the crying on being in the same space, talk for another long while about Kate Middleton and whether or not she's dead (probably not, allegedly), whether or not Prince Philip was dead in that photo in the car (probably, allegedly) and then talk about what benign superpowers they'd like to have.

Wherein your hosts talk Reacher, and then try to figure out how Reacher would fit in with Uhtred and his band of merry men, and then there's an absolutely unhinged FMK at the end. (This summary is being written 2 weeks after the episode was recorded. Things have happened. Lives have been lived.)

Wherein your hosts gather (IN PERSON!!!!!!) on maybe the coldest night of the year to talk about Saltburn (which they both loved but did not know what to expect before seeing it) and Reacher (which they also love, because duh).

Wherein your hosts talk about Season 6 of The Crown, as well as the first three episodes of Reacher. Guess which part is longer?

Wherein your hosts talk AT LENGTH about the Netflix adaptation of "All The Light We Cannot See", why Mark Ruffalo was miscast, who the German George MacKay is, what worked, what didn't, and what they'd hide in secret rooms in their houses.

Wherein your hosts talk about Icebreaker, a fabulous hockey romance that hits all the right notes. (If you were expecting a better summary, you've come to the wrong place. We're rusty.)

Wherein your hosts talk at length about the two biggest movies of 2023. Unfortunately, they did not use the lines "I am become death, destroyer of worlds" OR "Come on Barbie, let's go party" in any context.

Wherein your hosts talk about the Dungeons and Dragons movie, the Netflix series BEEF (and why it's not just television, but a work of art) and spend an hour crying about Uhtred and Finan and Sihtric. Spoilers the entire time, for absolutely everything.

Wherein your hosts talk about the recent Teachers Convention that M attended and how she spent her time (spoiler: exactly how you think she did), why the most recent season of Outlander is a solid stinker (Spoilers, I guess), and which iteration of Queen Elizabeth they'd most like to have dinner with.

Wherein your hosts talk about Peter Kavinsky and The Recruit, Vincent Lecavalier's SI shoot, and Sidney Crosby's dump truck ass.

Wherein your hosts talk about the reading list of all reading lists and why it's bad, what books they'd put on their own "must-read" list, why the end of Season 5 of The Crown leaves very little hope, which casting decisions were spot-on and which needed some retooling, why Glass Onion was a good companion to Knives Out and why Paul Rudd should star as the murderer in the next insalment.

Wherein your hosts talk about why the twist at the end of Don't Worry Darling doesn't make a ton of sense, how Florence Pugh is incredible always, why Chris Pine was perfect in DWD, how much they enjoyed Lindsay Lohan's new Netflix movie, how it's possible to have too many tropes at once, how Christmas movies can be split into 4 tiers, how the new season of The Crown is very grim, why it's hard to be sympathetic to some of the characters this time around, and how there might be some real truth in the show after all. Listen to the end to find out what movie they're going to watch for the next movie commentary ep. It's a doozy.

Wherein your hosts talk about their most recent reunion to see John Mulaney, why a no-phones show is both good and bad, answer all the weird woul you rathers that K could find, discuss the influx of 'ADHD influencers" and some terrifically bad labelling, and how the beginning of the school year has gone.
