In this episode of Somewhere in the Skies, Ryan is joined by active UK police officer Inspector Roy Teague, author of Close Encounters of the Police Kind. Drawing on nearly 27 years in policing, Teague has interviewed more than 300 current and former officers about their encounters with UFOs and other unexplained phenomena. His new book collects 75 of the most compelling cases, many told publicly for the first time. Teague takes us inside extraordinary reports involving police helicopters encountering mysterious craft over London, officers pursuing, and being pursued by UFOs, massive black triangles, missing time, alleged abductions, and even a possible implant discovered behind an officer’s eye. He also discusses the stigma officers still face when reporting UFOs, the lack of formal UAP reporting protocols within UK policing, patterns he has uncovered across decades of testimony, and why he believes these witnesses deserve to be heard. We explore Teague’s approach to investigating these accounts, what police training can bring to UFO testimony, and how compiling hundreds of reports has transformed his own view of the phenomenon. In this episode of Somewhere in the Skies Classics, we revisit one of the most compelling and well-documented UFO cases in Canadian history: the Shag Harbour UFO Incident. On the night of October 4, 1967, residents along the coast of Nova Scotia watched a mysterious object descend toward the waters near Shag Harbour and seemingly disappear beneath the surface. What followed was an official search-and-rescue operation, military involvement, eyewitness testimony, and a paper trail that would help cement the incident as one of the most intriguing UFO mysteries ever investigated by the Canadian government. In this Somewhere in the Skies Classic, we revisit one of the most extraordinary and controversial alien abduction cases in UFO history: The Andreasson Affair. Beginning in Massachusetts in 1967, Betty Andreasson’s alleged encounter involved strange beings entering her home, missing time, medical procedures, telepathic communication, and deeply spiritual experiences, claims that would later undergo an extensive investigation led by renowned UFO researcher Raymond Fowler. Ryan is joined by veteran UFO researcher Peter Robbins to explore the case’s place in the history of abduction research, its connections to the paranormal and spirituality, the role of hypnosis and witness testimony, and the skepticism and controversy that continue to surround it. As today’s UFO conversation increasingly expands beyond nuts-and-bolts craft into questions of consciousness, perception, and the nature of anomalous experience, the Andreasson Affair may be more relevant than ever. Richard Dolan returns for a deep dive into the hidden history of USOs and some of the most extraordinary cases from his latest research. Dolan takes us aboard U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and submarines, into Soviet-era underwater mysteries, and beneath the waters of Lake Baikal as we explore decades of strange encounters at sea.  We examine the 1971 USS John F. Kennedy incident, the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt encounter, the mysterious Soviet “Croakers,” the alleged Lake Baikal swimmers, the Lummi Island incident, and a bizarre encounter involving the USS Saratoga in the Bermuda Triangle. Then we turn to the UFO conversation today. Dolan weighs in on PURSUE Tranche 6, the newly released UAP videos and historical documents, Edward Ruppelt’s recovered 1952 audio, the AAWSAP/DIA studies, whistleblower waivers, Christopher Mellon’s criticism of the Wall Street Journal, and the continuing push for UFO disclosure. We also explore whether artificial intelligence could play a role in understanding, or even communicating with, non-human intelligence, before asking a bigger question: Has ufology become too focused on Washington and disclosure while losing sight of the actual UFO encounters happening around the world?  Find all of Richard Dolan's work: https://richarddolanmembers.com/ Patreon: http://www.patreon.com/somewhereskies ByMeACoffee: http://www.buymeacoffee.com/UFxzyzHOaQ Send us a voicemail: https://www.speakpipe.com/SomewhereSkiesPod Substack: https://ryansprague.substack.com/ All socials and books: https://linktr.ee/somewhereskiespod Email: [email protected] Opening theme song by Septembryo Closing song by Per Kiilstofte Copyright © 2026 Ryan Sprague. In 1976, Joyce Bowles and her friend Ted Pratt witnessed a strange object in the sky when Joyce's car suddenly began shaking, locked up, and was reportedly lifted off the road. It was the start of a series of UFO sightings, humanoid encounters, and paranormal experiences that would follow them for years. We explore the remarkable and often-overlooked case of Joyce Bowles and her lifelong connection to the unexplained. In Witness Accounts: Volume 42, we return to the heart of the podcast: YOU, the witnesses. Four people share encounters they’ve carried with them for years. A strange illuminated craft in Florida transforms into three lights. A massive black triangle silently hovers over a field in Ontario before vanishing. A glowing sphere drifts over an Oregon neighborhood in broad daylight. And U.S. Army veteran Vince Hall shares a deeply personal encounter with a bluish-white orb while deployed in Baghdad, Iraq. As UFOs become increasingly consumed by government investigations and disclosure debates, these stories remind us why I started this show in the first place. Behind every sighting is a person whose life may have been changed forever, once again proving, YOU are the disclosure. Special thanks to Tim, K.G, Patrick, and Vince for sharing their stories. For more than seven decades, this extraordinary recording remained buried in government archives. Now, as part of the PURSUE Tranche 6 UFO file release, the complete 1952 “Flying Saucer Talk” by Captain Edward J. Ruppelt, the U.S. Air Force officer who led Project Blue Book, is finally available to hear. Recorded on March 26, 1952, Ruppelt discusses the Air Force investigation into flying saucers, including credible military and pilot sightings, unexplained cases, activity near sensitive installations, radar observations, extraordinary speeds, and efforts to gather better photographic and scientific data. Despite extensive investigation, a significant percentage of cases remained unexplained. More than 70 years later, the parallels are striking: military witnesses, radar detections, unusual performance characteristics, sensitive locations, limited data, and a persistent percentage of cases that resist conventional explanation. Listen to Edward J. Ruppelt’s complete 1952 presentation, newly released in PURSUE Tranche 6. Tranche 6 of the PURSUE UFO/UAP files have released. Ryan breaks it down in real-time, reacting to the latest documents, videos, and an hour long audio recording from former Project Blue Book director, Edward Ruppelt, that's been buried since 1952. What does Tranche 6 add to the growing public record on UFOs, UAP, government investigations, and disclosure? Ryan will examine the material as it unfolds, provide context where possible, and separate potentially significant information from what we may have seen before. The Men in Black have haunted UFO lore for more than 70 years. Mysterious visitors. Black suits and black cars. Threatening phone calls. Surveillance. Strange questions. And an unsettling warning: stop talking about what you saw. We explore five chilling first-person accounts involving alleged encounters with the infamous Men in Black, and, in one case, a mysterious Woman in Black. A UFO sighting at Joshua Tree is followed by two eerie men claiming to represent the U.S. Air Force. A military air traffic controller tracks a mysterious object over Afghanistan before two pale men arrive and insist it was only a glitch. After a massive UFO sighting near San Diego, a couple receives bizarre phone calls before supposed "FBI agents" appear at their home. A military veteran encounters two suspicious "roofers" after publicly discussing his UFO experiences. And a longtime investigator is visited by a mysterious woman carrying photographs of his encounter that he never took. On this episode of Somewhere in the Skies Classics, we revisit a conversation with Swedish UFO researcher Fred Andersson to explore some of Sweden’s strangest and most unsettling close encounters. From mysterious fire humanoids reported in Mörsil and Lundbovägen to bizarre, suitcase-carrying owl-like creatures in Smedjebacken, these cases rank among the most unusual encounters to emerge from Sweden. Having personally interviewed witnesses connected to several of these events, Andersson shares firsthand details, his own theories, and what these extraordinary cases might tell us about the enduring mystery of the UFO phenomenon. What happens when a UFO sighting becomes something much closer? From police officers witnessing a landed UFO and humanoid occupants in 1950s France to travelers followed by a craft in Australia, towering entities in Spain, strange visitors at a woman’s front door in Brazil, and mysterious beings emerging from landed craft in the Philippines, these cases push the boundaries of the unexplained. We also explore a figure materializing inside a Florida bedroom, humanoids observed through a UFO over Norway, a pale “Grey” emerging from the woods in Illinois, and humanlike silhouettes aboard a bizarre craft over Germany. Across these accounts are recurring details: UFO landings, alien beings, missing time, paralysis, strange lights, electromagnetic disturbances, and physical traces. We look beyond the lights in the sky and ask what happens when the unknown comes face-to-face with us.
