One of the biggest issues with AI is maintainability, since the technology tends to create so-called technical debt by building unsustainable systems. AI systems also tend to converge on similar solutions, so there is a risk that multiple users will get the same answer and this too could pose a risk. There is also a question of accountability and IP ownership for AI-generated content and actions. Adding generative AI to enterprise applications is exposing up to 20 years of technical debt in enterprise IT infrastructure and applications.
