Episode 137: SoloCast — Clinical Athlete Diaries
2026/01/23
It’s a Clinical Athlete Diary vibe. When’s the last time you re-read a book or retook a course, instead of buying a new one? Hmm… Also, you ever struggle with tracking your athlete’s symptoms in rehab? Or find it to be a slippery slope to have a goal be for them to have no more pain flare ups? Me too. Let’s talk about it all. Connect with Clinical Athlete: Clinical Athlete Provider Cert Application Free Clinical Athlete Facebook Community On IG: @clinicalathlete @quinn.henochdpt @zakgabor.dpt

Episode 135: Tennis S&C Deepdive with Matt Kuzdub
2025/12/26
On this show, Quinn Henoch and Zak Gabor welcome a special guest onto the show – Matt Kuzdub.  Matt is a tennis coach and a tennis strength & conditioning coach – and I’ll even frame that differently, that’s he’s just an awesome sport and S&C coach and the sport and athletes that he works with happen to be tennis players. He’s also Zak’s tennis and S&C coach and Matt is currently finishing up going through the Clinical Athlete Provider certification — which has been awesome for all of us because he’s already such a wealth of knowledge. So, we’re really excited to share this conversion with you — we discussed what shaped Matt’s current training philosophy, how he balances needing to help his athletes develop multiple qualities simultaneously in a sport without much of an off season, some myth busting and misconceptions in training tennis athletes, and much more.  It was an awesome conversation. We hope you enjoy Connect with Matt: @mattspoint_tennis www.mattspoint.com [email protected] Connect with Clinical Athlete: Clinical Athlete Provider Cert Application Free Clinical Athlete Facebook Community On IG: @clinicalathlete @quinn.henochdpt @zakgabor.dpt

Episode 134: Busting The Mystique of ExRx
2025/12/12
On this show, Quinn Henoch and Zak Gabor attempt to bust down the unnecessary mystique of exercise prescription. Have you ever felt like a topic is just out of reach or that you just don’t feel comfortable discussing or implementing with your athletes? Whether it be energy system development, plyometrics, change of direction – well, improving your confidence with any topic doesn’t have to be so daunting and intimidating – and hopefully after this episode you have some actionable takeaway to be able to start tackling your exrx bugaboos in a productive and fun way. Episode 133: Nociception IS Necessary For Pain – Rethinking “Pain Science” w/ Asaf Klaf Weisman
2025/11/28
On this show, we welcome a very special guest Asaf Klaf Weisman. Asaf is a clinician and a researcher, who for the better part of the last decade has really challenged some of the conventional wisdom around contemporary pain science, pain neuroscience education, and the biopsychosocial model as a whole. For this convo, we use the widely accepted aphorism of “Nociception is neither necessary nor sufficient for pain” as an example to anchor to what might be, at best, a claim formed on shaky evidence and at worst, just plain wrong, misleading, and keeping the field from moving forward. Zak leads this interview, and we unpack many layers. It’s a dense show, so make sure you eat something, buckle in and prepare for some mind melt in the best way. The Brain Gainz come off the back end of that. We hope you enjoy! Episode 132: A Third Path For The PT w/ MovementX
2025/11/14
On this show, Quinn Henoch and Zak Gabor welcome two special guests onto the show – Josh D’Angelo and Rich Ortiz of MovementX Josh is a co-founder of MovementX, which is a company that is providing Physical Therapists with unique employment opportunities that help them both scratch the entrepreneurial itch, but also provide stability within an established and trusted brand. It was really cool to hear Josh tell the founding story and go into what makes MovementX such a unique company to work for, and in turn, to bringing great care to their clientele. And Rich Ortiz is one of those bright shining star Physical Therapists who’s crushing it within the MovementX umbrella, so it was cool to get that perspective as well – and Rich also recently completed the clinical Athlete provider certification, so he’s a great example of someone who is really trying to maximize their professional development gainz.  We go into a ton more – what can rehab professionals do to connect with their communities and educate them on what value they bring to the table, what can new grads do, or anybody looking for growth really, to find those new opportunities, and a ton more. It really was a great conversation. We hope you enjoy! Episode 131: Dungeons & Dynos w/ Chris Juneau & Jason Tuori
2025/10/31
On this show, Quinn Henoch and Zak Gabor welcome two special guests onto the show – Chris Juneau and Jason Tuori. Chris and Jason are two all-star physical therapists who we consider good friends and who we’ve had the privilege to work with in varying capacities over the years. They are co-hosts of the PT Inquest podcast and teach a continuing education course called Dungeons and Dynamometers – which is all about teaching principles and methods of objective testing for clinical care and performance. And that’s the topic of discussion for this show – we cover some big picture questions like, why do we test at all? Why does it matter? When does it not matter? How do we utilize the data that we gather? And then we get into the weeds a little bit too, on the differentiation of kinematics and kinetics, testing set up, dynamometer use, and a ton more. And of course, we ask the big question – is manual muscle testing a valid and reliable means of testing & monitoring force production with data that we can trust to make decisions with? (spoiler: probably not) All of this AND more. We hope you enjoy! Episode 130: Hooper’s Delight w/ Ramsey Nijem
2025/10/16
On this show, Quinn Henoch and Zak Gabor welcome a special guest onto the show – Ramsey Nijem who is the Director of Performance for the men’s basketball team at the University of Kansas. And before that, Ramsey worked for years in the NBA as a head strength & conditioning coach, so needless to say, he knows a thing or two about working with basketball players and teams at the highest levels.  We go into so much on this show – what it’s like working within a high performance staff and how all the different hats of S&C, rehab, sport coaches all work together, differences in how he planned and programmed training in the NBA vs. college; how his training programs are structured from off season to in season, how he manages training when injuries or fatigue are present within the team or individual athletes to still help them get some kind of training effect in season,  All of this AND more We hope you enjoy! Episode 129: A Better Perspective on Injury & Rehab
2025/10/02
On this show, Quinn Henoch and Zak Gabor riff on a few topics that all have to do with how we as providers, and how athletes view injury, rehab, and training as a whole. Have you ever had someone say to you – aren’t you a PT, shouldn’t you be able to fix yourself? Which is funny because Zak talks about how he literally just strained his hamstring 3 days ago, and goes into how he’s managing it for an upcoming tennis tournament. Or, do you ever get the sense that athletes and clients expect rehab to work in the same way that a mechanic fixes a car or an electrician fixes a light switch? A lot of times it just ain’t that straightforward.  Or take something like Plyometrics – we often associate that word with end stage rehab or for high level athletes, but is that the best way to think about it?    All of this AND more We hope you enjoy!
