This Morning we had Icarus in the studio for Fancy New Band !  Icarus is a very new four piece alternative-indie-rock band from the North Shore. This year they have gone through regional finals in RockQuest and are about to start recording some new songs !  Thanks to NZ On Air Music !

This Morning we were delighted to welcome Lucy Anna into the studio for Fancy New Band ! Lucy Anna is a 16 year old indie folk singer/songerwriter from Tāmaki Makaurau who has been having an incredible year of releases, her latest being 'Hate to Admit' which came out last week!  Lucys music is a beautiful window into the emotions, relationships and journey of a teenage girl.  Listen now thanks to NZ On Air Music

This Morning we had the incredible FORK come in for Fancy New Band!  FORK are a femme punk trio from Waipu who have been on a roll this year, winning first place in Rockquest, recording their debut album, and prepping to open for Mudhoney!  Their sound has a pefect blend of grit, groove, and beefy drive; make sure to give this one a listen and watch this space! This Morning we had Jordan Hunter in the studio for Fancy New Band!  By night Jordan is a doctor working at Auckland hospital and by day he is a singer-songwriter composing deeply personal and honest songs. Today Jordan played three songs from his EP 'Waste' that comes out next week!  Thanks to NZ On Air Music !

Tāmaki Makaurau-based psych sludge trio Exit Sign are in the studio to play a couple of tracks from their debut album, The Fallen. Fresh off their album release tour, they're quickly becoming one of the most talked-about live acts in the city. For this week's Fancy New Band, we welcomed Righteous Marcel into the studio!  Righteous Marcel is an Emerging soul/contempory R&B artist who produces everything himself.
