Contentment in Eden
2026/09/06
What if the very thing we have been searching for has been sitting in our own backyard all along? This message takes us back to the Garden of Eden, where Adam and Eve had everything they could ever need, yet the whisper of 'you need more' was enough to unravel it all. That same whisper echoes in our lives today, amplified by social media feeds and cultural pressure that keep us perpetually dissatisfied. Drawing from Genesis 3 and Matthew 6, we are invited to look honestly at the disease of discontentment and recognize it for what it truly is: a spiritual problem with deep roots. Jesus points us to the birds of the air and the lilies of the field not as a nature lesson, but as a profound reminder that our Father knows what we need and has already made provision. The question is whether we trust Him enough to rest in that truth today rather than chasing a version of contentment we imagine exists somewhere just beyond our reach.

Wisdom from the Wild

Ever notice how the safest version of your life is also the smallest one? A clean stable just means nothing's living in it. In this message from Proverbs, we contrast two ways of living: the settler mentality that protects what's comfortable, and the pioneer spirit that follows God into uncharted territory. We explore why the most fruitful things in life, like relationships, callings, and ministry, are almost always the messiest. We learn what the ant teaches us about preparation without control, and we confront the "imaginary lions" we invent to justify staying put. It all points to Jesus, who was born into our mess in a feeding trough in Bethlehem. He didn't come to hand us a sterile, risk-free life, but an abundant one.  KEY INSIGHT: A clean stable is proof of nothing but an empty one. God's best for you will cost you your comfort, not your calling.
Beneath the Surface
2026/07/12
This powerful message takes us beneath the surface of our lives using the vivid metaphor of an iceberg - where 90% of what truly matters remains hidden from view. We're challenged to examine what lies beneath our visible behaviors, particularly focusing on anger as a window into our hearts. Drawing from both Proverbs and Jesus' teachings in the Sermon on the Mount, we discover that our outward expressions are merely symptoms of deeper heart issues. The wisdom literature calls us to be slow to anger, not because anger itself is always wrong, but because it reveals underlying pain, fear, hurt, disappointment, or unmet expectations that we've been carrying. Jesus takes this even further in Matthew 5, connecting anger to murder and showing us that He's less interested in managing our behavior than transforming our hearts. The profound truth emerges that conflict doesn't create what's in our hearts - it simply reveals what's already there. We're invited to move beyond surface-level religion and self-improvement to receive what only Jesus can give: a complete heart transplant. This isn't about working harder to hide our struggles or becoming better at appearing spiritual. It's about surrendering everything - past, present, and future - to the only One who can search our hearts, examine our minds, and give us new hearts of flesh to replace our hearts of stone.
Wise Friendships
2026/07/05
three friends wise living requires: the friend who sharpens you, the friend who shows up, and the friend who sticks. We walk through Proverbs to draw the line between echoes who repeat your thoughts back to you and friends who love you enough to contradict you, between companions of convenience and covenant friends. And we land on Jesus, who stuck to a cross so enemies could become family. KEY INSIGHT: True friendship begins where your usefulness ends.
A Wise Tongue
2026/06/28
The message explored the profound biblical truth that our words don't just describe reality, they create it. Just as God spoke the world into existence, we bear His image as word-speakers who build or burn down worlds with every sentence we utter. We looked at how our tongues reveal what's truly in our hearts, why we can't tame our own tongues through willpower alone, and ultimately how Jesus speaks a better word over our lives, one written in His blood that can remake the worlds our words have wrecked. This truth has profound implications for our spiritual life. The words we speak to ourselves, our spouses, our children, and our church family are either breathing life or death into those relationships and identities.

Between the Darkness and the Day
2026/05/03
This sermon explores 1 Thessalonians 4, where Paul teaches the church how to live in the "in-between" time—between Christ's first coming and His return. Paul addresses three key areas: our bodies (sexual ethics), our lives (daily rhythms), and our grief (hope in resurrection). The central message is that we don't just wait for the day—we practice the day now.
