Broncos vs 49ers: We’ve got a coaching edge — let’s exploit it
2026/10/02
We gotta run the rock and keep Purdy on the sideline — that was our rallying cry as we flipped to the Broncos offense vs. 49ers defense. We all agree that we need consistency from the first whistle: J.K. Dobbins was a full practice participant (hip), RJ Harvey looks good, and Tyler Badie rotations matter. Spotty reminded everyone that Raheem Morris is crafty, but David flagged a coaching edge: Sean Payton has history against Morris and knows how to expose tendencies. That feels like leverage if our offensive line holds up and we commit to sustained drives to eat clock. We also dug into individual expectations — will Bo step up or keep us guessing? We debated paying him mad money if he’s only dominant for a quarter (big talk, I know). Jaylen Waddle shaking off a walking-boot scare and looking to post a 5–6 catch, 70–80 yard type game was another highlight. Bottom line: if we run consistently, control TO, and let Payton game-plan smartly, our offense can keep this close and maybe take over in the second half — but it’s gonna take discipline and patience. broncosandbourbon.com This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: OP3 - https://op3.dev/privacy

Broncos vs. Rams Week 3: Bo Nix’s Next Test
2026/09/25
Can Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos carry their momentum into Sunday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams? David and Spotty break down the 2026 Week 3 matchup, from stopping Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay’s offense to protecting Nix against Aaron Donald and the Rams’ defensive front. The defensive challenge starts with Kyren Williams, Blake Corum and a physical run game that can set up dangerous downfield throws. The guys dig into the Rams’ two- and three-tight-end packages, why those looks test Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad, and how Vance Joseph could respond. Plus, Puka Nacua’s uncertain availability, a potential Pat Surtain II vs. Davante Adams showdown, and whether Jahdae Barron could see a larger role. On offense, the focus turns to Bo Nix’s rhythm, Davis Webb’s play-calling and the growing connection with Jaylen Waddle over the middle. Can Denver’s offensive line create running room and keep Nix comfortable? The conversation also covers J.K. Dobbins, RJ Harvey and Jonah Coleman, Marvin Mims’ return-game value, the production from Evan Engram and Nate Adkins, and why it’s too early to give up on Pat Bryant. David and Spotty finish with different score predictions and their keys to a Broncos win in prime time. Broncos Beat Jaguars: Coleman Fuels the Comeback
2026/09/22
The Denver Broncos erased a 13–3 deficit against the Jacksonville Jaguars to grab their first win of the season, and Victory Monday feels a whole lot better than the alternative. But this Broncos vs. Jaguars postgame breakdown isn't just a celebration. Denver showed the fight to finish, along with a few familiar problems that still need fixing. KevDan, Adam, and Scott the Flag Man break down the Week 2 comeback, from Jaylen Waddle's eight-catch, 138-yard bounce-back performance to Jonah Coleman's touchdown, Mile High Salute, and veteran-minded decision to keep the clock running. With injury questions surrounding J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey, has Coleman earned a bigger role in the Broncos' backfield? On defense, Riley Moss's interception and Zach Allen's pressure helped Denver stay in the fight. The crew debates whether the pass rush is doing enough beyond the sack totals, why Jacksonville's approach played into the Broncos' strengths, and how Cam Little's missed field goal helped swing the momentum. The win doesn't erase the frustration over penalties, slow offensive starts, and missed opportunities near the goal line. We dig into Bo Nix, Davis Webb's play-calling, the need to establish the run, and what Denver must clean up before facing the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football. Plus, the Jaguars fans who disappeared from the comments, the Chargers' rough start, and a little perspective on the AFC West. The Broncos are 1–1, the season is young, and there's plenty left to prove. Broncos vs. Jaguars Week 2: Can Bo Nix Bounce Back?
2026/09/19
Can Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos bounce back against the Jacksonville Jaguars in their 2026 home opener? David and Spotty preview the Week 2 matchup, break down what needs to change after the Chiefs loss, and debate whether Denver can find its identity on offense before another tough test. The defensive conversation starts with missed tackles, Trevor Lawrence and Jacksonville’s receiving threats. Can the Broncos clean up their execution, force third-and-long and give Nik Bonitto a chance to disrupt the game? On offense, the focus turns to getting Jaylen Waddle involved, leaning on the offensive line and committing to the run. The guys also discuss Davis Webb’s play-calling, Sean Payton’s influence, Evan Engram’s role, and the injury concerns surrounding Marvin Mims and RJ Harvey, including a potential opportunity for Jonah Coleman. Plus, two different score predictions and a little perspective for Broncos Country: how much concern is justified after one rough week? It’s an honest look at what Denver needs to fix before taking on Jacksonville. Broncos vs Chiefs MNF: Week 1 Pregame Breakdown
2026/09/12
David and Spotty break down the Denver Broncos' 2026 season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football. They dive into the Chiefs' offensive question marks — Patrick Mahomes' knee, an undrafted rookie at left tackle, and a thin receiving corps — and why the Broncos' pass rush with Nik Bonitto and Zach Allen could feast. On the other side, they discuss Bo Nix's history of playing his best against Kansas City, how new offensive coordinator Davis Webb might deploy Jalen Waddle, Courtland Sutton, and the run game, and what to expect from Sean Payton's offense in Week 1. Broncos vs Chiefs Week 1: Bo Nix, Davis Webb & the Death of a Dynasty
2026/09/09
The Broncos open the 2026 season on Monday Night Football at Arrowhead, and Kevin and David break down every reason Denver walks in as the more complete team. From a banged-up Chiefs offensive line without Josh Simmons, to a rehabbing Patrick Mahomes coming off a nine-month ACL/LCL recovery, to a Kansas City receiver room that never got fixed — the Broncos vs Chiefs Week 1 matchup has "dead dynasty" written all over it. Bo Nix enters year three with the same offensive line, the same weapons, and a brand new play caller in Davis Webb that Kansas City has zero tape on. Add Jalen Waddle to a receiver room that already features Courtland Sutton, Pat Bryant, and Troy Franklin, and the ceiling on this offense is higher than it's been in a decade. On defense, Nick Bonito lines up across from an undrafted rookie left tackle while Vance Joseph builds a plan to erase Travis Kelce and contain Kenneth Walker — a runner Seattle deliberately kept out of the passing game. Kevin and David break down the storylines that will decide the game: • Is the Chiefs dynasty officially over? Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck — Kevin makes the case that the window closed the moment Kansas City stopped fixing its offensive line. • Josh Simmons is out — who protects Mahomes? An undrafted rookie at left tackle vs Nick Bonito is the single biggest mismatch on the field Monday night. • Mahomes on a fresh ACL. Nine months post-surgery, no scrambling, no extending plays. What that changes for the Broncos pass rush. • Davis Webb is the secret weapon. Zero tape, a real quarterback/play-caller relationship with Bo Nix, and an advantage that should hold through the first month of the season. • Kenneth Walker won't save Kansas City. Not a three-down back, not a pass catcher — and Andy Reid still doesn't want to run the ball. • Waddle unlocks the Broncos offense. A true YAC weapon opposite Sutton, with Pat Bryant, Troy Franklin, and Evan Engram all fighting for touches. • Travis Kelce isn't the same guy. Five touchdowns last year, one against Denver in two seasons — the red-zone terror is gone. • Injury board. Riley Moss's ribs, the Chiefs secondary with Jaylen Watson and Alohi Gilman banged up, and a rookie corner in the starting lineup for Kansas City. Plus predictions, a Nick Wright takedown, and why the Broncos being underdogs is exactly where this team wants to be. Broncos vs Chiefs Week 1 Preview: Denver Is the +3 Underdog Again
2026/09/08
Denver opens the 2026 season Monday night at Arrowhead as a three-point underdog, and Kevin, John and Adam are not having it. The Postgame Podcast has no game to review yet, so this one is a full offseason wrap and Week 1 Chiefs preview — the matchups that decide it, the roster questions still open, and why this Kansas City team may be the most overrated three-point favorite in football. The crew digs into a Chiefs roster that got worse, not better: a rebuilt secondary missing its top cornerbacks, a Patrick Mahomes coming off a late-season ACL tear, an aging skill group, and left tackle Josh Simmons fighting a back injury that could hand Nik Bonitto a backup tackle to feast on. On the Denver side, it's Davis Webb's first game calling plays, a third straight season with the same starting offensive line, Jaylen Waddle joining Courtland Sutton and Pat Bryant, and the one number that could swing the whole season — the dropped passes that led the entire league over the last two years. Plus the show's 11-year anniversary, Sean Payton's 5-1 record against Kansas City, JK Dobbins' "pinky promise," the Marvin Mims Jr. contract-year problem, and why Adam takes every Vegas line personally. Broncos 53-Man Roster Reactions & Chiefs Preview
2026/09/01
The Broncos' 53-man roster is officially set — and the full Bourbon, Broncos and No B.S. crew is back to break it all down. Kev Dan is joined by Adam, John, and Scott the flag man for a live reaction show that starts with Denver's cuts, waiver claims, and practice-squad signings and ends with Broncos at Chiefs two weeks out on Monday Night Football. We hit the big surprises up front: three quarterbacks on the 53 including Sam Ehlinger as QB3, Justin Jolie waived and claimed by Miami, Mr. Irrelevant Red Murdock clearing waivers, and Dallin Bentley sneaking onto the roster with almost no preseason buzz. Adam gives an official Lucas Kroll fan club update from the practice squad, Scott stakes his case for Nate Adkins as a weekly first-touchdown lock, and the running back battle between Bidet, McLaughlin, and the out-of-nowhere Schrader gets sorted. From there we get into the state of the tight end room around Evan Engram, Adam Trautman, and Nate Adkins, whether Davis Webb can finally unlock the middle of the field, the Barron pick one year later, and why the Broncos have been in the middle-linebacker desert since Al Wilson. The second half is J.K. Dobbins' pinky promise vs. his injury history, Jonah Coleman's real role in the backfield, and whether Jarrett Stidham is on borrowed time as QB2 — with a Bill Polian detour into what "having a backup plan" really means in the NFL. We close on why the national media still isn't talking about the Broncos, the schedule ahead, and one hell of a matchup in week three: Quinn Meinerz vs. Aaron Donald. Pregame: Broncos vs. Vikings — Preseason Week 3 Preview
2026/08/28
David and Spotty preview the third and final preseason game of 2026 — Denver Broncos vs. Minnesota Vikings — with Bo Nix officially ruled out and most starters expected to sit. It's a roster-battle game, and the guys break down exactly who they're watching. In this episode: • Why Sean Payton and Davis Webb have zero incentive to open the playbook this week • The Brian Flores factor: why "godsend" is the right word for Bo Nix being out against the NFL's most aggressive blitz defense • Running back depth crunch — is Jaleel McLaughlin on the roster bubble behind R.J. Harvey and Tyler Badie? • Frank Crum vs. Cage Casey: the offensive line audition that actually matters • Rookie tight ends: still waiting for someone to show out • The Jonathan Cooper situation — court date Monday, potential 8-game suspension, and the UFL edge signing that tells you what the front office is planning for • Jahdae Barron isn't a bust — he's stuck behind Pat Surtain, Riley Moss, and Ja'Quan McMillian, and that's a good problem • Sai'vion Jones, Tyler Onyedim, and Eyioma Uwazurike — who steps up to fill the JFM rotation with Malcolm Roach? • Backup linebacker concerns: Red Murdock and Dorian York haven't shown enough behind Justin Strnad and Alex Singleton • Taylor Rapp waived — opening the door for J.L. Broncos Fall 33-13 to Packers — But Bo Nix Is Back | Postgame Podcast
2026/08/25
The season opener of the Postgame Podcast is here, and Kevin, John and Adam waste no time getting into it. The Broncos dropped their second preseason game 33-13 to Green Bay at Empower Field, but the box score buries the actual story: Bo Nix looked healthy, sharp, and completely unbothered by the ankle. Nix opened with a touchdown drive, hit Jaylen Waddle on a 35-yard strike, and put 10 points on the board in two drives before handing it off. RJ Harvey took a wheel route to the house. The offense, for two possessions, looked exactly like what you'd hoped. Then came everything else. Missed open-field tackles. Penalties that killed drives. A second quarter Green Bay owned 16-3. The guys don't sugarcoat it — this was sloppy, undisciplined football, and Sean Payton's standard doesn't allow for it. Also in this episode: Jahdae Barron vs. Kris Abrams-Draine filling in for Riley Moss (ribs — not serious, out for preseason game three)Jonah Coleman carving into a J.K. Bo Nix Returns: Broncos vs. Packers Preseason Pregame
2026/08/20
Bo Nix is back. For the first time since the January ankle injury against Buffalo, the Broncos QB1 takes the field Friday night at Empower Field for 10-15 snaps against the Green Bay Packers. David and Spotty break down what actually matters when the starter is that limited, what Sean Payton and Davis Webb are likely to show, and why the ankle is officially a non-issue in Denver. Beyond Bo, the biggest storylines heading into Week 2 preseason: Jaydn Ott with the ones? Not confirmed, but the rookie RB has been running so well with the twos that a first-team cameo would surprise nobody. Why the Broncos should get him meaningful reps early. The WR hierarchy is getting crowded. Pat Bryant is solidifying a real role. Waddle likely sits. That puts Marvin Mims and Troy Franklin into a contract-year competition for WR4/WR5 — and the guys break down why Mims' skill set may already be pointing him toward New England long-term.Tight ends and the Davis Webb–Evan Engram connection. They played on the same team before Denver. That's a relationship that could unlock the position Broncos fans have been waiting on since Shannon Sharpe.Jordan Love IS expected to play. Which turns this defense's second series into a legitimate stress test. The Broncos went 60+ sacks last year. Can they hunt a real QB early? The nickel corner logjam. Riley Moss is having a monster camp. Ja'Quan McMillian isn't giving up his role. That leaves 2025 first-rounder Jahdae Barron asking what the hell he has to do — a first-world problem if there ever was one.The Taylor Rapp signing is bigger than the headlines. A former Bills and Rams starter as your third or fourth safety? That's A-plus depth, and it puts real pressure on JL Skinner, Devon Key, and Tyson Anderson to earn their roster spot.Score predictions. David called Broncos 27, Falcons 10 last week (off by a field goal). Both guys make their Week 2 picks. Grab your bourbon, settle in, and get ready for Friday night football.
