Why Am I So Tired All The Time?
2026/06/20
Why do so many people feel exhausted even after a full night's sleep? In this episode, Dr. Stephen Lewis, D.C. discusses common contributors to fatigue including thyroid health, hormones, nutrient deficiencies, stress, sleep quality, and why testing can provide valuable insights. Common Causes of Hair Loss and What You Need to Know
2026/04/30
You might notice more hair than usual in the shower, thinning around your temples, or your ponytail feeling smaller than it used to. Instead of focusing only on the hair itself, functional medicine looks at the bigger picture. Hormone balance, thyroid health, nutrient levels, stress, and metabolism all influence the environment where hair follicles grow.
Looking Beyond Normal Lab Results
2026/04/15
A laboratory result inside its reference range is useful information, but it is not a guarantee that every possible health problem has been ruled out. Results need to be interpreted with the reason for testing, symptoms, health history, medicines, test preparation, and—when relevant—earlier results. Persistent symptoms deserve appropriate evaluation, but they do not automatically mean that a hidden disease must be present.
One of the most common concerns we hear is, “My blood work was normal, but I still don’t feel like myself.” Fatigue, brain fog, digestive concerns, discomfort, or low energy can be frustrating when an initial test does not provide a clear explanation. Understanding what a reference range does—and does not—mean can make the next conversation more productive.
What Is a Laboratory Reference Range?
A reference range is the interval a laboratory uses to compare an individual result with results observed in a defined reference population. Different laboratories may use different methods, units, and reference ranges. Age, sex, and other factors may also affect which range applies.
The National Library of Medicine’s guide to understanding laboratory results explains two important points: a healthy person can sometimes have a result outside a reference range, and a result inside a reference range does not always rule out a health condition. A result should therefore be read against the range printed on that specific laboratory report rather than a range copied from another source.
Why Symptoms and Results Must Be Considered Together
A laboratory test answers a defined question about the sample collected. It does not capture every possible cause of a symptom, and no single panel is appropriate for every person. The meaning of a result may depend on why the test was ordered, the person’s health history, physical findings, medicines and supplements, and the pattern formed by related results.
This does not mean every persistent symptom requires more laboratory testing. Sometimes the appropriate next step is a clinical examination, review of sleep or medicines, a change in monitoring, a referral, or watchful follow-up. Additional testing is most useful when it addresses a reasonable question raised by the overall picture.
Laboratory Values Can Vary
Some variation between measurements is expected. A person’s biology changes over time, and test results can also be influenced by sample collection and preparation. Time of day, recent food or drink, hydration, strenuous exercise, medicines, vitamins, supplements, and whether preparation instructions were followed can matter for particular tests.
MedlinePlus advises patients to follow the instructions for a specific test and to tell the healthcare professional or laboratory about medicines and supplements and any preparation instructions that were not followed. Its laboratory preparation guide explains why these details can affect accuracy. Laboratory-medicine research also distinguishes biological variation from pre-analytical and analytical variation when evaluating changes between results.
What a “Normal” Result May Mean for the Next Step
The initial question may have been answered. A result can make a suspected explanation less likely, even when symptoms continue.
The symptom may have another cause. Many symptoms are nonspecific and overlap across sleep, nutrition, medicines, stress, mental health, and medical conditions.
A trend may be more informative than one number. When clinically appropriate, results obtained under comparable conditions can help a qualified professional assess change over time.
Another kind of evaluation may be needed. Additional testing is only one possibility; examination, medication review, referral, or monitoring may be more appropriate.
Seek prompt medical attention for severe, rapidly worsening, or otherwise concerning symptoms. A wellness or laboratory-review service should not delay urgent or primary medical care.
How Green Wisdom Health Uses Laboratory Information
Green Wisdom Health reviews laboratory findings alongside the information you provide about your concerns and wellness goals. The purpose is to help you understand the results and prepare for informed next steps—not to declare that every in-range value is “optimal,” prove that an illness exists, or promise that testing will uncover one root cause.
Read the Laboratory Testing overview to compare the Health Survey, Core Lab Panels, Specialty Lab Panels, and the review process. If you are unsure where to begin, the secure Health Survey gives the Green Wisdom Health team context for the conversation.
If low energy is your main concern, Why Am I So Tired All The Time? explains several common contributors to fatigue and when symptoms need prompt medical evaluation.
Listen to the Companion Podcast
The companion Green Wisdom Health podcast discusses why a laboratory report should be considered together with the person behind the numbers. The written guidance above provides the key definitions, limitations, and source material for readers who prefer an article format.

Supporting Hormones in a High Stress World
2026/04/09
Have you ever felt like stress just hits you harder than it used to?
Maybe your sleep is lighter. Your patience is shorter. PMS feels more intense. Or you feel wired but exhausted at the same time.
Many men and women assume this is just part of modern life.
But there is real biochemistry behind why stress can feel more disruptive in a woman’s body.
In our latest podcast, you’ll find out:
• How cortisol and progesterone share hormonal building blocks
• Why chronic stress can lower progesterone over time
• How this shift impacts mood, sleep, cycles, and resilience
• Why stress tolerance often changes in perimenopause
• What you can do to rebuild your stress buffering capacity
If stress has been affecting your energy, mood, or cycle more than it used to, this podcast will help you understand why and what you can do about it.
Stress, Anxiety and Depression is not all in your head
2024/09/13
Dr. Stephen Lewis of Green Wisdom Health returns to TSPC today to discuss why so many Americans are dealing with stress, anxiety and depression. The links to diet, life style, gut biomes and what we can do about it.
Welcome, folks. Good Wednesday morning. It is Wednesday, September the 11th, 2024. For this is episode 3, 556 of the survival podcast. We’re bringing back on one of my favorite people to interview Dr. Steven Lewis of green wisdom health. I don’t think he’s been with us since about 2019. If I remember right somewhere in that range, and it’s good to have him back on today.
We’re going to be talking about stress, anxiety, and depression and how, no, it’s. Not all in your head. There’s a variety of environmental and nutritional stressors that are actually causing stress. when you have stress, then maybe you have anxiety.
And then maybe when you’re stressed out and have anxiety. Maybe you get depressed, so you might feel it in your head some, but there are things that you can do to alleviate this and, Dr. Lewis will be with us in just a minute.
Next up today, you know, we’re going to talk about stress and one of those things that stresses people out is money and having your money constantly erode. That’ll stress you out. Well, you know, I don’t ever recommend going in all in on anything, but I’ll tell you, I’ve been recommending alternative investments for as long as I’ve done this show.
Anyway, with that, let’s bring Dr lewis back on to the survival podcast. Steven, man, welcome to the show. Hey, it’s good to be back. Can you just start out with, instead of our subject today, kind of your origin story. Before you decided to go to chiropractic school and then kind of go down this whole world of nutrition with those studies, what was your life like before that?
What led you in that direction to choose this as a profession?
Well, my parents always took us to the chiropractor first and then an osteopath or MB. Later, if the chiropractor suggested it, I always thought there should be a very symbiotic relationship between them. And that’s mostly true now, but, a chiropractor talked me into being a chiropractor and it’s been a really good road, because I couldn’t handle the blood and guts.
I admired the medical profession, but I’ve seen so many people get well. by taking supplements. And I know the FDA says, it can’t help a symptom or cure a disease, but still your body has to have the basics just to work with and our food doesn’t have it. And that’s why I kind of really admire what you’re doing.
You’re teaching people to grow more nutritious food. And you tell them it’s not the soil, it’s the microorganism that’s, fixing the nitrogen, for example. we’re going to talk about microorganisms today and how important that is in your brain health, stress, anxiety, depression, your musculoskeletal health.
early on in my chiropractic career, I was really busy. And I noticed that when I put people on nutrients to stop the musculoskeletal inflammation, Then say well God I see better. I’m not as stressed or my husband’s nicer to me Which meant I’m not as irritable it all works together structure function nerve supply nutrition and choosing a happy attitude.
I think right now people are experiencing more anxiety more depression. but they’re also dealing with kind of, as you alluded to, like, and probably part of this is like gut inflammation and you’re a chiropractor. So I would imagine muscular skeletal issues or something you’d be looking at.
how are all these challenges interconnected? Cause I think people tend to like make these compartmentalized, like anxiety and depressions over here. And that’s exactly what pharmaceutical companies want. Cause then they can tell you, right. Take this drug that’s on the TV where the mentally, mentally, depressed person is dancing through a field.
And then when your hands twitch, take this other drug to go with that first drug. So that’s a great money making formula, but it doesn’t seem like For all the drugs we have for these problems now, it seems like there’s more cases of the problem than ever before. So that doesn’t seem to be working.
Well, you know, before I get into what I think the cause is, I think we should choose to be happy.
We should choose to look at it in a quirky way. just a little over a year ago, I was in hospital and they said, did you get your flu shot? I said, I had a bourbon shot. Did you get your RSV shot? I said, I had another bourbon shot. Did you get your shingle shot? I said, oh, hell no. They said, did you get your COVID shot?
I said, I had two bourbon shots for that. And the nurse that was there trying to save my life at the minute, I had him laughing.
Yeah.
And so that probably helped, you know, everybody. So, you know, hormone imbalances, and I’m going to kind of jump the gun here and tell people I’m way different than I was four or five years ago in a lot of good ways.
If people will look on my website, there’s a book called the Pain Relief Nutrition Program. And it gives the top whole food sources to certain nutrients that you need. And, you know, I asked my patients, I said, have you noticed that most of these nutrients come out of meat or animal products?
Not that fruits and vegetables can’t be important, but I’m not a, I’m not a fan of grain at all. And for example, rice and wheat, they’re already grown nutritionally deficient anyway because of our soil and you cover that real well. But by the time they get through Modifying that, 80 percent of the nutrients are gone once they mill it and process it and then spray, you know, artificial folic acid on it, which makes things even worse.
So, it’s hormone imbalance and the pain nutrition, pain relief nutrition program book on the, on the website. I think it’s brilliant. Of course, you know, I wrote it.
Hey, this looks brilliant. By the way, I wrote it, but I can say it for you
Well, you know this I’m different.
I’ve gone a lot more in depth So, you know, we’ll start if you’d like with hormone imbalances, right? Well number one from poor eating And that’s why I think it’s important. I’m not much of a farmer. I can’t make very much grow, but I like what you do. What you’re teaching people. Yes, I do listen to some of your podcasts and like them.
another thing for hormone imbalance is getting older, which I take great exception to that. you can get old very, very slowly if you choose to. But, you know, your hormones can become imbalanced and it causes pain related symptoms. That’s one thing I noticed in my practice is like, well, what’s really causing this pain?
And I asked a lady the other day, she said, well, my, my right hip is hurting. It feels like it’s 92. I said, well, your left hip doesn’t hurt. How old is that? They never think about it. It’s like, well, you misaligned your car. So it tears up the ball joints and whatever.
That’s a good point from the musculoskeletal structure.
You know, you can put really great tires, expensive tires on a car. If your caster or camber is out, it’s going to tear the tire up. And first turn around and say, Firestone or Kelly or whatever stole me, or Michelin stole me a junk tire. No, you put your good tire on a car that was misaligned, you’re going to have problems.
Well, another way to decrease stress and be happier, and I was in court one time testifying for a sweet little lady that was in a car wreck, and she had, you know, three very degenerated, Discs and vertebrae and she was 67 and I said, well, don’t you think this is just because she’s old had nothing to do with her?
Car wreck and I said, well, I put my mother’s x ray up when she was 62 I said she was in a horrible car wreck 30 40 years ago. Her neck looks real beautiful. The judge says dr Lewis take it down. If you do that again, I’m gonna hold you in contempt of court. So the insurance company attorney They never tell you that’s he’s representing an insurance company.
He said, okay now dr Lewis now that we’ve disregarded your mother’s x rays
Yeah,
you can’t, don’t you think this is just old age? And I said, well, the vertebra above and below the degeneration are the same age. How do you explain that? And they gave the lady 51, 000 for her rec.
So
you have to learn to think outside the box.
And I think we have been. Programmed. If you want to know how I feel, listen to George Carlin. So hormone imbalances, which creates neurotransmitter imbalances, what we call the happy hormones. and I don’t think, you know, and I’m not an MD, I’m a DC, but I don’t think that stress, anxiety, and depression is Paxil, Prozac, or Wellbutrin deficiency.
Agreed. Agreed. I think that that’s, you know, I say it all the time kind of to break it down to going across the board with that, a headache is not an aspirin deficiency.
Exactly.
And it, oh, oh, well then maybe none of this other shit, like you said, is a Paxil deficiency or an Osambic deficiency or whatever.
Somehow humans existed without all of these chemicals for the, you know, for hundreds of thousands of years and if not longer. We’re not really sure. Those are our best estimates that modern humans are somewhere now in the neighborhood of 300 to 400, 000 years we’ve been on this planet. And we made it without Ozambic and Pax Lobet and, It, things to lower our A1C and somehow we actually were actually pretty healthy before, you know, the onset of all this modern food supply and modern living,
The humans, have not needed chiropractors as long, well, they didn’t wear the shoes we wear, they didn’t sleep in the type of beds we did. They were walking around or sleeping most of the time, one or the other. We live much more natural lives. I don’t think my sixth great grandfather in back spent a lot of time sitting in an office chair like I’m in right now.

Emerging research highlights the importance of optimal intake of vitamin K and its critical role in maintaining bone and cardiovascular health. Composed of a group of naturally occurring and structurally similar, fat-soluble vitamins, vitamin K is required for the proper utilization of calcium and helps to bind newly absorbed calcium to the bone matrix. Vitamin K helps maintain bone mineral density by decreasing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that break down bone. It also provides critical cardiovascular protection by activating matrix Gla protein (MGP), a potent inhibitor of circulatory calcification. Along with vitamin D.

We’re not just talking fish oil here—we’re looking at the broader impact of our food choices. We cover everything from the perils of seed oils and farmed fish to monitoring allergies and environmental factors such as high copper levels.
But that’s not all. Our conversation will also bring to light the importance of liver health, particularly in the wee hours of the night, the controversial role of alcohol, and how toxins can spark inflammation, leading to a cascade of neurological diseases.
Vitamin D, cholesterol, and carnitine are all interlinked, and we’re unraveling the connections with practical advice on supplements, lifestyle, and preventative measures. Because the stakes are high, dementia and Alzheimer’s threaten not just our health but also our financial stability and relationships.
We’ll discuss how to reverse cognitive decline with a comprehensive approach. This includes optimal memory support and potent carotenoids such as lutein, crucial for your eyes and the cradle of your cognition in the fight against Alzheimer’s.

Show Notes
Welcome to the Green Wisdom Health Podcast with Dr. Steven and Janet Lewis, where you will learn about natural solutions to common ailments. And now here are your hosts, Dr. Steven and Janet Lewis. Hello and welcome to this week's edition of the Green Wisdom Health Show. I'm Janet Lewis and I'm Dr. Lewis, and we're excited that you guys have joined us again. I know it's been a bit since we've been here, got so many things to tell you as usual. And I'm sure you're really wondering of why this show is called This Broke My Heart. Uh, Dr. Lewis has decided that he would like to go on air and tell his story, which is partially my story too. It just didn't happen to me, but it could have. Um, I wanted to call this show, This Broke My Heart. Really I wanted to call it My Husband's an Idiot, but I still love him. But Janet said no on that. That's not exactly what she said. She prefaced that with heck no. Because your wife's not an idiot and I didn't want to be in that title. So. Well, you married me. Okay. Um, well, the point is that, you know, we have so many of you people that, uh, listen to me in spite of my Texas draw, which abhors me, but, uh, I take lots of supplements and I believe in them and we go through all kinds of convoluted inside out to get the right ones at the best price. But I'm pretty bad about just showing up and shooting from the hip. Y 'all kind of know that. And we're almost like a mechanic, right? It's like we're really great at fixing other people's cars, but sometimes ignore our own. Yeah. I used to go to court. They pay me big bucks to go testify in court and I wouldn't study cause I love embarrassing the hell out of insurance companies, attorneys. But anyway, I didn't target things that I kind of sort of knew I needed to target. And I'm like everybody else. I'm just cheating a little bit when I'm eating that a Hershey bar or ice cream or whatever. And how long had it been since you've done your last lab? Four and a half years and you you've gone five years. Okay. I'm not, I'm not saying that you did that. I'm just trying to divert the attention off me. But anyway, I screwed around, had a heart attack. So the point is folks that I understand that the world's gone through some really difficult times and people, you know, the inflation and that includes the supplements to, uh, some people have a tendency to drop out and, you know, there's, you know, double down and go for it. And, um, anyway, I don't know how deep you want to get into this heart attack thing. Well, the one, basically we had run, we've been extremely stressed, you know, Brandy was our right hand and she's not been here for quite some time now, even though she still works with us remotely, but not physically in the store, which is a lot of work. And, um, we were under tremendous stress and, you know, and all this things going on in the country's not really helping it either. And so we just kept taking everything we always knew to take, you know, which was, I took half the store. I mean, it wasn't like we weren't taking anything. Well, well, we were taking lots of stuff. Well, uh, we just are joining or we're partner partnering now with a triple board certified pain management doctor. And because of that, we decided we'd run our lab and see what was going on and see what she thought about our lab. Cause see, you need an authority figure. Um, and so we had run it and it had been about two weeks prior to Dr. Lewis's heart attack that we had the results back. Both of our labs, we should have been spanked over because they were bad. And if we had run that yearly, we would have caught it in time. But we thought we knew a lot about supplements and you know, if you're taking this and you know, I was on it once, it had to be good from now on. Well, if we would have seen our lab before that happened, we would have targeted it differently. And we had just started exercising again, walking.
Well, what did you feel exactly? What had, how did you know you were having one? Cause didn't it happen? You say it happened in the middle of the night. Oh, I don't know. It's kind of nonspecific, you know, just, you know, you kind of cough to, there's a reflex that tries to lower your chance of, you know, put your heart back in rhythm. I heard you had jaw pain, arm pain. I've had jaw pain, arm pain for years. And I don't know if that's musculoskeletal cause of the stupid stuff I did. The heart attack hurt worse than the, uh, than getting shot and while I was in the hospital and I got up about two o 'clock. So about three 30 that afternoon, Janet. Hold, hold on. This was in the morning, right? You had this. So what Dr. Lewis is missing the point here of what I'm trying to get him to say, purposely, he decided to come to work the whole day first and just told me he didn't feel good, but I knew something wasn't right with him because we have a product in here called liquid capsicum and what it is, it's for open wounds and we pour it on open wounds to help them heal because it does sear them together. Well, Dr. Lewis started drinking it straight at our house and it's a vasodilator. And I was like, are you sure you're supposed to do that? He goes, listen, this makes me feel good. And I thought, this is really weird. So does bourbon, but I didn't drink it. And I thought he didn't look right, but of course he had not been, uh, informing me of the stuff that happened the night before. So, you know, I gave him magnesium. We'd always heard that if you opened a capsule of magnesium that and put it in your lip and let it dissolve there, um, that it would stop a heart attack. We were trained that way. We didn't know if it worked cause we've never been around anybody that's having an actual heart attack, but I was giving them to Dr. Lewis all day long, off and on. And he was drinking this liquid capsicum. And we're not saying don't go to the hospital. Don't have a cardiologist because you didn't, you need to. Yes. I'm just saying when you're thinking, Oh, Hey, these supplements don't work. Yeah, they kind of really did because the story gets really good after this. Um, so anyway, at about three 30, he asked me if I'll drive him to the emergency room. So we went to the emergency room, the, uh, the doctor there said, put him on some machines and said, are you sure he's having a heart attack? Cause it's not really showing. And I said, well he is, I've been given a magnesium, so it's probably slowed it down. He goes, you've done what? And I said, magnesium. And he goes, Oh, well then we're going to need to run a magnesium test because he's probably overdosed on it. I said, Oh dear Lord. I said, no, he's not. I said, I'm just trying to save his life. Well, I'm, I'm always trying to be Joe cool and make their life better and their, their boring stress field shift better. I said, no, if you get overdosed magnesium, I'd be pooping in my pants. And, uh, it got worse and worse and worse. And Janet said, aren't you supposed to give him nitro like in the movies? He said, well, I've got procedure. I've got to go through and it's, it's getting worse and worse and worse. And uh, meanwhile, meanwhile, they, um, finally decide he's having a heart attack because our magnesium caps comes wore off and, uh, they give him the nitro and morphine. And on that, he still has a 212 over something blood pressure and something 65 or something like that. Something crazy high. And I'm thinking, you know, God told me outside he was going to be fine. So I knew he was that, we'll just get this done. He'll, he'll, he'll be done. Well, cardiologists came in super nice as we're going to take you back to surgery. If it all goes well, we'll go through your wrist. Uh, w you do have a blockage. Um, so he said, we're going to go and try to put a stent in. And so then they decided that there was a man that had come in ahead of him that was really bad, like near death. He coded. Yeah, he did code. So they took him ahead of Dr. Lewis. So, um, Dr. Lewis had to wait two and a half more hours to get into the surgery room, which made him start having more problems because he says it in a calm tone of voice. If he says it's a 10, it's a 10. And I said, have you ever heard this song? Everybody wants to see Jesus, but nobody wants to go now. Right. And so two and a half hours later, anyway, uh, the cardiologist come out and said, you know, we, we saved the other guy. And so they took Dr. Lewis back and they said, we're on a roll today. Um, he's going to be fine. He was, Dr. Lewis was back to 35 minutes and they were
The Natural Way to Boost Testosterone
2023/05/23
Are you feeling tired, depressed, and lacking libido? You might be experiencing low testosterone levels. Low testosterone can affect both men and women. But before you rush to the doctor for synthetic testosterone replacement therapy, listen to Dr. Stephen and Janet Lewis talk about the natural way to boost testosterone.
Products Mentioned in Today's Show:
Nitric Oxide Revive represents an extended-release nitric oxide precursor. Scientists now refer to nitric oxide (NO) as the “foundation” of cardiovascular health. This tiny molecule is a vasodilator responsible for controlling blood flow to the entire body, which may help support healthy blood flow pressure and promote the health of the endothelium—the inside of blood vessels. With age comes diminished NO levels; that’s why since 1998, when three scientists won the Nobel Prize for their discovery of NO, researchers have been working to harness its heart-healthy activity. Today, with the application of extended-release technology, that activity has been realized with Nitric Oxide Revive.
Testo Essentials Max features two safe, clinically-tested, standardized, and patented ingredients designed to support vitality and general physical and mental well-being in men and women. Numerous studies have demonstrated that PrimaVie® shilajit and LJ100® Eurycoma longifolia support healthy androgen biosynthesis, which includes modulating the influence of sex hormone-binding globulin.†

SHOW NOTES:
Speaker 0 (00:00:01) - Welcome to the Green Wisdom Health Podcast with Dr. Steven and Janet Lewis, where you will learn about natural solutions to common ailments. And now here are your hosts, Dr. Steven and Janet Lewis.
Janet Lewis (00:00:18) - Hello and welcome to this week's edition of the Green Wisdom Health Show. I'm Janet Lewis.
Dr. Stephen Lewis (00:00:24) - And I'm Dr. Lewis.
Janet Lewis (00:00:25) - And we are excited that you are here today listening to our testosterone podcast, because who doesn't need testosterone? Apparently a lot of people are lacking testosterone, so that's why Dr. Lewis wrote a book about it. But today, we are going to educate men and women about how to balance it naturally. I know people are used to getting patches and things, but we have a little bit different approach, don't we, Dr. Lewis?
Dr. Stephen Lewis (00:00:54) - Yeah. I've never thought that, uh, disease was a lack of a drug. And, you know, everybody's got an opinion, but, uh, success leaves clues, but so does failure.
Janet Lewis (00:01:07) - Well, um, you know, I think there's maybe some hormonal issues that go on that people don't even realize or could be a testosterone issue, and they're different for men and women. Uh, you know, usually you hear men saying, I need testosterone used to them getting pellets, or,
Dr. Stephen Lewis (00:01:25) - That started with Tim Allen going two the two men.
Janet Lewis (00:01:29) - Yeah. But why, why is that so rampant nowadays that the testosterone is low? I, I, you know, maybe that's a better place to start.
Dr. Stephen Lewis (00:01:39) - You know, there, there are a lot of things, and, and it, it's multifaceted. Well, our food is terrible. They're genetically modified. And I know there's some people say that doesn't matter. Yes, it does. We've been to Europe and we've been to China. It does make a difference. The other thing is we have so many, uh, different things in our environment, 85,000 to a hundred thousand different chemicals that act like estrogen. And that's why, and you've heard me say it many times before, little girls develop breast and menstrual cycle years before they're supposed to. Little boys are getting more and more feminine. And if you hadn't noticed that, you ain't paying attention. And that's why there's, uh, an epidemic of, uh, low testosterone, only more low T clinics popping up and, you know, they're getting, uh, whether it's pellets or shots or whatever. But there, there are some real issues here, and that's why it's very important to, uh, increase your nutrient intake so that your body can ramp up.
Dr. Stephen Lewis (00:02:37) - Uh, the detoxification processes. We've, we've talked about that in the weight loss about, well, it is not just losing fat cells. You've got to deal with the, uh, toxins that are in there. And, and you have to be careful. And that's why we talk about discerning spirit, because some people say, oh, I read this and, and it's mercury, it's mercury poisoning. I said, what are you gonna do about the other 85,000 things? And it, and it could be mercury poisoning if you're taking, uh, high fructose corns syrup up, which is in all kinds of things hidden, you get a lot of mercury just from that. So, but there, there are other things to deal with. So why it, it's because all these estrogen mimicking chemicals or estrogens, uh, are offsetting your testosterone as it offsets progesterone in a woman also,
Janet Lewis (00:03:26) - You know, and I think these, uh, clinics have been around long enough now that most people just think that's a normal thing to do, is, um, to get those pellets or, or shots, because a lot of people are doing it and there's a lot of clinics, but there are some side effects to that, right?
Dr. Stephen Lewis (00:03:45) - Yep. Yeah. I tell people are, are, they come in and say, well, this isn't working anymore. And, you know, I look at their lab and say, well, Jesus, your, your liver's overwhelmed. And you know, I'm a chiropractor. I, I look at things from a musculoskeletal standpoint, but if you do the nutrients to fix your musculoskeletal system, you'd be surprised what else shows up to get well. And, and it's like, I know I had this idea that there is a God, I know that's kind of unusual for some people. Uh, and so we tell people, when your heart's overwhelmed, we will help you fill it with peace. And then the other thing is, you know, I'm a little bit blunt and I tell people, stop eating crap. And they say, well, no, I eat good. And no you don't. Crap stands for carbonated drinks, refined sugars, artificial foods, and processed foods. There. I've got a zillion patients and I absolutely love. But then you've got Alan up in Maine, and he sends me stuff from time to time. He says, well, I haul goldfish, but I don't eat 'em. . And Alan, you bring joy to my heart. You really do. And a lot of other people too. But, uh, here's a guy that hauls him in his truck, but he's smart enough not to eat him.
Janet Lewis (00:05:05) - Well, that's funny. I didn't know that's what he did. So that's,
Dr. Stephen Lewis (00:05:09) - Oh, at one time, at least , .
Janet Lewis (00:05:12) - But you know, I, I think we've all been so conditioned to, we will just take a drug or put, put something in our body to replace what's, what seems to be missing. Didn't God give us all that we needed there?
Dr. Stephen Lewis (00:05:25) - Well, I think so, but it's not in our food is the problem. And, and you know, I understand some of the things I say are controversial, and sometimes I say it in a manner that's not always polite. I tell people, you want me to shoot straight or sugar coat it? If you want sugar coated, you need to get some donuts. And here's the thing I want you to think about. Depression is not an s sri deficiency. Heart disease is not a statin deficiency. Diabetes is not a metformin deficiency. A d d and a ADHD is not an Adderall deficiency. Insomnia is not an ambient deficiency, and obesity is not an ozempic deficiency. Okay, that's blunt, isn't it? Sorry, I'm, I'm gonna put a package of sugarcoated donuts on my desk just to have people think, uh, or question. But I want you to think about these things and, and always use your discerning spirit because this is Dr. Lewis's opinion. But as I said earlier, success leaves clues pay attention to who's successful.
Janet Lewis (00:06:28) - Well, and I think one thing, um, you know, low testosterone symptoms in male are, you know, obviously low libido and erectile dysfunction, but
Dr. Stephen Lewis (00:06:38) - Which is rampant.
Janet Lewis (00:06:40) - But did you know when you start? Well, you probably do if you're doing it. If when you start taking something, something to replace testosterone, aren't your testicle shrink up too, Dr. Lewis? Yeah. Isn't that where it's made and they don't need, they're not needed anymore. Yeah.
Dr. Stephen Lewis (00:06:58) - Uh, it's called lad cells. And that's from 40 years ago. I took the test . Anyway. Yes, they do, but they, they shrink. If you get your testosterone shots and or your pellets, and the testicles say, well, we've got plenty of, uh, testosterone, we'll just, uh, kind of hang around, pun intended, uh,
Janet Lewis (00:07:18) - And men don't really like that. Also kind of makes 'em have some bald patches on the back of their head. I've noticed that too. It's like their hair starts leaving a little bit faster and it should have
Dr. Stephen Lewis (00:07:28) - Got, you know, and Janet says, I have here in the hospital, I didn't hear her say that. I thought she said, ball patches. So nevermind , you know, our, our goal and, and I'm in a real smart lic mood and people say, well, what else is new? You know, our goal is to die, but die as healthy as we can, as late as we can in a much younger body.
Janet Lewis (00:07:51) - Yeah. We wanna look good with hair, right?
Dr. Stephen Lewis (00:07:54) - ? Yeah. I asked Janet, is my hair thinning? She says, oh, heck no. Quit worrying about it.
Janet Lewis (00:07:59) - And I'm not, and I'm not picking on them, man. I'm just telling you that these are some things that are caused by, uh, synthetic. Um, well,
Dr. Stephen Lewis (00:08:08) - But you, you gotta get started. You, you've got to change your oil before the engine catches on. Fire starts smoking. Usually by the time people seek help fr
