Better Tolerance: Not Everything is Life or Death
2026/10/02
LifeBlood: We live in a world that increasingly pushes us toward black-and-white thinking: good or evil, right or wrong, friend or enemy, us or them.
But human beings aren't black and white.
This episode explores the difference between chiaroscuro- the artistic use of dramatic contrasts between light and darkness- and sfumato, where colors and tones softly blend together. What if we're being encouraged to see a chiaroscuro world when reality is much more sfumato?
You'll learn why disagreement doesn't require disconnection, why tolerance needs boundaries, how polarization exploits our desire for simplicity, and why high-trust families, communities, and societies depend on our ability to disagree without becoming enemies.

The Work of Life is Inside: The Joy of Life is Outside
2026/09/30
LifeBlood: The work of life is inside. The joy of life is outside.
We spend a lot of time searching outside ourselves for the missing piece—the relationship, money, success, recognition, accomplishment, or experience that will finally make us feel whole. But there’s no external solution to an internal problem.
The real work is inside: self-awareness, responsibility, forgiveness, discipline, humility, courage, and learning to understand ourselves. But we shouldn’t mistake the work for the life.
The purpose of becoming a healthier, stronger, more complete person isn’t endless introspection. It’s becoming more capable of loving, connecting, contributing, serving, creating, and being fully present with other people.
And since none of us gets to disappear into the woods until we’ve figured ourselves out, we have to learn to be doing while we’re becoming.
This episode explores what it means to live from the inside out, why everyone you meet is an unfinished human being, and how doing the inner work can help us more fully experience the joy waiting outside ourselves.

Family: The Most Important Thing You'll Ever Build
2026/09/28
LifeBlood: We spend enormous amounts of time building careers, businesses, résumés, investment portfolios, and net worth. But what are all those things supposed to be for?
G.K. Chesterton called family a “fairy-tale”- an unpredictable world filled with people we didn't choose, rules we didn't write, and adventures we couldn't anticipate. C.S. Lewis argued that our enormous economic and social machinery ultimately exists so people can live safely and meaningfully in their homes.
In this episode, we explore what happens when we get that relationship backwards…and why building a strong family may be among the most important work any of us ever does.

Number Your Days: You've Only Got So Many of Them
2026/09/25
LifeBlood: There are only about 50 Saturdays in a year.
An 80-year life contains roughly 4,000 weeks.
Your kids will only believe in Santa for a handful of Christmases. There will be a finite number of dinners with your parents, years when your body is at its strongest, and seasons when you have the energy to build something meaningful.
Psalm 90:12 tells us, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
The Stoics called it memento mori. Martin Heidegger explored Being-toward-Death. Different traditions arrive at a similar truth: accepting that life is finite can help us live it more intentionally.
This episode explores what it means to number your days as a parent, child, competitor, entrepreneur, and human being…and how to develop a healthy relationship with mortality without turning your life into an anxiety-producing countdown.
The goal isn't maximum utilization.
It's intentional allocation.
Time isn't something you have. Time is your life.

The Fiction of Instant:Why Everything Takes Longer than We'd LIke
2026/09/21
LifeBlood: We've been sold the fiction of instant.
Next-day delivery. Food on demand. Buy now, pay later. Endless entertainment at our fingertips. We've engineered waiting out of more and more of our lives…and somehow started expecting everything else to work the same way.
But the things that actually matter don't.
You can't DoorDash a great marriage. You can't Amazon Prime financial freedom. You can't download wisdom, microwave mastery, or overnight-ship character.
A strong body, meaningful relationships, financial independence, mastery, purpose, and a life you're proud of all require time.
And that's the paradox: meaningful things take time, but we don't have time to waste.

Raising Strong Sons and Daughters: Preparing Them to Holdout When Necessary
2026/09/18
How do you raise children who are strong enough to stand alone?
Someday, your son or daughter may find themselves in a room where everyone else believes one thing—and they believe another. You won't be there to tell them what to do.
So how do we raise independent thinkers who can recognize what's true, decide what's right, trust their instincts, and have the courage to act on their convictions?
In this episode of LifeBlood, George Grombacher talks about raising strong sons and daughters, why obedience cannot be the ultimate goal of parenting, teaching children how to think instead of what to think, allowing kids to experience consequences, developing courage through small acts of bravery, and giving them principles that matter more than popularity.
We also explore an important distinction: raising independent thinkers doesn't mean raising contrarians. Automatically disagreeing with the crowd is just another way of letting the crowd control you.
The goal is conviction with humility.
Raise children who can belong without surrendering themselves—and who are strong enough to stand alone when it matters.

How to Find World Peace: It's Easier Than You Think
2026/09/16
LifeBlood: World peace feels like one of humanity’s biggest and most impossible challenges. But what if we’ve been starting in the wrong place?
Mother Teresa is widely credited with offering a remarkably simple answer when asked what someone could do to promote world peace: “Go home and love your family.”
This episode explores the order of operations for peace…why it begins with the individual, moves into the family, spreads through communities, and only then has a chance of changing the world.
You may not be able to stop a war, heal political division, or fix humanity. But you can forgive someone. You can become a better spouse or parent. You can raise good children, become a good neighbor, strengthen your community, and bring peace to the small part of the world entrusted to you.
World peace starts at home.

Faithfulness Over Success: Become a Good Steward
2026/09/14
LifeBlood: What if the goal of your life isn't to become great?
We're encouraged to dream big, achieve more, build something extraordinary, and make our mark. And there’s nothing inherently wrong with ambition. But ambition makes a terrible god.
In this episode, we explore the deeper meaning of “Well done, good and faithful servant,” the difference between achievement and stewardship, and why a meaningful life may have less to do with becoming extraordinary and more to do with faithfully using what you've already been given.

The Right Person to Lead: How to Stop Electing Morons
2026/09/11
LifeBlood: Who is actually the right person to lead?
The smartest person? The strongest? The most empathetic? The toughest? The most experienced?
Maybe we're asking the wrong questions.
Modern politics seems increasingly designed to select for fundraising, charisma, tribal loyalty, outrage, attention, and the ability to win elections. But none of those things necessarily correlate with wisdom, judgment, courage, economic literacy, or the ability to govern.
And with enormous fiscal challenges facing the United States, vibes aren't getting us out of this one.
This episode explores what we should actually select for in our leaders: character, intellect, wisdom, practical experience, courage, humility, communication ability, and demonstrated competence.
Maybe the first thing we need to do is take off our political jerseys and stop treating elections like sporting events.

What's the Way Forward? How to Take Action in Uncertain Times
2026/09/09
LifeBlood: What’s the way forward?
For starters…it’s forward. You cannot change the past, reclaim lost years, or undo what happened to you. You can forgive, learn, accept reality, determine your next best move, and start moving.
This episode explores why victimhood is a losing strategy, why maintaining the status quo isn’t enough, the importance of gateway actions when you feel lost, and our responsibility to steward and strengthen the things that matter.
Good things require good people to continually invest in them.
The future is being built whether you participate or not.

The Town that Ate its Seed Corn: EVERYTHING Compounds
2026/09/07
LifeBlood: There was once a prosperous farming town with a peculiar tradition: every harvest, they took some of their very best corn and locked it away.
They called it seed corn.
Then someone asked a perfectly reasonable question: Why are we keeping perfectly good food in a barn when people could eat it today?
So they ate some. Nothing bad happened. In fact, things got better.
Until decades later, when the town found itself facing a mysterious shortage no expert could quite explain.
This episode explores compounding, second and third-order consequences, our preference for the present, and one of the most difficult questions any civilization must answer:
What do we owe the future?

This Ends Here: When to Draw a Line in the Sand
2026/09/04
LifeBlood: There comes a point when keeping your mouth shut stops being prudence and starts becoming self-betrayal.
We live in an age of tribalism, outrage, intimidation, and ideological zealotry. Too often, reasonable people respond by holding their tongues, nodding along, and avoiding uncomfortable conversations.
But silence has a cost.
This episode explores courage, conviction, individual rights, personal responsibility, and what it means to stand for principles without becoming another zealot.
Bad ideas are bad ideas regardless of who has them. Principles that only apply to your enemies aren't principles.
The challenge is to decide what you actually believe, determine what you're unwilling to surrender, and find the courage to calmly say: No. Not anymore. This ends here.

Undeniable Ambition
2026/08/31
LifeBlood: Every civilization must answer one timeless question: What should we do with human ambition?
James Madison believed ambition should check ambition. Ayn Rand believed it should be unleashed. Karl Marx believed it was created by capitalism. B.F. Skinner believed it could be engineered away. Adam Smith believed ambition required virtue. Elinor Ostrom showed how ordinary people build extraordinary institutions.
This episode explores what these thinkers got right, what they got wrong, and why the systems we build matter more than the intentions we have.Your future isn't determined by your intentions.
It's determined by the systems surrounding your ambitions.
