Die to Lust and Live to Love
2026/04/15
Within Jesus’ words in John 15 is a foundational truth for the victorious Christian life: abide.  Now, as beautiful as that word is, it’s actually not as easy as it sounds. As you’ll learn in today’s sermon, the path to abiding in Christ is quite difficult for our flesh nature. But as Ministry Outreach Director Patrick Hudson explains, the life you end up living makes the path completely worth it. 🛣️   Scripture quotations are from The ESV® Bible (The Holy Bible, English Standard Version®), copyright © 2001 by Crossway, a publishing ministry of Good News Publishers. How God's Love Breaks the Chains of Sin
2026/04/08
If you’ve tried accountability groups, special software, Christian counseling, and even snapping a rubber band on your wrist, and you’re still stuck in sexual sin, the answer isn’t to try something new. It’s to go back. Back to your first love. In today’s sermon, Residential Counseling Director Luke Imperato expounds on 1 Corinthians 13 and how it proves that God’s love can break the chains of sin.   Scripture quotations taken from the (LSB®) Legacy Standard Bible®, Copyright © 2021 by The Lockman Foundation. The Four Cries of Sodom
2026/03/25
We talk a lot about the problems and consequences of sin, but how do people actually get to the place where sin is ruining their lives? There is always a backstory. Understanding why people end up bound by habitual sin is an important aspect to finding victory because, at some level, coming into a lifestyle of freedom involves retracing one’s steps. Steve Gallagher’s explanation of “The Four Cries of Sodom” describe Heaven’s outrage about perversion as well as the path out of judgment and into freedom.   Scripture quotations marked (ESV) are from The ESV® Bible (The Holy Bible, English Standard Version®), copyright © 2001 by Crossway, a publishing ministry of Good News Publishers. One Thing Struggling Christians Are Missing
2026/03/18
As a professing Christian, have you struggled with sexual sin or some other form of sin consistently? The problem could very well be the quality of your Christian life. With apologetics and theology as big resources in the church—which is by no means a bad thing—it’s all too common to mistake knowing facts about Jesus with having a relationship with Him. Is that you? ⛓️ Director of Ministry Outreach Patrick Hudson explains this dilemma using Isaiah chapters 53-55, and shows us the way into victory in today’s sermon.   Scripture quotations are from The ESV® Bible (The Holy Bible, English Standard Version®), copyright © 2001 by Crossway, a publishing ministry of Good News Publishers. The Word of God Changes Lives
2026/03/11
If you’ve been broken down by sexual sin, we have good news for you: God has provided the means for transformation. It’s in His word. But it’s not simply a matter of knowledge. As a matter of fact, there’s an increasing amount of church attendees who know the Bible really well, but also habitually indulge in sinful behavior. Transformation is a matter of submission—submission to a process which Residential Counseling Director Luke Imperato lays out clearly in today’s message.   Scripture quotations taken from the (LSB®) Legacy Standard Bible®, Copyright © 2021 by The Lockman Foundation. Do Thine Own Will
2026/02/25
Abraham and Lot shared the same roots, but their similarities end there. Abraham spent his years pressed into God, doing his utmost to find and obey the will of God. Lot was convinced that he could make his own decisions, do his own will and run his own life. Predictably, Abraham enjoyed blessing after blessing while Lot’s life was a downward spiral of one calamity after another. In today’s sermon, Steve Gallagher carefully examines their lives to show us how important it is for those struggling with sexual sin to find and obey the will of God.   Scripture quotations are from The ESV® Bible (The Holy Bible, English Standard Version®), copyright © 2001 by Crossway, a publishing ministry of Good News Publishers. Worldliness Fuels Lust
2026/02/18
Many people want help getting free from lust and sexual sin. However, not many people want freedom over a love of the world. The problem is, if our lives are full of worldliness, we are fueling the very desires that feed lust. That means freedom will be very difficult, if not impossible. The Bible repeatedly gives evidence of this. Look at Lot, Samson, King Solomon, the entire nation Israel… But there is a way to come out of it and into a life of victory, and that’s what Director of Ministry Outreach, Patrick Hudson, shares about in today’s sermon from Psalm 73.   Scripture quotations are from The ESV® Bible (The Holy Bible, English Standard Version®), copyright © 2001 by Crossway, a publishing ministry of Good News Publishers. Strong Faith Produces Deep Deliverance
2026/02/04
The person struggling with sexual sin faces the same sort of challenges that Abraham faced: How to live for God in a culture that is full of unbelief, idolatry and an abundance of enticing temptations? The answer for him is the same for us: a living, robust faith in God. There is no question but that the level and strength of our faith is going to determine the level of freedom we walk in. Saving, living faith is birthed through our response to the call from God, begins its journey with a complete break with the old life and lives in an awareness of the unseen realm. No devil from hell can reach a person’s heart who lives with this quality of faith.    Scripture quotations marked (ESV) are from The ESV® Bible (The Holy Bible, English Standard Version®), copyright © 2001 by Crossway, a publishing ministry of Good News Publishers. God’s Presence: Our Hope In Our Destruction
2026/01/21
To the person who is struggling with sexual sin: Do you feel as if you’ve been conquered by the enemy of your soul? The book of Lamentations is surprisingly very applicable because it was written in Jerusalem after it was destroyed by its enemies—and the author finds hope in God. In today’s message, Dr. John Oswalt draws five truths out of this book which still apply today.   Scriptures taken from the Holy Bible, New International Version®, NIV®. Why Jesus Came: 3 Life-Changing Reasons
2026/01/07
As we finish celebrating Jesus’ first coming, we invite you to consider precisely why Jesus came to earth in the first place. There’s so much hope for the sinner in considering these things! But there’s also a call: a call to repent of sin and believe the gospel. And it’s this call which our Residential Counseling Director, Luke Imperato, gives in today’s sermon.   Scripture taken from the New King James Version®. Copyright © 1982 by Thomas Nelson. God’s Knowledge of You
2025/12/26
Do you realize just how involved God has been in your life? If you’re reading this, chances are that you’ve struggled with sexual sin and have tried countless ways to overcome it—counseling, accountability software, regular meetings with your pastor. But we’re here to tell you that real and lasting freedom doesn’t come from those things alone. Psalm 139 shows us the true key to victory: an intimate knowledge of God and His intimate knowledge of you. In today’s sermon, Steve Gallagher breaks down David’s powerful prayer at the end of this psalm and calls all who battle with sexual sin to earnestly seek the Lord with that same prayer.   Scripture quotations are from The ESV® Bible (The Holy Bible, English Standard Version®), copyright © 2001 by Crossway, a publishing ministry of Good News Publishers. A Happy Thanksgiving for the Two-Talent Servant
2025/12/17
Sexual sin is not the only sin which struggling believers deal with. But some other sins are more hidden. Yet these will have no less a terrible impact on the Christian's life if he does not stand against them. In today’s message, Director of Ministry Outreach, Patrick Hudson, discusses three of these discreet sins and shares how to be on guard against them. How to Cleanse the Polluted Soul
2025/12/10
Good news, struggling Christian: God does want to bless you. But if your soul has been polluted by sexual sin, He must do a cleansing work in order to make you capable of receiving the wonderful life He has for you. In today’s sermon, Steve Gallagher shares three biblical steps you must take to join God in His cleansing work. And for your personal use in this process, we’re glad to share with you the “Mercy” prayer, which we give to everyone in our counseling programs. You can download it here: https://bit.ly/MercyPrayer Lord, I thank you for __________________ . I thank you for saving him. Thank you for what you have done and are doing in his life. Make ____________________ to know Jesus. Help him to increase in the knowledge of God. Destroy speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God and help him to bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Make ______________________ poor in spirit. Bring him down, Lord, but please do it gently. Help him to see his neediness. Help him to see himself in light of you. Put him in his rightful place, Lord. Fill _______________________ with your Holy Spirit. Immerse him in your Spirit, Lord. Come to him in power and might. Baptize him in fire, Lord. Life _______________________. Life him according to Thy loving-kindnesses. Pour out Your life-giving mercies into his soul. Bless _______________________. Lord, bless him in everything he touches. Bless him spiritually, physically, and financially. Bless his loved ones. Do for him Lord, instead of me. Mercy _______________________. Flood him with need-filling mercies. Pour them out in super abundance. Find and meet every need in his life as You see it, Lord. The Kind of Christianity that Will Change the World
2025/12/03
Have you ever wondered how you could worship the Lord one moment, but then give over to sexual sin the next? Perhaps it’s because of the kind of Christianity you’ve been living. There is a kind of Christian life that has little to no impact on a person’s life—one that results in only shallow outward changes. But true Christianity has a deep impact on the soul and produces great spiritual fruit. And it’s this kind of Christianity we all need to win the battle! We’re grateful to have renowned Old Testament scholar, Dr. John Oswalt, return as a regular part of our speaking rotation. In today’s message, he expounds on Romans 12:1-2 and a kind of Christianity that actually works.   Scriptures taken from the Holy Bible, New International Version®, NIV®. Look Up and See Your Jericho Crumble
2025/11/26
Overcoming sexual sin can feel overwhelming to the believer stuck in cycles of failure. This defeatist attitude stems from a wrong way of looking. We look too much at ourselves and at our own weakness. But Scripture reveals that victory over any form of sin comes not from our strength, but from God’s power and might! Asbury Professor Emeritus, Steve Seamands, explains God’s way to victory using the backstory to Joshua’s battle against Jericho. You’ll see that these things were, as the apostle Paul wrote, “written down for our instruction”.   Scriptures taken from the Holy Bible, New International Version®, NIV®.
