There’s been a lot of conversation online about insecurity in Nigeria, with some people framing it as a Christian genocide or a Muslims-versus-Christians issue. While there’s no denying that insecurity is completely out of control, I don’t think it’s honest to reduce something this complex to a religious war. On this episode of random musings, I talk about why, as a Muslim, I refuse to carry shame for so-called “Islamic” terrorists or bandits. Anyone willing to read, learn, or even lightly understand Islam will see that what’s happening has nothing to do with the religion itself. This is not Islam. And because of that, it’s not my shame — or any Muslim’s shame — to carry.

On this episode of random musings, I talk about the Danish deception story that was all over TikTok. I kept seeing people confidently say things like, “I could never be scammed” or “that would never happen to me,” and it got me thinking. The truth is, scams are not one-size-fits-all. Just because one type wouldn’t work on you doesn’t mean another one couldn’t. And most importantly, shaming victims who have to come to share their pain and experience is not exactly the way to go because it just gives the people who commit these crimes the cover to keep doing these evil things. Another round trip around the sun has been completed, and my favourite day of the year is finally here. #Year32 was a season of unlearning, shedding, breaking old patterns, and quietly rebuilding myself from the inside out. It pushed me to release identities that no longer fit and return to the One who has always carried me — the Creator who writes the script long before I step into the scene. #Year32 taught me that joy is something I can reclaim, not something I have to earn. It taught me that peace is not a location — it is a decision. And it reminded me that survival is not the goal anymore… living fully is. As #Year33 begins, I am choosing softness with strength, clearer boundaries, and a deeper trust in Almighty Allah. Whatever the future holds, I walk into it with steadiness, gratitude, and the quiet confidence of someone who has gone through fire and came out whole. Ameen. In this episode, I share the truths, lessons, and little miracles that helped me rewrite myself this year. I hope something in it touches you, affirms you, or permits you to choose joy again. Adulting can feel overwhelming sometimes, but lately I’ve been reflecting on the little joys that come with it, too. Nobody is an overnight success...

June was a lot, and in true Random Musings fashion, I’m here to talk all about it. From starting a brand new role as a Customer Success Manager (oh yes, Raffy is a woman in tech now 👩🏾‍💻), to attending a podcast narrative storytelling workshop by Culture Custodian that filled me with new creative energy, June had me spinning, in the best way possible. But that’s not all. I also got the honour of hosting my best friend’s wedding, which was both magical and hilarious. Oh, and I squeezed in a relaxing day at the beach with my siblings, plus caught one of the best Nollywood films I’ve seen in a while.
