Post-Binge Depression: Why Finishing a Show Can Feel Like a Breakup
2025/12/18
You finally finish the show. The credits roll. And instead of closure, there’s this strange emptiness. That feeling has a name: Post-Binge Depression. In this episode of BingeWorthy Guru, we break down why certain shows hit so hard when they end, why your nervous system gets attached to fictional worlds and characters, and why moving on to the “next thing” doesn’t always work. This isn’t about spoilers or reviews. It’s about the emotional hangover that comes from great storytelling, the comfort TV gives us, and why some endings feel personal. If you’ve ever finished a series and thought, “Why do I feel like this?” This one’s for you.
Welcome to Derry: Is the Hype Justified?
2025/12/11
In today’s episode, I break down Welcome to Derry — the tone, the early atmosphere, and whether this prequel has the creative spine to stand on its own. If you’re wondering what this series is really shaping up to be, this quick hit gives you the essentials without spoilers. We talk showrunner choices, timeline, Stephen King energy, and why this world still pulls so many of us back in. New to the Binge Worthy Guru universe? Stick around. More sharp takes, comfort vibes, and honest breakdowns coming your way. Are you all caught up? Binge this so we can talk about it.
Night Agent -- Netflix
2023/05/10
If you like: Action Espionage Underdog Quirky Mystery You'll binge Night Agent
Swarm -Amazon Prime
2023/04/13
Quirky, a lil' gore, a thriller, part comedy, unapologetically based on true events, last episode kinda sucked but worth the binge. Enjoyed Atlanta on FX, then you will most likely like Swarm.
Ginny And Georgia -- Netflix
2023/03/03
If you like teen dramas/comedies that deals with social issues like wealth, race and other social issues, then binge this show!
New Amsterdam -- Netflix/Peacock
2023/02/28
I FINALLY added a medical drama! New Amsterdam has the first 4 seasons on Netflix (2023) and the last season on the Peacock app. It is definitely gonna take you a bit of time to get through all 5 seasons, but well worth it.
SexEd -- Netflix
2022/12/06
Sex Ed is a British comedy on Netflix starring Gillian Anderson.  A coming of age show with an akward kid figuring out sexuality with his classmates.
Behind Her Eyes --Netflix
2021/03/14
You will hear me say it, and I will say it again. This SHOW MIGHT PISS YOU OFF AT THE END. Still worth the watch so you can find someone else to share in your frustration.
Ratched -- Netflix
2020/10/09
If you like American Horror Story, then Ratched you will enjoy also since Ryan Murphy has his hands on it. Definitely can be binged in one day. It is a period show with some gore and a few uncomfortable storylines.
The 100 --CW -- Netflix
2020/10/09
If you want a show that may take you a while to binge, then watch The 100. 7 season total with 13-16 episodes at 45 minutes. If you like Science Fiction, Apocalypse, space travel type shows, then this is perfect!
Sing On --Netflix
2020/10/09
Okay, this is actually a musical reality competition. Quite different than what I usually suggest. If you like pop hits, singing along, and seeing bad singers voted off, then this show is for you! Thirty minutes per episode, so you can binge season one in one day.
See --AppleTV+
2020/09/20
Jason Mamoa and Alfre Woodard shine in this post-apocalyptic show where everyone is blind. You have to really pay attention to the first episode otherwise you may end up being confused and lost interest.
Truth Be Told -- AppleTV+
2020/09/19
If you like a murder mystery aka whodoneit aka did-he-really-do-it, starring the amazing Aaron Paul and Octavia Spencer, then Truth be Told is a great show that you can binge in one day or over the weekend.
Penny Dreadful: City of Angeles
2020/08/03
A Showtime series that is 10 episodes, approximately 55 minutes. Supernatural-esque, strong Latinx cast.
Warrior Nun -- Netflix
2020/07/27
This episode is slightly different than others because I have mixed feelings about this show. Tune in to see if this is the next binge-worthy show for you! Warrior Nun --Drama--runtime about 50minutes --10 episodes
