Cinephile No. 790 “Men in Black: International”
2026/07/28
Back in 2019, I published a review for “Men in Black: International.” Perplexed by the film’s existence, I didn’t think much of the review. Releasing it into the wild, I had no way of knowing it would become and remain one of my most popular reviews. Obsessing over my analytics once again, my review for this film has returned to the top ten. In honor of this review’s staying power, I thought we might revisit it here, together. I hope you enjoy.
Cinephile (15/15): 15 Movies That Changed My Life
2026/02/28
Hello friends and welcome to Natetheworld (ThePodcast). Here we celebrate the most popular essays, reviews, and poems on Natetheworld.com. As of this essay, I have watched 1,239 movies in a theater and thousands upon thousands more in the comfort of my home. In all those stories, I have spent time with 75 films that I deem perfect. This year, as my website, Natetheworld.com, celebrates its 15th anniversary, I gave myself the impossible task of ranking my favorite 15 films of all time.
After ranking, moving, rearranging, and debating the impact of 75 beloved films, this is my list as of today. Tomorrow, it is bound to look completely different. For this essay, instead of reviewing each film again, I want to take a different approach. I want to tell you why these 15 movies changed my life. I hope you enjoy it.

I wanted to mark this milestone with a wide ranging conversation focused on my innate desire to create, the future of creativity, and so much more. I hope you enjoy the conversation.
First Impressions of Olympic National Park

Today, we are continuing a series I launched on my website early this year called, “First Impressions.” If you joined us for our last episode, you know the series focused on my first-hand encounters with our national parks. Today’s essay focuses its attention on a national park in my own backyard, Olympic National Park.
First Impressions of Grand Canyon National Park
2025/03/07
Earlier this year, I launched a new series on mywebsite called, “First Impressions.” The series focuses on my firsthand encounters with our national parks. The series has had me in a reflective mood as I think back on parks I visited years ago. It also has me excited to continue visiting America’s best idea. Today’s essay focuses its attention on the first national park I ever visited, Grand Canyon National Park.

The Taco Bell Breakfast Menu
2023/03/13
Today’s episode is a fun one. Years ago, I was driving to work. Driving by a Taco Bell, I discovered the fast food chain was serving breakfast. This got me thinking about things I will never do, like, or understand. With a little time spent writing, the following essay was born. I hope you enjoy.

Our Lives Are But A Moment
2022/05/15
I have been thinking a lot about my mortality and legacy. As someone on the verge of 40 and in decent health, this may seem like an odd thought exercise, but for me it has felt necessary. The essay I am sharing today, “Our Lives Are But A Moment,” is a confrontation with those thoughts. I hope they will give you something to ponder over when considering your own life.
2020 & The Return
2022/03/16
As many of you know, in 2020, I returned to Seattle after three years of living in Los Angeles. Given the complexities of the pandemic, the transition has been anything but easy, which led me to write the essay I am sharing today. 2020 & The Return is an attempt to document my struggle. If you are going through something similar, I hope you can find comfort in the knowledge you are not alone.
