The Book of Acts Ends, The Mission Doesn't | Gabe George | Compassion Church Dickson
2026/10/27
We weren't just called to know about Jesus. We were called to KNOW Him, FOLLOW Him, and MAKE Him KNOWN.From the beginning of Acts to the very last chapter, we see one mission that never changes: sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But before Jesus ever sent His disciples out, He called them to be WITH Him. Because following Jesus isn't just about what we do for Him; it's about having a genuine relationship with Him.Our faith was never meant to stop with us. We are called to carry the Gospel into our homes, our communities, and to the ends of the earth. To tell the next generation about His faithfulness, to boldly share what He has done, and to live lives that reflect His Word.In this message, we're reminded that knowing Jesus changes how we live, obedience is evidence of our love for Him, and the power of the Holy Spirit equips us to be His witnesses. The book of Acts may end in chapter 28, but the mission of the Church continues through us today. The question is: Are we living like it?Scripture References: Acts 1:8 | John 14:23 | Matthew 7:21–23 | 1 John 3:2 | Mark 16:15 | Mark 3:13–15 | Mark 5:19 | Deuteronomy 6:6–7 | Exodus 10:2 | Psalm 78:3–4 | Acts 28:30–31 | James 4:7Join us at Compassion Church!📍 Visit Compassion Church3525 Highway 70 W. Hope Was Gone, God Wasn't
2026/10/20
I BELIEVE GOD | Acts 27:20–26 | Compassion ChurchWhat do you do when the storm won't stop, hope feels lost, and everything around you contradicts what God has promised? In Acts 27, Paul finds himself in the middle of a violent storm. For fourteen days, there was no sun, no stars, and seemingly no hope. But in the middle of the chaos, Paul stood with a declaration that changed everything: “I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.”In this powerful message, we're reminded that faith isn't the absence of storms. It's trusting God's Word even when our circumstances tell a different story. We'll discover how:- Faith speaks courage into the storm.- Faith takes God at His Word.- Faith trusts God even through the hard landing.Sometimes the shipwreck isn't the end of the promise. It's the very thing God uses to get you where He's called you to be.The storm can wreck the ship, but it cannot cancel the promise. No matter what you're facing today, remember this: HOPE MAY BE GONE. GOD'S NOT.Scripture: Acts 27:20–26, Joshua 1:9, Romans 4:20–21, Genesis 50:20Join us at Compassion Church!📍 Visit Compassion Church3525 Highway 70 W. A Vision Led Life | Compassion Church Dickson | Jamie Grisham
2026/10/13
God-Given Vision | Acts 26:16–19When God gives you a vision, your responsibility is to OBEY it.In Acts 26, Paul shares how one encounter with Jesus completely changed the direction of his life. What started on the road to Damascus became a calling that would lead him through opposition, suffering, and incredible opportunities to share the Gospel.A God-given vision will STOP you, SEND you, and STRETCH you. God's purpose for your life isn't just about where He's taking you, but about the people He wants to reach through you.In this powerful message, we're reminded that God's direction comes from knowing Him, obedience requires surrender, and setbacks don't cancel the calling. The question isn't just whether God has given you a vision. It's whether you're willing to obey it.📖 Scripture: Acts 26:16–19Join us at Compassion Church as we continue our journey through the book of Acts!📍 Visit Compassion Church3525 Highway 70 W. Gods Plan Will Prevail | Compassion Church Dickson | Pastor Beau Jenson
2026/09/30
What happens when life doesn’t go according to plan?In Acts 23:12–35, Paul finds himself at the center of a deadly plot, surrounded by circumstances completely outside of his control. But what looked like disruption, danger, and uncertainty couldn’t stop what God had already spoken. Our plans may fail, but God’s plans always prevail. In this message, we’re reminded that God can use anyone, anything, and even the circumstances we never would have chosen to accomplish His purpose. We’ll also look at the importance of testing our feelings against Scripture, allowing the Holy Spirit to correct us, and keeping the mission of sharing Jesus at the center of our lives.Your plans may change. The route may look different than you expected. But God is still working.📖 Scripture: Acts 23:12–35 🎙️ Message: God’s Plan Will PrevailIf this message encouraged you, share it with someone who needs the reminder that God is still in control.📍 Visit Compassion Church3525 Highway 70 W. Say It | Compassion Church Dickson | Jamie Grisham
2026/09/22
What if the thing obedience cost you became the very platform God used?In Acts 22, Paul stands beaten, chained, and surrounded by people who wanted him dead. But instead of defending himself, he asks for one thing: permission to speak. And when he gets the opportunity, he tells them what Jesus did in his life.Paul never forgot who he was before Jesus. He never got over the encounter that changed everything. And he understood that Jesus didn’t just save him, He sent him.Your testimony doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful. You are responsible for telling what you’ve seen, heard, and experienced. The response belongs to God.There is someone in your life who may never listen to a sermon or walk into a church, but they cannot argue with what Jesus has done in you.Acts 22 reminds us: You have a story. You have an assignment. So why are you waiting?📍 Visit Compassion Church3525 Highway 70 W. The Cost Of Obedience | Jamie Grisham | Compassion Church Dickson
2026/09/16
Following Jesus was never promised to be convenient. In Acts 21, Paul knows exactly what obedience could cost him. He is warned that chains and suffering are waiting for him in Jerusalem, yet his response is simple: “I am ready.”Marriage costs something. Parenting costs something. Calling costs something. And following Jesus requires us to surrender our comfort, preferences, plans, and sometimes even the things we desperately want to hold onto. But Jesus paid the ultimate price at the cross. Our obedience isn’t payment for His love, it’s our response to it.The question isn’t simply, “Do I know what following Jesus costs?” The question is, “Am I willing to obey Him when the cost becomes real?”What is obedience costing you right now?Acts 21:1–14📍 Visit Compassion Church3525 Highway 70 W. No Regrets | Jamie Grisham | Compassion Church
2026/09/08
If today were your last chance to speak into someone you love, what would you say?In Acts 20, Paul says goodbye to the Ephesian elders knowing that hardship is waiting for him. He doesn’t waste the moment. Instead, he reminds them what a life fully surrendered to Jesus looks like.Through Paul’s example, we discover four life lessons for faithful followers of Jesus: **hold nothing back, pay the cost, guard what you’ve been given, and give freely.**True faithfulness obeys before it sees, spends itself on the mission, and guards what God has entrusted to it.The question isn’t whether following Jesus will cost us something. The question is whether we believe He is worth the cost.📖 Acts 20:17–35📍 Visit Compassion Church3525 Highway 70 W. We were never called to live without supernatural power. In Acts 19, we see God move through extraordinary miracles, bringing healing, deliverance, freedom, and radical life change. But the same God who moved then is still moving today. In this message, we’re reminded that God doesn’t need us to be extraordinary, He needs us to be available. When we surrender what we have to Him, He can use it in ways far beyond what we could accomplish on our own.And while we celebrate healing, miracles, and deliverance, the greatest supernatural miracle is still a changed life. The God who was supernatural then is still supernatural now.📖 Acts 19:11–19Subscribe for more messages from Compassion Church and share this with someone who needs to be reminded that God is still moving.📍 Visit Compassion Church3525 Highway 70 W. Don't Quit: Acts 18 | Compassion Church Dickson | Tommy Hodges
2026/08/26
What if the closed door isn’t the end of the story? In Acts 18, Paul arrives in Corinth carrying the Gospel, but also weakness, fear, and weariness. He faces opposition and rejection, yet God meets him with provision, people, a new opportunity, and a powerful reminder:“Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; for I am with you… for I have many people in this city.” — Acts 18:9–10Sometimes God’s provision looks like a person. Sometimes rejection is actually redirection. And sometimes the miracle isn’t God changing your situation, it’s God giving you the strength to stay.Don’t quit because of what you can see right now. Keep praying. Keep inviting. Keep loving. Keep serving. Keep speaking. There are still people to reach. There are still prodigals to come home. There are still lives to be restored. And if there are still people, we still have a mission.
The Unknown God | Compassion Church Dickson | Jamie Grisham
2026/08/18
How do we reach a changing culture without changing the Gospel? In Acts 17, Paul steps into cities filled with different beliefs, philosophies, religions, opinions, and people searching for meaning. Instead of becoming angry at the culture around him, Paul is stirred by the people who are lost within it.Paul understood something the Church still needs today: the truth never changes, but the way we communicate that truth may.In Thessalonica, Paul reasoned from Scripture. In Athens, he began with something the people already understood, the altar to the “unknown god” and used it as a bridge to introduce them to Jesus. He changed his approach, but he never changed the Gospel. As followers of Jesus, we are called to stay close enough to culture to speak to it, but different enough from culture to have something to say.And ultimately, every bridge we build should lead somewhere. Paul began with the unknown god, but he ended with the resurrected Jesus.Because behind every idol, every search for meaning, and every attempt to fill the emptiness is a human heart searching for something only Jesus can satisfy. The goal isn't for people to simply know more about Jesus. We want them to KNOW HIM.📖 Scripture: Acts 17:1–29, 1 Corinthians 9:19–23, Matthew 9:36In this message: How we see people changes how we respond to themBuilding bridges without compromising truthCommunicating an unchanging Gospel to a changing cultureRecognizing what people are truly searching forMoving people from knowing about Jesus to actually knowing Him
When God Says, "No." | Compassion Church Dickson | Jamie Grisham
2026/08/10
What do you do when God says “no”?We love celebrating open doors, answered prayers, and new opportunities, but sometimes God’s greatest “yes” is hidden inside a closed door.In Acts 16, Paul was doing something good. He was ready to preach the Gospel, yet the Holy Spirit stopped him, not once, but twice. Paul didn’t argue, negotiate, or force the door open. He simply kept walking. What looked like rejection was actually redirection toward a greater assignment. That redirection led Paul to Macedonia, where Lydia encountered Jesus, a slave girl was set free, and a prison became the setting for chains to fall and an entire household to experience salvation. What began with two closed doors ultimately impacted generations.Maybe you’re standing in front of a closed door right now. You’ve prayed, fasted, believed, and still haven’t received the answer you wanted. Don’t assume God’s “no” means He is absent. His “no” may be His guidance, protection, and preparation for something greater than you can see.Sometimes our greatest act of faith isn’t asking God to open another door, it’s trusting Him enough to thank Him for the one He closed.📍 Visit Compassion Church3525 Highway 70 W. Grace Alone | Compassion Church Dickson | Jamie Grisham
2026/08/06
In Acts 15, the early church faces one of its first major doctrinal conflicts: Is faith in Jesus enough for salvation, or does something need to be added? As Paul and Barnabas confront the teaching that Gentile believers must follow the Law of Moses to be saved, the church is forced to settle a foundational truth of the Gospel: Jesus + nothing = salvation. In this message, we unpack three important truths from Acts 15:• Don’t add to what Jesus finished. Salvation cannot be earned through church attendance, baptism, generosity, serving, good behavior, or religious works. These things are the fruit of salvation—not the foundation of it.• Remove unnecessary barriers. The Gospel calls us to repentance, holiness, obedience, and lordship, but we should never create religious requirements that Jesus never required.• Have a faith that produces. We are saved by grace through faith, not by works—but genuine faith transforms us and produces obedience.Religion says, “DO.”Jesus says, “DONE.”The law exposes our sin, but only the grace of Jesus can transform our hearts. The question Acts 15 forces us to answer is one that still matters today: **Is what Jesus did on the cross enough?**The answer is yes. Grace alone saves.📍 Visit Compassion Church3525 Highway 70 W. The Gospel Will Always Face Opposition | Acts 14What happens when following Jesus gets difficult? In Acts 14, Paul and Barnabas remind us that opposition isn't always a sign you're off track, it can actually be evidence that you're walking in God's purpose. This week, we'll discover how the enemy works to deceive, divide, and discourage, while learning how God calls His people to respond with boldness, discernment, wisdom, and unwavering faith. From false teaching to fierce persecution, the early church never stopped proclaiming the Gospel, and neither should we.Join us as we unpack what it means to stand firm in the truth, recognize deception, endure hardship, and continue the mission God has given us. Following Jesus has never been the easy path, but it has always been the path worth taking. We all have a decision to make: Will we compromise when opposition comes, or will we remain faithful to Christ until the end?📍 Visit Compassion Church3525 Highway 70 W. Set Apart | Jamie Grisham | Compassion Church Dickson
2026/07/23
Are you waiting on God, wondering if He still has a purpose for your life?In Acts 13, we see Barnabas and Saul set apart, not by chance, but by the voice of the Holy Spirit. They weren't randomly chosen. They were handpicked by God for a specific assignment. The same is true today. God is still calling ordinary people to do extraordinary things for His Kingdom. In this message, discover how God speaks through worship, prayer, and fasting, why waiting is never wasted, and how staying focused on Jesus prepares you for the purpose He has already planned for your life.If you've ever questioned God's timing, felt overlooked, or wondered if He could use you, this message is for you.In this message:• God's call is personal—you are handpicked for a purpose.• Intimacy with God always comes before assignment.• Waiting is preparation, not punishment.• Your unseen faithfulness is shaping your future.• Don't let the world's noise distract you from God's voice.• Stay focused on Jesus, not the approval of the crowd.Key Scriptures:Acts 13:1–45Isaiah 6:8Psalm 46:10John 10:27Psalm 27:14Isaiah 40:31John 15:19No matter where you are in your journey, remember this: God has not forgotten you. Your waiting is working. Your purpose is still alive. Keep worshiping. Keep praying. Keep listening. The Holy Spirit is still calling people to be set apart for His work.If this message encouraged you, be sure to like this video, subscribe to the channel, and share it with someone who needs to be reminded that they have been handpicked by God.
A Prison Tipped Arrow: Acts 12 | Chad Large | Compassion Church

Peace Under Pressure | Acts 12How do you find peace when the pressure feels impossible? In Acts 12, Peter is sitting in prison, chained between soldiers, awaiting what seems like certain death. Yet instead of panicking, he sleeps peacefully. Why? Because Peter had planted God's Word so deeply in his heart that it produced peace when pressure came.In this message, we'll discover that the enemy's goal is to steal what God has planted in you, but when you guard His Word, His Word begins to guard you. The peace you long for isn't found in escaping pressure—it's found in trusting the One who is with you in the middle of it.We'll also see that God's answers often come through simple acts of obedience, that His deliverance doesn't always happen the way we expect, and that every trial you face has the potential to become a testimony that advances His Kingdom.Scripture References:• Acts 12:1–24• Mark 4:14–40• Isaiah 26:3• Isaiah 49:2• Revelation 12:11• 2 Corinthians 4:16–17No matter what you're facing today, remember this: You are an arrow in God's quiver. The pressure isn't pointless—God can use it to sharpen your testimony, strengthen your faith, and bring glory to His name.If this message encouraged you, be sure to like, subscribe, and share it with someone who needs hope today.
