Black On Both Sides Episode #142 I am fresh off of a Jamaican vacation. Kunta's favorite getaway is Jamaica, but I didn't get the same vibes. On this trip I had an epiphany of all inclusive resorts. Kunta spent the weekend inebriate adjacent and still managed to pull off a headache. He defeated this with his Sunday brunch of items that would normally contribute to a heart attack all on their own being grouped together in a Frankenstein' Burger. Justice Brown was accepted and is most likely the most qualified justice of all time. This didn't sway the Republicans from not supporting her. One after one they spoke of her greatness and qualifications just before they mentioned that they would not be supporting her. Black On Both Sides Episode #138 Kunta has done the unthinkable. He has put down his breaded chicken favorite for the plant based Beyond Chicken. Not really because who in the world that would eat a fried meat would care that it is meat? No one. My advice is that you have to enjoy some things in life and chicken should be one of them. I almost forgot it was Black History Month. and we need to celebrate by shouting out someone who starred in one of the greatest black movies of all time...The Color Purple. Whoopi got no support from her people when she made a statement that the powers that be deemed inappropriate. Which is it? Believe all women or I'm rooting for everybody black? Neither I guess. Is her career over? Finally there is talk in the NFL of games being thrown to the price of 100k per game. Brian Flores is using this outrage to propel his agenda to get more people of color into leadership jobs. The good old boys in the front offices are not happy. Black On Both Sides Episode #137 Kunta needed a “Me” day and decided to take it on the southwest side of LA. Compton, Crenshaw, Little Ethiopia, etc. The Marathon Store was looking more like a swap meet, so he decided to get some soul food. Nothing like some Turkey and Mac ‘n’ Cheese to reset the soul. Kunta is well on his way to being a better version of himself. You can even hear it in his voice. His self help books and new wake-up regimen has show results. Kunta wants to let the world know. I, on the other hand, do not subscribe to letting the gurus in to my brain to assist in my “Self” improvement. Self-help is for nothing if you don’t come prepared to finish the race. There may not be everything you need along the way. If all else fails, stick to the motto “Always bring your own juice”. Black On Both Sides Episode #135 Thanksgiving has passed and Kunta went to someone else’s house for the event. Where was the mac n cheese? I also went to an in-law’s house and Kunta is offended for them that I didn’t eat. I do not eat at other people’s houses. Please don’t be offended. And please do still invite me. I want to be there and break bread with you and your family. However, I don’t want to eat the bread. Kunta reports back on his 5 am Club findings. Is this arbitrary number really responsible for the titans of business? Can you force yourself to get up at 5 am everyday? Kyle Rittnehouse getting off with no charges had Black America on edge that the Arbery trial was not going to go the way of justice. Much to everyone’s surprise the defendants were convicted on all counts. The country takes a loud and intentional exhale. Whether or not you are part of the crypto gang doesn’t mean that crypto isn’t happening all around you. If you have not invested a penny into crypto, you aren’t alone. It does, however, mean that you are behind when it comes to what will inevitably be the future of money. Maybe Bitcoin is not the future. But something like Bitcoin will be. Black On Both Sides Episode #134 Kunta takes his opportunity to drag me over the Cowboys v Falcons matchup. True fans do not bail on their team when they are in the dumps. Atlanta fans have gotten used to the inconsistencies of our teams. So there will be no bailing. But let's all think back to when "Them Boys" were not so good and Kunta didn't even want to say their names on this podcast. Kunta is on a journey to find daily balance. He plans to wake up early and sort his day before most of us are even considering hitting snooze. How do you feel about all of the VIPs of the world having a strict up at 5 am method to life? Is this what is necessary to become highly successful? Two trials are currently in session. The Arbury murder trial and the Rittnehouse trial. I believe these are both open and shut cases and it shouldn't require much to end them. Kunta disagrees. I have been missing all of the coverage due to tuning out most of the news, but it seems as though we are going to need to address this on a future show. I can't remember a time when two high level trials were going on at the same time. But leave it to our resident comic book junkie to tell us that Life, Justice, and America…or something like that is the motto. Well, all of that is changing. Why?
