Yep, we had a crack at a few beers you can only find at everyone's favourite German supermarket - Aldi! In this episode of Aussie Beer Explorers, we line up three cracking Aussie brews and put them head-to-head  First up is Little Bang Brewing Co.’s Dave Likes XPA Vol. 3 — a fresh, easy-drinking Extra Pale Ale with bright tropical hop character and a smooth finish. A proper session beer with plenty of personality. Next, we crack into Holgate Brewhouse Drives Me Hazy Hazy Pale — juicy, soft, and packed with haze-driven flavour. Expect citrus, stone fruit, and that full-bodied mouthfeel hazy lovers chase. Rounding out the lineup is Co-Conspirators Matriarch New England IPA — bold, expressive, and hop-forward with plenty of juicy punch. A modern NEIPA with attitude and a strong finish. And make sure you listen right to the end to find out how Dave’s homebrewed Matriarch clone stacked up against the commercial version — did the clone hold its own, or did the original still reign supreme? https://www.instagram.com/aussiebeerexplorers/ https://www.facebook.com/aussiebeerexplorers/ Hosted on Acast. This was a long time coming but we finally got there! We were sent a few alcoholic Ginger Beers from Diablo Co in Gilldora Queensland, thanks guys!! Just a correction - while publishing this episode we discovered that as well as being sold all over QLD, Diablo Co's drinks are stocked in a ton of places around Melbourne! Well we did say episodes wouldn't be coming out quite as regular as they used to be...10 weeks between eps was a bit longer than we'd planned! We're doing our own countdown of the top 3 beers from this year's GABS hottest 100. Plus there is a bonus beer towards the end, you'll have to listen through to hear what that is! Or you could just read the notes below...I wonder how many people actually read the show notes?...if you do, why not say g'day! We're back!!! After four long years away, we've returned to the shed to try some more beers, this time from Jervis bay Brewing Co. It's great to be back, talking beer - and heaps of other stuff! This one covers a fair bit of ground - let's face it there's four years to catch up on! In amongst all the rambling, we did get to try a few Jervis bay Brewing Co special release beers: Twisted Hazy IPADisco Hazy IPAAround the World West Coast IPABlood Orange IPA Thanks to those that have kept following us for the last 4 years, and if this is your first episode, welcome! Well it's our last episode for 2021...but could this be Aussie beer Explorer's last episode ever??? Nothing's set in stone yet, but what we do know is that after this ep we'll definitely be taking a break for a while. Thanks to everyone who's listened to us rabbit on for the last three and a half years, hopefully we gave you something fun to do while some of you were in lockdown at various times throughout the pandemic...it's crazy to think that for over half the time we've been gasbagging about beers has been during these "unprecedented times". And a huge thanks to Hops To Home, who've been sending us a few extra beers to talk about each month. We've enjoyed trying beers we wouldn't have grabbed off the shelves ourselves, and as a result we've definitely broadened our horizons!  So for the final episode for 2021, Hops To Home sent us another 5 awesome beers to finish on:Gin Barrel Gose - Hargreaves Hill Brewing Company http://hargreaveshill.com.au/Pale Ale - Fields Brewing Co https://fieldsbrewing.co/Strongarm Export Pilsner - Hop Nation https://hopnation.com.au/ORB & The Gang NEIPA - Ocean Reach Brewery http://oceanreach.beer/Enter The Dragon Dragonfruit & Passionfruit Hazy IPA - Bonehead Brewing Co https://www.boneheadbrewing.com.au/Remember to stay subscribed so you'll know if/when we do anything next, and keep in touch on our socials...we'll probably still occasionally post stuff, there's still plenty left to explore out there...    Cheers, Dave and Dave.  instagram.com/aussiebeerexplorers facebook.com/aussiebeerexplorers [email protected] aussiebeerexplorers.com Hosted on Acast. What a controversial episode this is...first of all, all these beers are 0.5% ABV. Yep you read that right, we've done a couple of mini-eps before, but this is our first ever full length low-alcohol episode! But as we talk about in this episode, this segment of the market is booming, so we thought we'd better jump on the bandwagon too... Another big topic in this ep is that this is the second last episode of Aussie Beer Explorers!!! Maybe not forever, we're not sure yet, but at least for a little while we'll be giving your ears a rest. But feel free to stay subscribed, that way you'll be the first to hear if/when we decide to get going again. So for our penultimate episode we had a go at 8 low-alcohol beers from around the country...and as a special treat for our long-time listeners we even brought back our favourite segment - bogan vs boutique! (Let's face it, Carlton Zero never stood a chance!). Tropical XPA - Nort Beer https://nort.beer/Sidewinder XPA Deluxe - Brick Lane https://bricklanebrewing.com/Mind Your Head Non-alc XPA - Hop Nation https://hopnation.com.au/Mornington Free Non-alc Pale Ale - Mornington Peninsula Brewery https://mpbrew.com.au/Quiet XPA - Heaps Normal https://heapsnormal.com/Free Time Alcohol Free Pale Ale - Bridge Road Brewers https://bridgeroadbrewers.com.au/New World IPA - UpFlow Brewing https://www.upflowbrewing.com.au/Poolside DDH IPA - Big Drop Brewing Co https://au.bigdropbrew.com/ instagram.com/aussiebeerexplorers facebook.com/aussiebeerexplorers twitter.com/Ozbeerexplorers [email protected] aussiebeerexplorers.com Hosted on Acast. Summer's finally here!! And along with it, good old Aussie Post brought us an early Chrissy present...3 beers from Aether Brewing's Summer of Sour release. Dave had the chance to visit Cornella Brewery in between a couple of Melbourne's lockdowns a few months ago, and what an awesome looking venue it is! Right near Colbinabbin in central Victoria, it shares the grounds with The Shiraz Republic, there's a stage for entertainment, plus great looking onsite cabins overlooking the vineyard. There was no punters around at the time due to ongoing restrictions, but he was able to grab a few beers, and we finally got stuck into them: Spiny Rush Tropical XPAWinebeer Shiraz SourTinto de Verano Shiraz & Lemon SpritzerHazy Bale Hazy XPAHappy Birthday To You Hazy IPAAfter Glow AmberCitranella DDH IPAhttps://cornellabrewery.com.au/   instagram.com/aussiebeerexplorers facebook.com/aussiebeerexplorers twitter.com/Ozbeerexplorers [email protected] aussiebeerexplorers.com   Hosted on Acast. How good is this? Little Creatures sent us a couple of beers to try that we haven't had a crack at in the show yet - two of our old favourites, plus two BRAND NEW BEERS!  Little Creatures is celebrating 21 year of craft brewing with the release of a Pacific Ale and Hazy IPA, which were both released in August. Also another surprise - for their 21st birthday, Little Creatures’ signature Pale Ale and XPA was released in cans! Have a listen, as you can probably tell we're excited...  Hazy IPAPale AleXPAPacific Alehttps://littlecreatures.com.au/   instagram.com/aussiebeerexplorers facebook.com/aussiebeerexplorers twitter.com/Ozbeerexplorers [email protected] aussiebeerexplorers.com Hosted on Acast.
