Resources mentioned: Framer Willow Granola Joy "The most important relationship you'll ever have is with yourself. More than your investors, your partners, even your co-founders — it starts there." In this episode, Betsy Fore shares her remarkable journey from first-generation college graduate and toy inventor to serial founder, venture capitalist, and nonprofit leader — all driven by an unwavering belief in the power of "why not me?" As the founder of Tiny Organics, which generated over $13 million in revenue in its first 24 months, and now managing partner of Velveteen Ventures, Betsy has built, scaled, and fundraised across multiple industries while breaking barriers as the first Native American woman to raise a Series A round. But her story doesn't stop there. Betsy opens up about the burnout that forced her to do the inner work, the mindset practices that rewired how she leads, and the Indigenous values of reciprocity and humility that have quietly shaped every business decision she's ever made. From pitching in front of the co-founder of Square to launching a nonprofit community for Native technologists and founders, she reveals what it really takes to stay in the ring — and why the founder who succeeds is often the one who simply refused to quit. How Tisha Thompson Launched the First Black-Owned Clean Makeup Brand at Sephora
2026/04/06
“There's a lot of things that come with being able to support a retailer like that… If you're not ready for those things, then go DTC first because you also have to have: Is your product merchandisable? Do you have unit cartons? Do you have UPCs?  All of these kinds of operational tactical things that you can really kind of speak to, but high-level it's like, ‘Do you have enough money?’ It would be my very first question.” In this episode of Entreprenista, we sat down with Tisha Thompson, founder and CEO of LYS Beauty, a brand conceptualized with skin-loving formulas that redefine the definition of beauty. LYS is the first Black-owned Sephora clean makeup brand, created to fill a void in the market for clean, high-performance makeup that serves all skin tones. Drawing on her 18-year career in beauty, Tisha is dedicated to offering products that not only enhance natural beauty but also promote skin health, embodying her commitment to empowering individuals to feel confident and beautiful inside and out. Tune in to hear how Tisha’s passion for makeup and beauty stems from her love of transformation, why representation is so important, and how she has managed to keep LYS self-funded.  We talked about:  Tisha started her career in beauty with a makeup artist side hustle (04:46) Knowing when the time is right to start a business (11:36) The process of pitching to Sephora (19:09) Best practices for promoting a brand (32:29) Using project management software (35:32) Connect with Tisha: Instagram LYS Beauty LYS on Instagram Are you ready to make meaningful business connections that lead to real business results?    Join our Entreprenista League community of women founders at entreprenista.com/join! Tracy Litt, The School of Becoming: Why founders grow faster in the room
2026/01/26
“The mind is the most untrustworthy part of your entire being. You can't afford to listen to your mind. In this moment, because it's trying to talk you out of something, I could expand you, that might feel a little unfamiliar. There could be a whole bunch of reasons, but none of those are aligned with who you're becoming and what you're creating.” In this powerful episode of the Entreprenista Podcast, we’re joined by transformation coach, speaker, and founder Tracy Litt for a conversation that goes far beyond business strategy. Together, we dive into what it really takes to sustain success as a founder—mental resilience, self-trust, alignment, and the relationships that carry you forward. Tracy shares why the mind is often the most untrustworthy part of our being, how to recognize when you’re building from pressure instead of alignment, and what it means to step into your next-level self before the results show up. We also unpack why in-person connection is irreplaceable, how collaboration has officially replaced competition, and why no founder is meant to build alone. You’ll also get an inside look at Entreprenista’s Founders Weekend Retreat—a wealth and wellness experience designed to support your mind, body, business, and soul. From powerhouse speakers and real-time integration to deep relationship building and nervous-system regulation, this is the room where expansion happens. What we talked about:Founder’s Weekend!
