Cousin Wolf is the indie-folk music project of Matt Halvorson, a musician, writer and infielder living with his family in the woods north of Seattle. He is sharing a new song on the first of every month again this year, and his song for today is called “If I Die in Minneapolis.” The frontline of the fight against racism and fascist oppression is in Minnesota, of all places. We stand in solidarity with the people of Minnesota, and with all immigrants and all people struggling under a fat cat’s boot. As a piece of trivia, ETP in this song stands for Energy. j.gano Thin of hair but flush of beard, j gano is a perpetual dabbler who puts his thoughts to guitar while the kids are in bed. He writes songs about the mystery of existence, friendship, the experience of time, and fatherhood - particularly as it relates to those things. He likes good oolong in a gong fu pot, morels and porcinis, spiders and bugs.

Joey Colando is a Chicago-based musician, songwriter, and founding member of the band Estate Sale. Known for his warm vocals, expressive guitar work, and introspective songwriting, Joey blends Americana, indie, and folk influences into a sound that feels both familiar and forward-thinking.

“Make Space for a Dream” is a song written by Josh Jensen and featuring Adela’s who is also a contributor to the Rise Up Music Project. This song was written on a 12-string acoustic guitar in open tuning and features Adela’s cello, some light keys, and vocal harmonies. The song is intended to uplift the listener, despite trying times, and is about making space for a dream despite the bustle of life. Josh Jensen is a singer-songwriter from Seattle, WA. His honeyed vocals and fingerstyle guitar accompany a wide range of what he dubs as PNW Americana stylings that make up his music. Josh released two albums in 2025: 'This Is Where We Landed' was released in March through Washingtones Records and 'Eclectic Mementos EP' was released in August through Non-Minutiae Records.

Sam Sloane is an artist from Ōtautahi, Aoteroa (Christchurch, New Zealand) After leaving the South Pacific, Sam traveled to the US and settled in the Bay Area where he formed experimental post punk band, VIR. Heading further north he relocated to the Pacific Northwest in 2015 and endeavored on a new project, The NorthShip.
