Hey everyone! Wow, a whole year since you’ve heard from us. We’ve been working hard on what’s next for the BCD. But we still wanted to bring back an old favorite and get together for our annual Oscars discussion! Let us know who you wanted to win!

Hey there, Cassettes! We know it's been a while since you've heard from us since we stopped releasing regular episodes in December. While we've been working on a series finale for our podcast, we thought it would be fun to honor our tradition of watching and reacting to The Oscars. We hope you enjoyed this year's ceremony!

Hey there, Cassettes! It's Christmastime once again, and we're celebrating a little differently this year. Since we're winding down the show as we get ready for our final episode, we thought it would be fun to re-create the first episode we ever published here for you: The Case of A Christmas Carol(s)!

Hey there Cassettes! As October continues, we thought it would be fun to revisit some of the the wacky and unforgettable Halloween TV specials from our youth. In this episode, we talked about The Halloween That Almost Wasn't (1979), Halloween is Grinch Night (1977), and The Last Halloween (1991).  What were some of your favorite Halloween specials from your childhood?

Hey there, Cassettes! This week we honored our favorite Halloween tradition and gathered around a fire to tell spooky stories! This has been the most fun part of the Halloween season for the last few years. We hope you enjoy getting a little spooky with us!

Hey there Cassettes, and welcome back to the BOO Case Diaries! Hey there, Cassettes! August is here, which can only mean one thing: more episodes of the BCD!! This week, we decided to take a look at one of the most famous comedy teams in history: The Three Stooges.  We returned to our roots this week by having on a guest that hasn't been on our show since season 1: Robin's dad (Bob)! He was kind enough to share his love of the stooges with us, so please join us!

Hey there, Cassettes! We're back with another episode about a beloved musical! This week, we dove deep into the history of Mary Poppins, the classic live-action Disney film that continues to win the hearts of movie fans sixty years after its release.  Check out our website for show notes and sources!

Hey there, Cassettes! As we continue with June Tunes, we thought we might do a short episode on a classic made-for-TV musical from 1989: Polly! This film was an episode of The Magical World of Disney and it truly made a lasting impression on fans, despite the fact that Disney has not made it readily available. It's a musical adaptation of the novel Pollyanna and is set in Alabama in 1955.  Here is a link to the film on YouTube if you'd like to give it a watch!!

Hey there, Cassettes! We're back to bring you the second part to last week's episode on Chicago (2002)! In this episode, we broke down the principal actors, the musical numbers, and the film's reception.  For show notes and sources, head to: https://www.blackcasediaries.com/season-9

Come on, Cassettes, why don't we paint the town? This week, we're releasing part 1 of our two-part episode on Chicago, the Oscar-winning movie musical from 2002! Based on a 1926 play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, Chicago is an endlessly entertaining satire that highlights the problem with celebrity worship and corruption in the criminal justice system. It’s packed with musical numbers inspired by vaudeville and the music of the jazz age, performed by an incredibly talented cast that seemed to fit their roles like a glove.  This episode focuses on the real-life history behind the play that became a musical, that eventually became a hit film!

Hey there, Cassettes! Like all good things, Animation April must come to an end. But before we close the case on this month, we have one last episode for you.  This week, we decided to look into the history of women in animation. Over the past five years, we have done so many episodes about animation. But after a while we noticed that we hardly ever heard about the female pioneers of the medium. After a little research, we discovered that women have been part of animation from the very beginning, and we wanted to tell some of their stories.  As always, thanks for listening to our little show. It means a lot that you're willing to spend your time hanging out with us. Make sure to check out our website https://www.blackcasediaries.com/ for more info about this episode or any other that we have released.  Thanks!

Hey there, Cassettes! How is this Animation April treating you? This week, we strayed from our regularly scheduled programming to have a short discussion about animated remakes. What we mean is, we thought of a list of live-action films that we think would benefit from an animated remake!  What films would be on your list? Let us know on Instagram @blackcasediariespodcast!

Hey there, Cassettes! We're continuing Animation April with a biography episode on Don Bluth! Throughout the 80s and 90s, Don Bluth led the animation studio behind classics like The Land Before Time and All Dogs go to Heaven. This week, we took a look into his life and career!
