Brian and Teri Stibb - Green Lake County Century Farm
2026/10/02
The Brian and Teri Stibb family farm -- near Princeton in Green Lake County -- has been part of the local agricultural community for more than 130 years. In 1893, the family purchased 60 acres of land. Early generations raised dairy cattle, pigs and poultry, while also growing crops such as rye, oats, corn and navy beans. Over the years, the farm became a hub of activity for the Princeton area. Brian Stibb’s grandfather was known as a jack of all trades, doing everything from threshing and corn shredding to baling and combining for neighbors. The family also grew cucumbers, watermelons and muskmelons, selling produce at farm auctions. Today, Brian and his wife are carrying that history forward. Their son is the fifth generation and has taken over the crop operation while continuing to work with antique tractors and farm equipment. The family is active in tractor pulling. They tell Pam Jahnke how the farm remains a story of German roots, changing technology, community agriculture, and five generations working to keep a Wisconsin farm tradition alive. Rain will drift in today across Wisconsin and bring lower temperatures overnight.  Stu Muck says you may need a slicker at World Dairy Expo today. That wet, overcast weather is slowing Wisconsin's harvest.  With just 4% of the states corn harvested and 5% of the soybeans combined, we're lagging behind.  Andy Grebner, district sales representative for Wyffels Hybrids in Dane and Green County says it's time to monitor stalk quality and prioritize field harvesting.  Paid for by Wyffels Hybrids.Dane county is proposing nearly $200 million in improvements to the Alliant Energy Center grounds.  Home of World Dairy Expo and other major ag events like Midwest Horse Fair.  Dane Co. Watch Stalk Quality While You Wait - Andy Grebner
2026/09/29
It appears that Wisconsin's corn crop is going to need some more warm, dry weather to get closer to the harvest.  Andy Grebner, district sales representative for Wyffels covering Dane and Green counties says that things are still wet. Couple that wet cob condition with weak stalks, and we could be facing some additional harvest challenges.  Grebner says with the humidity this spring, coupled with the exceptionally dry weather in the summer, plants are degrading quickly.  Managing which fields need to be harvested first is something each grower should be evaluating.
