Not All Men… But There Were 7–57 of ’Em
2026/09/30
** Last episode, somebody said we hate men. We heard you. We reflected. We grew. And then we recorded this episode. This week, Goodie and Shantel get into Remy Ma’s Why I Get Married, revisit the iconic A Great Day in Hip-Hop, and unpack Jay-Z’s most vulnerable moments in Jay-Z in 8. From marriage and father wounds to accountability, character, and the difference between a nice guy and a genuinely good man, the conversation goes exactly where you think it does. There’s also an unsolicited intervention for people wasting precious resources making AI nostalgia videos, and an after-the-credits Colin Kaepernick rant nobody planned. For the record, we do not hate men. Not all men… but there were 7–57 of ’em.
The Culture….. Who The F@*k Is We?
2026/09/23
This week on Termagant Talk, Goodie and Shantel are asking a question that keeps getting louder every time somebody invokes “the culture”: who the f**k is we? From the way Blackness, hip-hop and collective loyalty get used to defend individual opinions, they unpack who actually gets to speak for everybody. Then they get into Kim Osorio’s federal case and the dangers of doing entirely too much for OPP: Other People’s Person, break down the first two episodes of Jay-Z in 8 and whether Rick Rubin is digging deep enough, and take a hard look at Colin Kaepernick’s ongoing issues with Jay-Z, the NFL, Target and the stories we tell about betrayal. Plus, Goodie recaps her Power Your Pivot panel and Sistas in Sales experience. Funny, argumentative, reflective and very New York, this episode asks whether “the culture” is really a shared set of values or just a convenient place to hide an individual opinion.
N***a What.....N***A WHO?
2026/09/15
Who gets to say it? Who gets to decide? And does being part of the culture make you part of the community? This week on Termagant Talk, Fat Joe’s response to Marc Lamont Hill sends Goodie and Shantel down a very New York rabbit hole about race, culture, proximity, identity and the most complicated word in the English language. Somewhere between “my n***a,” “that n***a,” “a n***a” and “n***a, please,” we realize we don’t even completely agree on what the word means, never mind who gets to use it. Plus, we get into Vic Mensa and male vulnerability, Nas and pretty privilege, new music, and the usual foolishness. N***a What... N***A WHO? #TermagantTalk #HipHopPodcast #HipHopCulture #FatJoe #MarcLamontHill #BlackCulture #NYCHipHop
Quality Penis, Questionable Character.
2026/08/26
This week on Termagant Talk, Goodie and Shantel recap Joe and Donell Jones’ Verzuz—from Donell’s vocal struggles and Joe’s victory to an unforgettable Cancun performance that followed a literal bullfight. They also celebrate Lil’ Kim bringing Hard Core to Brooklyn with a live orchestra and begin planning their formal night with the Queen Bee. Then the conversation turns to Joey Bada$$ and Serayah’s very public breakup: cheating allegations, one-sided “polyamory,” why women protect men’s reputations at their own expense, and whether quality penis can distract us from deeply questionable character. The ladies also examine Raekwon’s Palantir visit, celebrity proximity to power, Five Percenter ideology, spiritual evolution, and why Black capitalism will not save a community without accountability. Plus: would they attend the Rock the Bells festival—or spend five days trapped on a hip-hop cruise? #TermagantTalk #HipHopPodcast #JoeyBadass #Serayah #Joe #DonellJones #LilKim #Raekwon #Palantir #RockTheBells #BlackWomenPodcast #HipHopCulture
Is The D*ck So-So or What?
2026/08/19
This week on Termagant Talk, Goodie and Shantel are all over the cultural map, exactly where they belong. They kick things off doubling down on why LL Cool J is NOT the most important rapper of all time, then talk Jadakiss and The LOX, the lost art of reading out loud, Gen X childhood survival skills, and somehow end up debating whether Fast & Furious deserves a place among the greatest movie franchises ever. Then things get spicy. Remy Ma has bars for Clarissa Shields, and the ladies unpack the Papoose of it all, from relationships and public embarrassment to why a world-class athlete should never let a man become the center of her story. They also get into Joe Budden, Biggie's estate, and finally stumble into their next mission: Nas vs. Biggie, everything through 1997. Illmatic. It Was Written. Ready to Die. Life After Death. Features, flows, storytelling, humor, writing, impact. They're doing the knowledge. Because apparently even hip-hop debates have divine timing. #TermagantTalk #HipHop #RemyMa #ClarissaShields #Papoose #Nas #Biggie #Jadakiss #TheLOX #LLCoolJ #HipHopCulture #WomenInHipHop
We're Still In The Time
2026/08/12
This week on Termagant Talk, Goodie and Shantel celebrate 53 years of hip hop by taking a journey through the culture that shaped them. From their earliest memories of Rapper's Delight, Hot Tracks, and Soul Train to the Golden Era, the shiny suit era, and today's resurgence of lyrical hip hop, they reflect on the music, artists, and moments that defined generations. The conversation explores the evolution of hip hop, the rise of adult contemporary rap, the importance of preserving the culture through documentaries and new art forms, and why women have always been an essential part of hip hop's story. They also tackle LL Cool J's claim that he's the most important rapper of all time, sparking a passionate debate about legacy, influence, and whether it's even possible to crown the greatest while we're still in the time. Join us for another unfiltered conversation where hip hop is more than music. It's history, culture, and community. #TermagantTalk #HipHop53 #HipHopPodcast #GoldenEra #LLCoolJ #Nas #KRSOne #RunDMC #HipHopCulture #BlackCulture #Podcast
Bring Back the Lover Boys
2026/08/05
This week on Termagant Talk, Goodie and Shantel celebrate a New York summer that's giving main character energy. From LeBron's rumored New York move and Carmelo Anthony's next chapter to Cardi B's latest snippet, they unpack the headlines through a distinctly New York lens. The conversation shifts to hip hop politics as they break down the 38 Spesh vs. Jadakiss situation, debate rap etiquette, discuss Jim Jones, masculinity, and whether hospitality has disappeared from the culture. They also revisit the era of Bobby Brown, LL Cool J, Chuckii Booker, and the kind of lover-boy energy today's artists seem to be missing. To close things out, they preview Netflix's Love Is Blind: New York, recommend Jadakiss' Two Jews & Two Black Dudes Review the Movies, and ask the question that matters most: What happened to New York romance? Join us for another unfiltered conversation where hip hop is more than music. It's history, culture, and community. #TermagantTalk #HipHopPodcast #NewYorkCulture #Jadakiss #CardiB #JimJones #LoveIsBlind #LLCoolJ #BobbyBrown #ChuckiiBooker #BlackCulture #Podcast

This week on Termagant Talk, Goodie and Shantel recap their unforgettable weekend at Jay-Z's Yankee Stadium concerts, comparing Friday and Sunday's shows, reliving the surprise appearances from Beyoncé, Rihanna, Usher, Memphis Bleek, The Clipse, Teyana Taylor, and more, and discussing why Jay-Z continues to raise the bar for live hip hop. The conversation goes beyond the concert as they debate Reasonable Doubt vs. The Blueprint, the legacies of Jay-Z, Nas, Memphis Bleek, Max B, Jim Jones, Dame Dash, Kevin Hart, and the evolution of hip hop, leadership, and Black culture. Jay-Z Returns to the Stage | Roots Picnic, State Property Reunion & Black Music Month
2026/06/03
This week on Termagant Talk, Goodie and Shantel celebrate Black Music Month by discussing the songs they'd use to introduce someone to Black music and the records they definitely had no business listening to as kids. They also break down Jay-Z's highly anticipated return to the stage at Roots Picnic, his first major performance since 2019. From the opening freestyle and State Property reunion to Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Jazmine Sullivan, Bilal, and the future Shawn Carter concerts, the ladies share their highlights, reactions, and predictions. Plus, the viral Not Tonight Challenge has Lil' Kim back on the charts nearly 30 years after the song's release, and Shantel revisits the legendary LOX vs. Dipset Verzuz battle. Hip hop history, culture, nostalgia, and plenty of opinions. Just how we like it. The Ego & The Only ⚫ Person In The Room
2026/05/27
This week on Termagant Talk, Goodie and Shantel unpack summer energy in New York, aging in hip-hop, evolving friendships, and the growing tension between community, ego, and visibility in Black culture. What starts as conversations about music, media personalities, and “having motion” slowly turns into a deeper discussion about success, identity, loneliness, and what happens when people become more invested in status than connection. The episode moves through hip-hop nostalgia, masculinity, internet validation, luxury culture, old-school New York energy, and the difference between evolving gracefully versus staying emotionally stuck. Funny, layered, reflective, and deeply rooted in cultural perspective, this episode feels like a summer stoop conversation where hip-hop becomes the doorway into bigger conversations about ambition, friendship, class, and self-awareness. #TermagantTalk #HipHopPodcast #BlackCulture #HipHopCulture #NewYorkCulture #RapPodcast #MusicCommentary #CulturalCommentary #BlackPodcast #WomenInPodcasting #NYC #SpotifyPodcasts #YouTubePodcast
Who the F*ck Does Max B Think He Is?
2026/05/20
This week on Termagant Talk, Goodie and Shantel bounce between hip-hop nostalgia, rap ego, music culture, and the artists who shaped entire eras without always getting proper credit. The conversation moves from bold rapper claims and New York hip-hop legacy debates into reflections on charisma, creativity, confidence, and what really makes someone memorable in the culture. The episode also takes a lighter turn with a hilarious discussion about rap’s most generationally fine men, before diving into album appreciation, no-skip classics, forgotten music rituals, and why certain songs simply sounded different back then. Funny, nostalgic, opinionated, and deeply rooted in real hip-hop conversations, this episode feels like a summer cookout argument with people who genuinely love the culture. #TermagantTalk #HipHopPodcast #HipHopCulture #RapPodcast #NewYorkHipHop #MusicPodcast #RapCulture #90sHipHop #BlackPodcast #MusicCommentary #HipHopDebates #SpotifyPodcasts #YouTubePodcast

The episode also introduces recurring segments like Let the Tape Rock Till the Tape Pop and It Sounded Different Back Then, where the hosts revisit classics like Midnight Marauders, Rakim, and MC Lyte while unpacking songs that definitely aged differently over time. They also discuss KenTheMan, women in rap, femininity, and who female rappers are really making music for today. Funny, reflective, nostalgic, and unfiltered, this episode is two hip-hop heads reconnecting with the culture in real time. #TermagantTalk #HipHopPodcast #KendrickLamar #Drake #Nas #HipHopCulture #MusicPodcast #BlackPodcast #RapCulture #90sHipHop #WomenInPodcasting #MusicCommentary #CulturalCommentary #SpotifyPodcasts
