Turn your gaze to the faithful God. When evil's destructive nature affects our lives and communities, we are filled with confusion, anger, and sorrow. When evil persists, we may even question God’s goodness, power, or care. Scripture gives us a song to sing when wickedness prevails: Psalm 10. In the evil day, we can look to and trust the faithful God.

Advance the faith. There is a good fight for believers to battle in as they live out their days on this earth; it is the good fight of the faith. This battle rages on two fronts: within and without. The believer is called to advance the faith in their own lives and in the world around them.

Be content. The discontent, greedy, covetous heart leads down a path of physical, emotional, and spiritual ruin. Discontentment flows from the heart of unbelief and brings anxieties, miseries, and pains. God’s people are called to be content – to believe in God’s goodness and faithfulness, and to trust that God is enough.

This third session examines the role a believer has in sanctification. The Christian must diligently fill their mind with the truth of God’s Word. When the believer’s mind is saturated with truth, their hearts will produce righteous behavior that is empowered by God.

This second session walks through how God uses life’s storms to sanctify His people. Just as Jesus used the stormy sea to sanctify His disciples, God uses life’s storms to bring lasting transformation to His disciples today. There is eternal purpose in each storm.

This first session explores the foundational truths of sanctification. Sanctification is positional when one is born again, progressive as a believer lives, and perfected upon death. The Lord sanctifies His people as they yield to His empowering work in their lives, resulting in God’s glory and the good of His people.

Beware of false teachers. While many false teachers present themselves as teachers of the truth, their erring ways are seen in their words, character, and goals. The church is responsible for standing for the truth against these false teachers.

Exalt God by respecting authority. The name of God is exalted, and the good news of Jesus is illustrated when believers submit to those in authority. As believers, honor, obey, and seek the good of their leaders, they are obeying and honoring God.

A pastor’s character matters. A pastor must lead the church in moral and doctrinal purity. If a pastor lives in error or sin, he will lead the church away from the holiness of Christ. Therefore, a church must wisely examine a man before placing him in a position of leadership.

In this world's chaos, peace can be found only from the Lord. As our minds are stayed upon the Lord, He provides us with His peace.
