Today Pastor Dustin Clegg continues in the book of Romans and the series, In View of His Mercies.

Today we continue in the series, In View of His Mercies, and look at Romans 2:1-8. Pastor Dustin Clegg walks us through the passage and we talk about the differences between Moralism and the Gospel. Moralism 1) Operates out of ignorance of what is actually going on in others. 2) Focuses on the badness of people. 3) Is self-saturated. The Gospel 1) Is based on the whole truth alone. 2) Teaches us to walk in His mercies. 3) Is always righteous and holy. Application If you keep smelling dog poop everywhere you go and on everyone you meet, check your own shoes.

Happy Easter! Continuing in the series, In View of His Mercies, Pastor Dustin Clegg walks us through Romans 1:18-32 and has three points for us to focus on: 1) Suppressing the truth. (vs 18-23) 2) Deliverance we do not want. (vs 24-28) 3) Inventin and applauding evil. (vs 29-32)

In view of His mercies, we have started a study of the book of Romans and as we look at Romans 1:8-17 Pastor Dustin Clegg has 4 observations: 1) We will never become a Paul until we learn to become small. 2) First, and there is no second: communion with God and His people. 3) The obligation because of His mercies. 4) The real power.

Today we continue with the series, In View of His Mercies, as we look at Hosea 12 and 13. We started the service with 2 scheduled baptisms and ended with 2 additional baptisms. Praise the Lord! Pastor Dustin Clegg asked us to focus our preaching time today on: 1) The Chasm 2) The Pride 3) The Only Real Bridge

Continuing in the series, In View of His Mercies, Pastor Dustin Clegg walks us through Hosea 10 & 11 and has 3 observations: 1) Our hearts are devilish. 2) We are responsible for the hard places of our own hearts. 3) God's wrath doesn't always abandon His mercy.

Continuing with the series, In View of His Mercies, we look at Hosea 8 & 9 and Pastor Dustin Clegg points out 3 things fro the text that we have to talk about so we can be true to ourselves: 1) A God we "know" who doesn't know us. 2) Reaping whirlwinds. (8:7)      a. We should expect to reap after we sow.      b. We should expect to reap what we sow.      c. We should expect to reap more than we sow. 3) A Gospel too good to recognize. (8:12 & 9:7) How do we respond to this today? Acknowledge we become like the thing or person that we worship.

In view of the mercies of God....... Today we continue in our study of the book of Hosea and as we look at chapters 6 and 7, Pastor Dustin Clegg offers 3 observations: 1) Faithful love, not religious emotion. (6:4-11) 2) Faithful love of God always translates to faithful love of others. (7:1-7) 3) Politically charged religion is not the same as faithful love of Jesus. (7:8-18) How do we respond?

Continuing with our study of the book of Hosea and in view of the mercies of God we look at Wrong Diagnoses and Faulty Cures. Pastor Dustin Clegg walks us through Hosea 4:1 - 6:3 and gives us 5 observations: 1) Hosea presents the case God has against the people. Then he works backwards in describing the 3 offenses in chapters 4 - 13. (4:1) 2) False priests and the way they operate. (Mainly 4:8) 3) When we step away from the knowledge of God, we lose protection against idolatry. (4) 4) Faulty cures... BUT... Hosea 6:1-3 5) We always have room for repentance as long as Jesus is pursuing us.

Continuing in our study, In View of His Mercies, we look at Hosea 3 and Pastor Dustin Clegg has 4 observations from the text: 1) Jesus humbly forfeits His rights for those who have arrogantly pursued their own. (vs 1-2) 2) Jesus not only accepts us, but He purchases us at an infinite cost. (vs 2) 3) The goal of the enemy for every soul is destruction. (vs 2) 4) Full restoration from Jesus requires exclusive worship from His people. (Vs 3-5) How do we respond to this?

Continuing with the series, In View of His Mercies, today we look at Hosea 2 and explore Awkward, Painful, Messy Mercy. Pastor Dustin Clegg walks us though the chapter and shares his observations: 1) The holiness of Jesus leads Him to come to us in our gross rebellion. (2:13) 2) Jesus fiercely loves unrepentant people. (2:3-13).      - His fierce love blocks our path. (vs 6)      - His fierce love will not allow us to be satisfied in our unholy pursuits. (vs 7)      - His fierce love cares for us even when we are running away. (vs 8)      - His fierce love exposes our need. (vs 9)      - His fierce love crashes our party. (vs 10)      - His fierce love keeps us unsatisfied in outward religious activity. (vs 11)      - His fierce love removes our ability to provide for ourselves. (vs 12) 3) Jesus unexpectedly loves completely redeeming wayward, but repentant people. (2:14-22)

We are starting a new teaching series based on Romans 12:1 as we reflect on the mercies of God in our lives, In View of His Mercies, and today we look at Hosea 1 and explore the message titled, A Prostitute and a Preacher Walk Into a Chapel. Pastor Dustin Clegg has the following observations: 1) Jesus has every right to call His people to impossible and dreadful things to put His mercies on display for a broken world to see, and the only way we can rightly do what He calls us to is to be broken over what He has done for us more than what He called us to. (Hosea 1:1-3) 2) God is faithful. God keeps His promises. He is merciful and loving. He is full of grace and compassion. But God will judge idolatry of the heart. (Hosea 1:3-7) 3) It doesn't matter if we call Jesus ours if He is not calling us His. (Hosea 1:8-9) 4) God's promises are based on His goodness, not on our faithfulness. (Hosea 1:10 - 2:1) How do you respond?

We discover 4 different groups of people within these verses: 1) The maniac throne guardian. 2) The massacred innocent. 3) The familiar ignorant or indifferent. And 4) The eager worshippers. Read and reflect on Romans 12:1 and as you identify what group you are in, decide what true Christ worship looks like for you in the year ahead.
