David is joined by Xaque Gruber to discuss the Vero Beach Film Festival and this weekend’s Oscar Party being held in one of the beautiful homes in Vero Beach to raise funds for this year’s upcoming film festival. Xaque, an Academy Award voter also discusses some of this years nominees, as well as a discussion regarding the changes in the film industry in general through the last two years of the pandemic.

David rings in the New Year and Season 9 with an nostalgic essay on the generation we grew up in, followed by a retrospective of the past eight seasons of “Yak About Today”, from the original Tech format through the interviews with authors and experts on topic of interest to the Baby Boomer generation. The new season will be a mixture of formats including a focus on the upcoming Vero Beach Film Festival this June.

Join David as he kicks off Season 8 of Yak About Today with a focus on his new role as chairman of The Vero Beach Festival. Today's guest is filmmaker, writer and artist, Xaque Gruber who discusses his work, including Dynasty Reunion, Michael Jackson Memorial and various award shows, plus his collaboration with Sally Kirkland called Sallywood. Xaque is also on the board with David of the Film Festival as they discuss their exciting plans for this years upcoming event.

David and Matt discuss the difference between chronological and biological age. Athletes like Tom Brady, politicians such as President Biden and musicians like Bob Dylan illustrate how we can stay younger than our calendar age would lead one to believe. And David poses listener questions to both Matt and himself on a range of subjects, which leads to both serious and humorous replies.

David is joined by Matt Grant for a discussion of Pride Month focusing on David's own coming out period from the Stonewall Riot in New York City through the "gay plague" of AIDS that brought the party life to a halt in the 1980's. The discussion turns to the positive impact of activism in the gay community, as we celebrate Pride 2021.

David discusses varied topics this week, beginning with a response to a listener email regarding his favorite science fiction films. Other topics are the new Apple products introduced, including one of special interest to David, called Air tags using new wireless technology to track objects including finding misplaced car keys. David's guest is author Minter Dial discussing his new book, "You Lead". Minter details his vision of a new kind of leadership based on personality and authenticity. He tells us how a leader needs to do the hard work up front to create a realistic vision of who he wants to become to gain the trust of his employees and customers alike.
