Episode 122: Floored Genius
2026/01/01
Gav, Giles and Paul join Richard for the second half of our discussion about some actual missing episodes. In this moment of Film is Fabulous getting close to some missing episodes which still exist in film collections, Gav had the idea of each of us picking two standalone missing episodes to try to unravel some enduring mysteries. Originally there weren't going to be any Dalek episodes, but Gav and Richard forgot that part of the brief.
In this half of the discussion we look at The Massacre episode 4, The Celestial Toymaker episode 3, The Power of the Daleks episode 4 and The Highlanders Episode 3.

Gav's excellent YouTube series Terry Nation Army can be found here: https://youtube.com/user/Dalek6388. Also, next time you're in the North West, check out his new venture - West Kirby Escape Room: The Jurassic Factor westkirbyescaperoom.co.uk
Head over to https://www.bigfinish.com/, where we all love Paul's stories. You can find his latest Companion Chronicle The White Ship here as part of the Families box set: https://www.bigfinish.com/releases/v/doctor-who-the-companion-chronicles-families-3001
Giles is a published author with many books, primarily related to science and astronomy. check out his work here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/Giles-Sparrow/author/B001IXOESC, at all good bookshops, and a few bad ones too.
Richard's other podcast "If It's Hurting, It's not Working" is currently on hiatus, but it's a fun and informative look at work - why we work, how we work, and what makes a great job. And also what makes a great workplace, how to turn things round when we're not enjoying our work and, in the end, how we can all make our work better. We've moved - for all episodes, now go to https://open.spotify.com/show/4c8RB62kyKkfMPixhM7MmG.
The Something Who logo, which features prominently on all our cover art was designed for us by Bea Garrido. She's a really talented artist, who you can find by following this link: https://beagarridoart.weebly.com/, where you can buy prints of some remarkable paintings of characters from Doctor Who.
The opening music is Three Guitars Mood 2 and, yes, that is Richard playing the ukulele and kazoo on possibly the worst ever version of the Doctor Who theme tune at the end.
Episode 121: Missing Episodes - Mmm... Power

Marco, Myth Makers, Masterplan, Power. It's the Omnirumour all over again!
Well, not quite. Gav, Giles and Paul join Richard for a discussion about the episodes themselves. In this moment of Film is Fabulous talking about standalone episodes existing in film collections, Gav had the idea of each of us picking two standalone missing episodes to try to unravel some enduring mysteries. Episode 120: The Mistaken Prometheus
2025/11/01
This pairing of stories linked to Mary Shelley's horror story Frankenstein was Richard's idea: in the last episode we looked at the four part 4th Doctor story from early 1976 and Season 13 - The Brain of Morbius, which we've paired this time with 2020's 13th Doctor outing The Haunting of Villa Diodati from Series 12. We'll decide whether these stories have animated us like a bolt of lightning or left us feeling like mouldering corpses. Joining Richard for the discussion are Gav, Giles and Paul.
We recorded this episode in August; the first part came out in September and this part has taken until November; sorry for the wait.

Episode 119: Solon - See You Honey!
2025/09/18

Episode 118: Miss Zygon
2025/08/01
Back for the second half of this Gav-inspired pairing of two Zygon stories: last time's four part 4th Doctor story Terror of the Zygons, paired with this episode's 2015 two part 12th Doctor outing The Zygon Invasion / Inversion from Series 9. We'll decide whether these stories make you feel like lairds or a bunch of suckers. Joining Gav for the discussion are Paul, Giles and Richard.

2025/07/25
Gav suggested this pairing of two Zygon stories: in this episode the four part 4th Doctor story from 1975 which starts Season 13 - Terror of the Zygons, which we'll pair next time with 2015's two part 12th Doctor outing The Zygon Invasion / Inversion from Series 9. Bonus Mini-Episode - Talking with Dinosaurs
2025/06/25
A short outtake from our most recent recording in which we discover Giles and Rick's favourite dinosaurs and how to find Giles on Gallifrey Base, we very briefly discuss the new Walking with Dinosaurs series and the upcoming Jurassic World film, and Richard reveals that he hasn't moved on from The Doctor Who Dinosaur Book.
Episode 116: Doctor? Lost Her! Went to Gloucester
2025/06/23
The second half of what was supposed to be a quick and easy pair of episodes to research, record and edit, with less than 2 hours of screen time across the two stories. But somehow Richard has managed to invite everybody, so Giles, Rick and Paul are joined by returning guest Gav Rymill and this part is even longer than the first half.
We're discussing two stories which introduce an unexpected Doctor: last time it was the two part 6th Doctor story which concludes the whole Season 23 story The Trial of a Time lord, also known as The Ultimate Foe, which we've paired in this episode with 13th Doctor outing Fugitive of the Judoon from Series 12. We'll decide whether these stories give you a nice surprise or a nasty shock.

We'll decide whether they have colonial style, or require colonic irrigation. And whether, in fact, it's basically the same story twice over.

If this audio had been out in time we could have mentioned his appearance at the Calder Valley Brick Show. But if you missed that, he will also be at the Bricktastic show in Manchester on 22nd February.
Giles has 2 new children's books out, which you can find in all good bookshops and also at these links: Can We Live on Mars? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mind-Mappers-Mappers-Making-Difficult-Understand/dp/B0C65GDB4G/ and Spin to Survive: Deep Space Danger https://www.amazon.co.uk/Spin-Survive-Destiny-Pop-Out-Fortune/dp/0711287767/.
For all episodes, go to https://ifhurtnotwork.podbean.com/ and https://ifhurtnot.work.
Episode 109: Settling Disputes
2025/01/26
Paul, Giles, Rick and Richard return to discuss two stories with masterly intent - in this episode 3rd Doctor outing Colony in Space from Season 8, which we'll paired next time with 10th Doctor story Utopia from Series 3. We'll decide whether they have colonial style, or require colonic irrigation.

Head over to https://www.bigfinish.com/, where we all love Paul's stories. His latest release is an Audio Novel called The Lord of Misrule featuring the Fourth Doctor, Romana, Jago and Litefoot and starring Jon Culshaw: https://www.bigfinish.com/releases/v/doctor-who-the-lord-of-misrule-3160
Rick posts on social media as @brickpandorica, where you can find fantastic pictures of his Lego models of Doctor Who moments. If this audio had been out in time we could have mentioned his appearance at the Calder Valley Brick Show.
