F&F C2-E138 - Maybe Flying Spiders is a Better Idea
2026/10/16
Last we left off, the Tempests were still rooting out spies within Völsung, doing whatever they could to learn more about the Cult and where they were hiding.
After slaying and then questioning the Cult Acolyte Cedric, yes, in that order, they learned that the Cultists were using a strange compass to navigate the northern blizzards. Rather than pointing north, it pointed toward a specific location deep in the frozen wilderness.
With reports suggesting that a hundred, if not several hundred, Cultists could be waiting there, Jarl Sigmund began forming a plan. The forces gathered in Völsung would launch an assault to draw out and thin the Cult's numbers, while the Tempests circled around and attempted to infiltrate the stronghold itself.
More help was already on the way. Word arrived that the Takatari and Aztlan militaries had begun traveling toward Rokasing, eager to avenge the disappearance of the dragon god Tlazocolatl.
Meanwhile, Zaan was desperately searching for Yvonne, only for her to find him first. Their reunion was brief, as Yvonne soon left to prepare the Harpermere soldiers for the coming assault.
The Tempests had one day to prepare before setting out.
Not wanting to leave anything unfinished, Zaan sought out Yvonne once more and proposed to the Tabaxi. Her answer was simple: come back alive, and the answer would be yes.
With that promise waiting for him, Zaan and the Tempests set off toward what could very well be their final battle.
We rejoin them now on their first night in the wilderness without Cassie in a very long time.
Of course, Zaan had no intention of sleeping beneath the stars like some sort of animal.
Instead, he erected a magical cathedral dedicated to Valkyrie, giving the Tempests a warm and sheltered place to rest before continuing north.

Last we left off, the Tempests had confronted the Cult Acolyte Cedric and his entourage. After a short skirmish, Cedric was blasted "safely" inside Lakin's pocket dimension, but they would have to wait until the next morning before they could return and question him.
Back in Völsung, the Tempests noticed unfamiliar sails at the docks, but first reported their success to Jarl Sigmund. The Jarl was meeting with two strangers who looked far more at home in the warmer climates of the south and seemed to have little interest in introducing themselves, or even acknowledging the Tempests at all.
Sigmund asked that Skava be present when they questioned Cedric and told them to report back once they had learned something useful.
With time to spare, the group headed for the docks, where Qan'Karro had been placed in charge of inspecting and organizing the growing number of incoming ships. Moriko offered to help scan the vessels with the Crystallized Neural Node, while Zaan very generously volunteered his assistance so that he could (selfishly) spend more time with his adoptive father.
The next morning, Lakin, Kasumi, Pez, and Skava entered the pocket dimension prepared to resume the fight with Cedric. Pez was ready to shoot, Kasumi had an arrow prepared, and everyone expected trouble.
Cedric, unfortunately, had other plans.
By the time they returned, the Acolyte had succumbed to his wounds. Who knew that three bullet holes in the chest would cause all of your blood to leak out?
Searching his belongings revealed a strange compass with no obvious directional markings, and seemed to not work at all while inside the pocket dimension. Lakin then used his warlock-iness to question Cedric's corpse.
From the dead Acolyte, they learned that the compass points toward a Cult stronghold somewhere deep in the north. It could guide them in the right direction, but would do nothing to help them survive or navigate the brutal terrain. Cedric also revealed that there were likely hundreds of Cultists stationed there.
Meanwhile, Zaan and Moriko had returned to the docks to help Qan'Karro just as another unfamiliar vessel limped into port. This one flew the colors of Harpermere and seemed to be a little worse for wear.
The first ashore were Grant and Ena Harpermere, the kingdom's new King and Queen, accompanied by eight guards. Moriko's crystal immediately detected that one of them belonged to the Cult, though it was not immediately clear which one.
Qan'Karro escorted Ena and her guards toward the Jarl's Longhouse while Grant stayed behind to coordinate the damaged ship and the fleet following behind it. Zaan warned the King that one of Ena's guards was a Cultist, prompting Grant to take off after them and leave Zaan alone at the docks with one very forgotten goblin who revealed himself then promptly vanished again.
At the Longhouse, Qan'Karro was instructing the Queen's Guard on how best to defend the building when Grant caught up. With Moriko finally able to single out the traitor, Grant accused the guard and ordered his arrest.
The Cultist managed to get one swing of his sword off before Qan'Karro promptly ham-fisted his head into the ground.
We rejoin the Tempests now as Lakin, Kasumi, Pez, and Skava return from their own investigation to find Qan'Karro standing like Captain Morgan, one foot planted squarely on the subdued guard's chest.
Meanwhile, Zaan is still standing all by his lonesome at the docks.

Last we left off, the Tempests had finally arrived in Völsung, the capital of Zaan’s home country of Rokasing. The city was packed with people, with soldiers from all across Rokasing itching for a fight. Namely, against the Cultists who had been raiding and pillaging their land.
Unfortunately, the Cultists had proven slippery and are taking refuge somewhere within the blizzards to the north of the continent, an area notoriously difficult to traverse without the aid of one of the northern tribes.
But that problem would have to wait, as the Tempests had discovered there were spies operating within the walls of Völsung itself. After hunting one of them down, they learned that the spy had been relaying information to a local Cult leader: an Acolyte named Cedric.
Coming up with a plan to lure Cedric into the open, Moriko impersonated the now-deceased spy and contacted the acolyte using the sending stone they had found on the spy’s person. The bait? Lakin had turned against the Tempests, and the spy wanted to bring him in to be indoctrinated.
Cedric agreed to a face-to-face meeting well outside the city walls. Moriko altered her form to resemble the dead spy and escorted Lakin to the meeting point, where Cedric proved hesitant to believe that Lakin had truly betrayed his companions.
If Lakin wanted to prove himself, Cedric had a simple request: bring him Zaan, bound and beaten.
Only then would he believe the betrayal was genuine.
Lakin seemed all too happy to give Zaan a black eye, and the pair bickered the entire way back to the meeting point, doing their best to sell the idea that there had been growing discontent between them.
Seeing Zaan delivered to him on a silver platter, Cedric informed Lakin that his services were no longer required. Rather than allowing Lakin to turn Zaan in himself, Cedric intended to take the prisoner and claim all the credit.
After Cedric failed to cast a spell on both Lakin and Zaan, however, the trap finally snapped shut.
Lakin opened a door to his pocket dimension, where Pez had been hiding the entire time, and Pez promptly ventilated the Acolyte with a barrage of magical bullets.
We rejoin the Tempests now in the aftermath of a quick but bloody skirmish that left Cedric alone inside Lakin's pocket dimension and the six Cultists lying in wait now lay dead, scattered across the clearing.

F&F C2-E135 - I Could Lie
2026/08/21
Picking up where we last left off, the Tempests trekked across Rokasing and finally reached the capital city of Völsung, where they found the city packed to capacity with warriors from across the region, all ready for a fight that had yet to come.
Leaving Cassie outside the walls, the Tempests entered the city in search of the Jarl or Zaan’s father, Qan’Karro, hoping to share what they had learned. They found Qan’Karro first, giving Zaan a long-awaited reunion with his father—though with everything happening around them, there was little time to enjoy it.
Völsung was overflowing with fighters, with still more on the way, but the Jarl faced one rather significant problem: they had an army ready to hurl itself into battle and no idea where the enemy actually was.
G3-MENI, meanwhile, was safe and about as healthy as one could reasonably expect while missing their legs. They filled the Tempests in on what little they knew, but there were still far more questions than answers.
With evidence that cultists were operating inside Völsung itself, the Jarl placed the Tempests in the care of his Listener, Skava, and tasked them with rooting out the spies within the city. The hunt proved successful, followed by a rousing bout of interrogation involving chains, fire, spells, and threats of feathers. When the captive proved less useful alive than they had hoped, the Tempests turned to Lakin’s ability to negotiate with the dead instead.
From the dead spy, they learned that information from within Völsung was being passed to a Cult Acolyte named Cedric. The spy had never seen Cedric’s face, however, as the Acolyte always wore a mask.
The day still had one more surprise in store. During the interrogation, Kasumi was suddenly overwhelmed by a powerful sense of rage and loss—emotions that were not her own. Attempts to identify or dispel whatever magic might be affecting her revealed nothing, so the Tempests returned to Cassie, where Kasumi attempted to contact her deity, Shenshe.
Through a series of signs and a brief ritual, Kasumi managed to hear the dragon god’s voice. Shenshe revealed the source of the grief Kasumi had felt: her mate, Tlazocolatl, was gone. She gave Kasumi a single task.
Find him.
We rejoin the Tempests now aboard Cassie, just outside the walls of Völsung, as they decide what comes next.

F&F C2-E134 - How Many Gauges You Want?
2026/08/07
Last we left off... The Tempests journeyed North into Zaan's homeland, the frozen region known as Rokasing. As with much of Archeron, Rokasing was in a rough way. According to the Jarl of his hometown, many of the able-bodied fighters had gone East to Volsung where other Rokasinians were gathering to handle this cultist threat.
The Tempests headed East themselves, though it was a slow journey. Deep snows covered the path, requiring Cassie to deploy her spider-like legs often to make it through the heavy snow drifts. This did give the Tempests plenty of time to reach out to family, old friends, and acquaintances to ask for aid in the coming fight. They knew roughly where the cultists were, but not precisely where. Their hope was to learn more once arriving in Völsung.
After taking the better part of a week to travel across Rokasing, and encountering a disturbing, cannibalistic Giant Elk along the way, the Tempests have finally laid eyes on the capitol city, Völsung.
We rejoin them now as they descend down the slope towards the makeshift camps gathered outside the city's main defensive walls.

F&F C2-E133 - Flesh for the Drum Heads
2026/07/27
Picking up where we last left off, the Tempests have finally made it to Rokasing, the frozen north. Zaan was quite literally thumping for joy to finally return home after being abroad for over a year. It was finally time to tell his tale to his northern brethren.
But things were not quite as he recalled them to be.
After passing through the Isovergang outpost, they made a beeline towards Zaan's hometown, Sverker, and found that its population was fairly diminished. The able bodied fighters had left for Völsung some time ago to join with the rest of the Rokasinians and determine what could be done about the threat in their homeland.
Jarl Brunhilde was only able to relay so much information, as she simply didn't know the answers to their questions. So, Zaan reached out to his father, Qan'Karro who had supposedly left for Völsung with the others, and learned that to travel north of the road was a bad idea and that nature was not to be trusted these days.
Kasumi also reached out with the book of sending, first to G3-MENI to get a better idea of where she was exactly and to ascertain the state of her health. Mostly mended, G3-MENI was in the main long house of Völsung. Kasumi then reached out to Brick with the book, but the spell failed.
With no other answers, and with much reluctance from Zaan, the Tempests set off once more into the somewhat unknown wilderness to meet up with the rest of the warrior nation to see what could be done about these detestable cultists.

Last we left off, the Tempests were heading North across the landbridge that connects the continent of Drago to Rokasing, the frozen North. Their destination being the capitol city of Volsung where there missing friend G3-MENI claimed to have taken refuge in after being saved by her brother and past Tempest member, Brick. Last she spoke, she didn't know of his current status or whereabouts.
The journey was anything but smooth however. This stretch of land is not often traveled and there is no clear road to pass through. The temperature dropped rapidly and the biting sea air coming from the East chilled them to the bone. Their forward scout Bogbo came across a large feather from an unknown creature and set out ahead once more. When they saw him next, he was asleep in the middle of the road. Thinking fast, Lakin flew skyward to see what he could perceive and was promptly attacked by a Harpy. With blood in the air, the Tempests were set upon by a flock of Harpies. But their alluring voices were only so effective and a brief aerial skirmish took place. But the tides of the fight turned abruptly. More Harpies flew in from the West, but seemed to be ignoring the Tempests as a bright glow rose from the far side of the mountains. Lakin was none-too-keen on letting any of the Harpies escape and gave chase, blinding and confusing a few of them.
One hapless Harpy was so disoriented, blinded by Lakin's spell, that it doubled back and flew straight into the claws of an approaching Ember Roc. The beast seemed to be hunting the Harpies, but once both Zaan and Pez took shots at the colossal beast, its attention shifted. Urging Cassie onward, the Tempests began to flee. But the loud roaring of the cannon atop Cassie's roof drew the Roc's attention to it and with a flap of its burning wings, set Cassie's right side aflame.
Thinking quickly, Lakin flew towards the Ember Roc and just managed to lay his hand on the creature's flank, sending it to a different plane of existence before he himself crashed down into the snow. Adrenaline flowing.. paranoia, fear, and tempers high.. The Tempests continued northward towards the frozen expanse of Zaan's homeland.

F&F C2-E131 - It's A "Light Over There" Problem
2026/06/26
Picking up where we last left off, the Tempests continue their journey north toward Rokasing. Rather than risk the open waters again, they have chosen to travel overland through the Knightly Kingdoms. Their route brought them to Northerwren, a Welterwatch outpost standing as the last bastion of the region before the frozen north begins in earnest.
After a very close call at the gate, where the guards discovered that Zaan was one of the so-called “northern savages,” the Tempests were allowed inside to prepare for the cold ahead. Lakin hired the camp tailor, Ridley, to make heavier cloaks and warmer jackets for the group. But, when Ridley offered a compliment or two to Moriko, Lakin immediately assumed the man was trying to court the pink eladrin and challenged him to a duel for the right to do so.
Ridley accepted and it went poorly for him. The much larger orc proceeded to thoroughly beat the tailor into the dirt, though no lasting harm was done. Zaan healed Ridley afterward, and the tailor returned to work on the party’s cold weather gear. Once their new clothing was ready, the Tempests wasted no time setting out across the land bridge to the north.
We rejoin them now on the road, shortly after Bogbo discovered a disturbingly large feather lying along the path, with none of them quite certain what sort of creature it might have come from.

Last we left off, the Tempests were heading North towards Rokasing, the Frozen North. It's where the enemy seemed to be operating, and it's where their old friend GE-MINI had been moved to after supposedly being rescued by Brick, though she was severely damaged. The party stuck to the roads, deciding that it would be easier, if not longer, than try to cut through the forest with a giant mobile cart-home..
Their first stop would be Crossroads, a small junction town they'd passed through previously before heading North West. Unfortunately, they arrived in the early hours of nightfall and the gates were already closed. Undeterred, Kasumi decided to grab Zaan, their most 'diplomatic' party member, to see about getting the guards to open the gates for them.
Without pre-amble, Zaan leapt up onto the walls and asked if the gate could be lowered, then was immediately arrested. Kasumi was a tad bit too late to stop these events, and was turned away despite flailing around Sir Reginald's insignia and letter. The gates were to remained closed through the night on the Duchess' orders. Zaan would have to spend the night in jail.
Come the morning, the Tempests waltzed right in to Crossroads and went about freeing their companion from confinement. Zaan however, rushed out in his eagerness to be free after paying the fine and nearly scarpered off with his manacles still around his wrists.
We rejoin the Tempests now as they regroup just outside the jail in Crossroads and come to the realization that their forward scout, Bogbo, was missing.

Picking up where we last left off, The Tempests returned to where their journey first began, the wild, untamed desert lands of the Drago continent. It was not how they left it however. A large beast had appeared and was leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. The party had no time to linger however.. The very world was at stake and their haste towards the frozen north took precedence.
They weren't heartless however. Even though Lakin was quite irate at being shot by an arrow, the Tempests still paused long enough to help heal the remaining Welterwatch forces that protected the pass through the Dragonfire Mountains that lead to the Knightly Kingdoms. Pez offered to lighten their load a bit, but was told to put his gun away and behave.
Their short stop coming to an end, the Tempests convinced their recent addition, Mug, to stay behind and help guard the pass. Some smooth talking from Lakin convinced the Ogre to stay behind so he could boss around all the little pink skins.
On through the pass they went once more, stumbling across a small scouting party of Cultists who were swiftly dispatched by Bogbo, then questioned by Lakin pre and post death. Strangely, the moment the Cultist's resuscitated skull uttered the name of their leader, the soul attached to it was forcibly ripped away, causing a bit of psychic backlash. Arsinoe Balor seems to be the name of the mastermind behind all of the cult's activities. What is their end goal? To bring Saedhir into the world. The only question remaining is how?
We rejoin the Tempests now as they gather at the exit to the pass in the Knightly Kingdoms.

F&F C2-E128 - Hammer Bros
2026/05/18
Last we left off, the Tempests were moving through the West on their journey North and came across a ghost town. Perhaps a week or more prior, the denizens had left the town unguarded and unmanned, taking what they needed and left the rest behind. Undeterred, the Tempests continued on towards the pass through the mountain.
Approaching the pass, the original members of the Tempests noticed something a bit different compared to the last time they came through. Barricades, trenches, and other defensives lines had been erected. Curious about this change, Lakin took Zaan and Pez skyward to investigate. The soldiers let loose a volley of arrows towards the flying group and struck Lakin in the shoulder, which infuriated the Orc. However, Zaan was able to diffuse the situation and the leader of the soldiers was called out to handle things. Sir Reginald greeted the Tempests, recalling their last visit through the pass and quickly explained their situation. Many of his Harpermere soldiers had abandoned their post in lieu of returning to their homeland, but the Welterwatch men stayed behind to defend the pass and assure that nothing heinous came through. Magic had dwindled or faded entirely and many assaults by members of the Transcendent Maw had harried their position in the past, so seeing people flying immediately put the men on the defense. And the best defense is a good offense.
With tempers quelled and Lakin... somewhat.. subdued, we rejoin the Tempests now as Sir Reginald escorts the Tempests to the Dragonshade Camp where Zaan and Moriko could help heal the wounded men and perhaps learn more about what was happening on the continent of Drago.

F&F C2-E127 - We Ain't Found Shit!
2026/05/01
Picking up where we last left off, the Tempests had returned to the Untamed West on their journey northward towards Rokasing after passing through Gloomwren Pass. Reaching the base of the mountain trail, Lakin Pez and Zaan flew down to inspect the suspiciously quiet Gloomwren. Not a single soul moved until Lakin called out and the large Boss called Mug emerged from one of the tents. Not all too bright and oddly friendly, Mug explained that he became the boss after sitting on the previous boss. When things started going topsy turvey, Mug sent the rest of Gloomwren back up the pass, stating that he didn't like going uphill, so he stayed behind.
Lakin, using his masterful wordplay, managed to convince Mug to travel with them. After all.. he can't be the boss if there's no one to boss around. Zaan then introduced the newer members of the party to THE JUG and thankfully things went rather well. Lakin and Mug grew taller for a time, Pez became a water elemental for a while, and Bogbo became an undead for a bit.
With playtime over, it was time to head out. Their path soon brought them further westward and nearer to the black scar cutting across the dunes. Whether coincidence, or correlation, a small group of Bulettes had been slain and eaten. Mug, looking for a snack himself, wandered up and was promptly attacked by a giant Purple Worm. Dispatching of the first rather quickly, a second emerged and tried to take a bite out of Cassie. Moriko turned into a rock elemental and dove into the dunes after the Worm to keep it from running away.
The battle won and wounds healed, we rejoin the Tempests now as they venture North towards Dragonshade Camp once more.

F&F C2-E126 - Who's D!ck Did I Just Slap?
2026/04/17
Last we left off, the Tempests had set out through the Orc Lands to head north after completing their task in destroying the Bloodmoon Clan. The journey so far had been rather uneventful, with the various Orc Clans seeming to have sequestered themselves after the potential loss of their deity, Ghamborz. The Tempests made their way to Gloomwren pass, the one 'safe passage' through the mountains. Though they encountered no enemies, something foul was on the air. Literally. The stench of rot and decay drifted on the breeze all through the night with no discernable source anywhere nearby. It wasn't until the morning sun rose above the peaks behind them did they start to see what might be the source. Ahead of them and down the winding mountain path laid the sandy dunes of the West. Moriko's sharp eyes, having never seen the desert before, still noted something amiss. A large black scar across the dunes.
We rejoin them now as they continue down the mountain path into the Untamed West once more.

F&F C2-E125 - I'm a Belligerent God
2026/04/03
Picking up where we last left off, the Tempests are deep within the Orc Lands. With their promise to Lakin kept, and a new task given to them by Ceto, they had many things to plan for. After plotting their course, they tasked Cassie with heading North West towards the Gloomwren pass that would allow them egress into the desert where their adventure first began. With Lakin now amongst the living, Zaan wanted to introduce the re-born Orc to Fern's cafe, only to find the passageway through the pantry collapsed.
Trying and failing to not panic, Zaan desperately reached out to his booty call and see what was going on. According to the Tabaxi Lieutenant, things were bad in Harpermere. The King and Queen were dead and things were in turmoil. Only after Pez questioned why Zaan thought to check on Yvonne and not Fern, did he realize that he was a dumbass and contacted one of their closest friends. Fern claimed to be okay, but there was much going on and little time to converse past the one spell.
Pez then took a moment to use the book of sending to contact his Sister in the West. Though she was reportedly safe, she expressed concerns with the world's current state as well. A behemoth of a beast was reportedly roaming around the desert, laying waste to anything and everything around the main railway.
To take their minds off of things for a while, and also to try out his new gifts, Lakin challenged Zaan to a friendly duel that got a bit more heated than Lakin was expecting and quickly put the rabbit in his place.
Later the next day, the Tempests came upon a bridge that would allow them to cross the river that splits the region down the middle... guarded by a single goblin. They spent little time in wording their way around the goblin's senses and convinced him that he was far superior than the rest of his clan and sent him on his way. Crossing the bridge with ease, Pez and Lakin took a moment to destroy the bridge to further hinder the orc clans and continued North again.
We rejoin them now at the 'dawn' of a new day amidst a torrential downpour as they attempt to find their way towards Gloomwren pass.

F&F C2-E124 - You aren't UGLY.. You're MISSHAPEN!
2026/03/20
Last we left off, the Tempests were deep in orcish lands, their target: The Bloodmoon Clan. But an outright assault wasn't the plan. First, they would take out the chief known as Ta Bloodrage. Approaching the encampment from the water, the Tempests snuck in close, then gave the signal to Bogbo to begin his distraction. And what a distraction it was! The little goblin unleashed the air elemental lent to him to lay waste to the outskirts of the clan's base.
The ruckus drew the attention of the rest of the Bloodmoon clan, include Ta, which drew the chief out of her abode and into the open. The Tempests wasted little time in assaulting the orc chieftess. She was not so easily killed however, and appeared to be quite powerful, creating duplicates of herself around the village and slipping through the fingers of the Tempests at every turn... Until Ta Bloodrage cried out in frustration and dropped her facade. The image of a ritualistic female orc dropped, revealing the visage of The Speaker as he summoned more of his wordlings to surround Zaan. So focused was he on Zaan however, he didn't notice Moriko coming up behind him in her water elemental form and WHELMED HIM. With no way to speak, the Speaker was trapped within the elemental and was an easy target for Pez's fireball spell which ended the Speaker in a boiling tomb.
As the rest of the Tempests gathered to discuss their next steps, Lakin took off to assist Bogbo in finishing off the rest of the Bloodmoon Clan. With the remaining Bloodmoons scattered and fleeing, the party considered the job complete and headed back to their wagon, Cassie. Along the way, Lakin felt an urgent pull that had him straying towards the water. Urging his fellows to go back to the wagon, Lakin took off for the water's edge and found Ceto there waiting for him in her colossal form. The sea goddess brought mostly bad tidings for Lakin.. The world was in turmoil. Many of her brethren deities were missing, or in the case of Coyote, in hiding, after being attacked by Saedhir's minions. In light of all that had occurred, Ceto considered her bargain with Lakin complete in the hopes that her champion would be able to turn his rage towards Saedhir and his followers instead. Ceto then granted Lakin's desire and returned his life to him. No longer an undead orc, Lakin took his time returning to the wagon to meet his very surprised party members.
We rejoin them now as they travel through the night to the north, Lakin laying nekkid on the roof and sleeping for the first time in centuries.
