How sure can a Christian be of eternal life with Jesus? Bob shows us from this text that the answer to that question comes not from within but from God's testimony about his Son. The only real question is whether you have the Son!

As the whole world celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Christchurch witness his continuing power to save as four young men are baptised. In this message, Lewis Roderick takes us to Matthew 28 and shows us the global significance of Christ's resurrection and the impact it can have on each of our lives.

It's the week to define all weeks in Jesus' ministry culminating in the seismic events of his crucifixion and resurrection, and the long-anticipated King finally comes to Jerusalem, but how does he come and for what purpose?  

"Is there any meaning in my life that the inevitable death awaiting me does not destroy?" So wrote Leo Tolstoy, and so might we say when we realise how brief our lives can be.  Yet in the resurrection of Jesus Christ there is hope that our dust will turn to glory, and nothing in life is in vain.  Listen in as Lewis Roderick concludes our series Human: Dust and Glory, as we turn to Genesis 3: 19, and consider what it means to return to the dust. 

"Of all the splendidly ridiculous, transcendently fulfilling things humans do, it's sex that most confounds understanding. What in the world are we doing? Why in the world are we so consumed by it? Why should this be so? Did nature simply overload us in the mating department, hot-wiring us for the sex that is so central to the survival of the species, and never mind the sometimes sloppy consequences? Or is there something smarter and subtler at work, some larger interplay among sexuality, life and what it means to be human?" - TIME 2004 As we near the end of Human: Dust and Glory, we turn to Genesis 2: 18 - 25, and consider what it means to be made sexual. 

As we continue our series considering what it means to be human, we arrive at the culturally hot and pastorally loaded subject of gender. In this message, Lewis Roderick teaches from Genesis 1+2, and shows us the Reality, Compatibility and Pain of Gender. And the  love of Christ for the whole world. 

In 'we are communal' we hear that God has made us to be in community with him and with others. But that communion has been ruined by sin which shows itself in estrangement from God, others, and ourselves. In Christ we are wonderfully redeemed and reconciled to God and to another which we get to experience in the church, the body of Jesus.

Built into the human psyche as a result of the Fall is the desire to be autonomous & independent. We see finitude as a flaw and dependence as a deficiency, just like Adam & Eve did, which plunged mankind into sin & alienation from God. Listen in as Bob McCan shows us how the perfect finite man Jesus Christ gloriously redeems our corrupted finitude and restores us to joyful God-dependence.

"How are you feeling?" As we continue 'Human: Dust and Glory', Lewis Roderick unpacks the role emotions play in our humanity; where the come from, why they're good and why they shouldn't be obeyed. And shows us how a right vision of Jesus can lead to emotional health.

When God creates humanity, he gave them a mandate: "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it;" In this sermon, Pete Greasly takes us into how our God-given purpose was ruined by sin and is restored in the gospel of his Son Jesus.

What is a human body? A shell that houses the real you? Or is it the sum total of all we are; just matter, molecules and mucus? In Genesis 2 we glimpse a glorious picture and a profound reality: every person is both an embodied soul and ensouled body.
