As the culture grieves collectively the loss of Malcolm Jamal Warner—it’s okay to experience your feelings—despite (many of us) not knowing him personally. We’ll process this loss (grief) collectively, individually and differently—based on our own realities. And it’s never okay to judge or tell anyone when, how, and who they should grieve. For many years now, I have been writing books about my life—trials, trauma, heartbreak, heartache—healing, growth—and triumphs. And though I have shared these stories from the perspective of my adulthood—I never returned back to the one person that needed acknowledgement, healing and love spoken into her—so that she could finally get her closure. The “little girl” that held on to me—the “girlie” that deserved more love, attention, and protection than what was afforded her. She finally gets her Love Letter.🌹
