Record catfish from Tennessee are not common. As a matter of fact, it's been over 20 years since the blue catfish record was broken in Tennessee. In 2022 the Tennessee state record for a blue catfish was broken by Micka Burkhart with a 118 pound monster from the Cumberland River. Micka Burkhart's record catfish is one of the largest catfish ever caught in America. A potential new Tennessee state record blue catfish has just been caught on the Cumberland River in Tennessee. Micka Burkhart is the angler who caught the giant catfish. Coincidentally, he hold the current Tennessee state record for a blue catfish. State record catfish are rare. Prior to last year the Tennessee record blue catfish stood for many years. It is always amazing when an angler breaks his own record. It is very rare that a fisherman breaks his own record.🔴 🔶 🔴 🔶 FOR A GUIDED FISHING TRIP WITH ME CLICK HERE: https://dietermelhornfishing.com/guide-trips

Would you kill a trophy catfish, or would you kill any trophy fish, to set a state record or world record if you knew 100% that it would make the record books? World record fish, especially world record catfish, and state record fish are rare. Of the millions of catfish caught in America each year, only a couple make the record books. Recently, Missouri angler Daniel Mayer has caught the new state record for a blue catfish for the state of Kansas, and the fish died before it could be released alive. Daniel Mayer caught the record blue catfish on the Missouri River in May of 2025 and the record was recently certified.. Mayer was eligible for the Catch the Fever prize of $20,000 for catching a state record catfish. The new state record, caught on the Missouri River, weighs in at 121.1 pounds and measures in at 59.75 inches. Releasing the catfish alive was part of the requirement to receive the Catch the Fever prize, so now Mayer is not eligible to win the money.🔴 🔶 🔴 🔶 FOR A GUIDED FISHING TRIP WITH ME CLICK HERE: https://dietermelhornfishing.com/guide-trips

There is a new record channel catfish in 2025. This record channel catfish was caught in New York on the Black River Bay on Lake Ontario. Dylan Kampnich caught the new New York state record channel catfish with an earthworm while fishing for catfish with his family. This giant channel catfish weighed nearly 38 pounds. Catching a record channel catfish is rare, especially in the cold waters of New York's Black River Bay. This is the second New York state record channel catfish caught in the past five years. If you've ever wondered what's the channel catfish record for New York, this is it!🔶.🔶 🔶BOTE Kula Cooler in this video: https://amzn.to/3Ht2gy8Bote mug in this video: https://amzn.to/4mQRHFi🔴 🔶 🔴 🔶 FOR A GUIDED FISHING TRIP WITH ME CLICK HERE: https://dietermelhornfishing.com/guide-trips

Many believe this is the biggest blue catfish ever caught in America? Could this blue catfish break the current world record for a blue catfish? The blue catfish world record blue catfish is 142 pounds and it was caught in Kerr Lake in Virginia. World record blue catfish only come around every so often, so catching a world record catfish is a rare. Angler Jesse Lance from Missouri caught a blue catfish on the Missouri River that appears to be one of the largest catfish ever caught in America. This blue catfish was massive and Jesse Lance did what few catfish anglers would do, he released the catfish alive without weighting to make sure it survived. Many have asked if this is a new world record blue catfish or a state record blue catfish for Missouri. While this giant blue catfish is likely large enough to shatter either record, since it was not weighed on certified scales it is ineligible for any state record for a blue catfish or world record for a blue catfish.🔴 🔶 🔴 🔶 FOR A GUIDED FISHING TRIP WITH ME CLICK HERE: https://dietermelhornfishing.com/guide-trips

In this video I discuss the grand jury indictment in the fatal boat crash on Smith Lake that killed three striper fishermen, and injured two more, in April of 2025. Professional bass angler Flint Davis was fishing on Smith Lake when he collided with a group of fishermen that were striper fishing. A grand jury indicted Flint Davis with five felony charges that included manslaughter and felony assault. The Cullman County grand jury indicted Flint Davis in the deaths of Joe M. Broom, John “Kelly” Clark, and Jeffrey C. Little, 62. The indictment states that Davis was traveling 67 miles per hour when the collision happened and that he did “recklessly engage in conduct that which manifested extreme indifference to the value of human life and created a grave risk death.”Links to Cerebral Tackle Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@cerebraltackleLink to Get Ur Fish On! In this video I discuss fishing sonar units, also known as fishfinders. These are fishing electronics that use sonar to detect fish in the water from a boat. Lowrance, Garmin, and Humminbird are some of the major brands in the fishing world. Many fishermen ask me what is the best fishfinder, or what is the best sonar unit. Choosing a fishfiinder can be tough, especially with so many people claiming Lowrance is the best fish finder, or Garmin is the best fishing sonar, or Humminbird makes the best fishing electronics. I give you my take and impression on what I like and what to look for.In this video I discuss fishing sonar units, also known as fishfinders. In this video I discuss some of the things that I see happening in the catfish tournament world right now. Catfishing tournaments have been around a long time, and catfish tournaments have grown in size and payouts. Many suggest that the tournament world has hit a plateau, or may be past the peak. Big events like the the Mississippi River Monster Catfish Tournament, and the Bama Blues Catfish Tournament have changed the game with their higher entry fees and higher payouts. Catfish tournament series like the King Kat Catfish Tournament Series have had to make major changes to adapt to the new landscape.🔴 🔶 🔴 🔶 FOR A GUIDED FISHING TRIP WITH ME CLICK HERE: https://dietermelhornfishing.com/guide-trips

Many people have fished pay lakes for catfish, carp and trout. Pay lakes are privately owned bodies of water where you pay the owner to fish the lake. Some paylakes let you keep fish, while some paylakes do not let you keep the fish you catch. Catfishing pay lakes is popular in many areas. and carp pay lakes are big in the south. Fishing a pay lake can be an affordable and safe way to get out on the water. There are some down bad things about pay lakes. Many catfish fishermen do not like pay lakes because many of them take trophy catfish from public waters and put them into pay lakes.🔴 🔶 🔴 🔶 FOR A GUIDED FISHING TRIP WITH ME CLICK HERE: https://dietermelhornfishing.com/guide-trips

Link to Steve Douglas GoFundMe account:https://gofund.me/e19781ef6Most of you who know me know that I have been trying to help Steve Douglas of Monster Rod Holders. Steve has been hit from all angles this last year. From court battles to a 50-year flood event, to a battle with cancer, he has been hit.He started off the year in a court battle just to keep the Monster name. Although he won that battle, it was not without a huge financial burden.Next, he had the flood in the spring which put not only his business but his home under 3 feet of water. This was a major undertaking on the cleanup side and is honestly still not finished. We have gotten him back up and running business-wise and got him back into his home, but there is still a lot to do before it will be back to normal. Although insurance did step in to pay some, Steve was still financially liable for a large chunk of the expense. Now, if you know Steve, you know he is a tough ole man from here in KY, and he was not going to sit and watch us do this cleanup work without being right there shoveling with us. Well, while shoveling, Steve started to feel really weak and experience some extreme joint pain. After several weeks of doctor visits and a whole lot of testing, he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. While not terminal, the doctor said it was treatable but not curable. Now they are in a battle to stop the cancer from growing and get him a plan together to live out what is hopefully a long rest of his life. That brings us up to now. Steve is unable to work every day here in the shop, and I simply can’t drop everything in my life to be here full-time. So unfortunately, we have been forced to close up shop at Monster until Steve is well enough to at least help me open it back up. This leaves him with no income and a pile of doctor bills, his regular bills, the bills from Monster, and some hefty insurance premiums. So I have discussed this with Steve, and against his stubborn ways, he has agreed to let me do this fundraiser for him. I’m asking all his past customers, YouTube subscribers, friends, family, and acquaintances to donate anything you can. Even just a couple of bucks will be greatly appreciated and will go a long way. This man has done a lot for the catfish community in so many ways. Whether it’s teaching many of us something on YouTube, sponsoring anglers, sponsoring tournaments, putting in thousands of hours with Catfish Conference, or just talking fish with us, we have all gotten something from his existence in the catfish world. Even if you can’t donate money, it’s free to share this out and help get this man back on his feet and back to catching some fish. Thank you for any and all contributions from the bottom of my heart.🔶🔶🔶 CATFISH PRO products CLICK HERE, and use the promo code catfish at checkout to save some money!!: https://catfishpro.com/?sca_ref=6416532.3TtqYCqlOmOcbknZ🔴 🔶 🔴 🔶 FOR A GUIDED FISHING TRIP WITH ME CLICK HERE: https://dietermelhornfishing.com/guide-trips

In this video I discuss some of the things I have done over the past 18 months to lose a significant amount of weight. In addition to the weight loss I have also lowered my A1C, blood pressure and triglycerides. The keto diet was part of this transformation, and the other part was cutting out junk carbohydrates in what I eat. Changing my mindset on food, and how I eat, literally changed my life. Losing weight not only has an impact on how you look and your health, but also how you feel.🔶🔶🔶 CATFISH PRO products CLICK HERE, and use the promo code catfish at checkout to save some money!!: https://catfishpro.com/?sca_ref=6416532.3TtqYCqlOmOcbknZ
