LOADED: Loaded Up (Week 2)
2026/09/20
Last week LOADED made the case for giving first, a decision that goes before anything else touches your account. This week we look at investing. Jesus tells a strikingly powerful story, about three servants entrusted with a fortune, one of whom buries what he's given out of fear rather than risk, and gets confronted for it. His fear, it turns out, was never really about the money. It was about who he believed the master to be.
LOADED: Loaded Down (Week 1)
2026/09/13
We've all had that moment at the airport, heaving a bag onto the scale and watching the number flash red. Loaded opens right there, then asks a bigger question: what if the weight we're actually carrying with money was never really about how much we have? In week one we look at a group of churches in ancient Macedonia, people living in genuine poverty who somehow became the most generous example Paul had ever seen, and the deeper reason he gives for it, one that has nothing to do with fundraising and everything to do with what Jesus already gave up. Generosity, it turns out, was never a function of surplus. It's a decision. And it goes first.
Finding Freedom: Escaping the Pharaohs of the Heart (Week 2)
2026/09/06
The journey from Israel’s impossible moment at the Red Sea to Jesus’ promise of true freedom, revealing how God confronts both the visible chains and the hidden masters within us. Through Scripture, story, and honest self‑reflection, it invites listeners to name their modern Pharaohs, trust the God who fights for them, and step forward into the new creation.
Finding Freedom: Becoming Yourself (Week 1)
2026/08/30
Inspired by the early life of Moses the sermon shows that true identity begins not with achievement or self‑definition, but in an encounter with God: You are seen. You are cared for. You are known. You are crowned with glory and honor. This is who you are because this is who God made you to be..
MISUNDERSTOOD: The Object of Faith
2026/08/23
We've all heard "just have faith," as if it means switching off your brain and hoping for the best. This message asks a different question: what if real faith was never about how hard you believe, but about what you're actually resting your weight on? From an ancient list of ordinary people who trusted God long before we did, to a paralysed man lowered through a roof by four friends who'd seen enough to risk everything on it, Misunderstood makes the case that faith was never a feeling to chase. It's confidence placed in someone who has already proven himself trustworthy. Grown not Grinded: The Effort of Abiding (Week 2)
2026/08/09
Last week we named the grind, the belief that a real connection with God takes more effort, more hustle, more doing. But what if that belief is quietly saying Jesus’ work on the cross wasn’t enough? This week we sit in the tension every honest believer eventually hits: if we’re saved by grace, why does the Bible keep telling us to do good? The answer changes everything about how good works actually happen, and it starts with one word: abide.
Grown not Grinded: Embracing the tension (Week 1)
2026/08/02
Think of a person you admire. It is likely because of what they have done. In fact when we think of success it is usually determined by progress that comes as a result of effort, hustling, striving, grinding. Yet when it comes to our spiritual health, it's different; it's about being connected.
Define the Relationship: Don’t Miss the Party (Week 6)
2026/07/26
We started the series with a story about two brothers and a father who ran. We spent that first morning with the younger one - the one who left, lost everything, and found his way home. But there was always someone else in that story. Someone who never left, never wandered, did everything right - and still found himself standing outside the party, close enough to hear the music, unable to walk through the door. This week we go back for him. Because it’s possible to be around something your whole life and never actually be in it - to be familiar without ever becoming family. This is where everything lands: the story, the framework, and the invitation that’s been open the whole time. The father is still in the yard. The music’s still playing. Don’t miss it.
Define the Relationship: Settled (Week 5)
2026/07/19
Jesus told a story about a farmer who had a very good year, built bigger barns, and told himself to take life easy - and Luke records God’s one-word response. We look at why comfort might be the most successful of the four things we all chase, why it’s the only one that never breaks you, and what it quietly costs: a life rich in only one direction. Then a harder question than last week’s - not “where are you?” but “how long have you been there?”
Define The Relationship: Don't Be Fooled (Week 4)
2026/07/12
Two weeks ago we introduced a map - stranger, acquaintance, mate, friend, family - and asked you to find yourself on it. This week we ask a harder question: why do people stop moving? For many of us, it's not that we don't want to go deeper. It's that we know what deeper costs. Some of us have paid it before, and it went badly. This week we're honest about that. We look at Joseph - a man betrayed by his own family, with every reason to self-protect forever - and the moment he chose to say "don't be afraid" to the very people who gave him his scars. Because here's the truth about the wounds you're carrying: they're not a warning sign. They're a sign you're stronger than what hurt you. Real belonging requires real risk. Don't be fooled into thinking safe is the same as protected.
Define the Relationship: You Choose (Week 3)
2026/07/05
An invitation arrives with your name on it. Someone wanted you there. And at the bottom, a little box: RSVP, respond, please. Here’s the thing about that box: it doesn’t fill itself in, and not replying is also a reply. This week we introduce some shared language for the journey from stranger to family - five stages you already know instinctively - and meet a woman named Ruth, who was released from every obligation and chose the deepest reply anyone has ever given: your people will be my people. The depth of community you experience is determined by the depth of community you choose. So - where are you, honestly? And what’s your next step?
Define the Relationship: No Longer Strangers (Week 2)
2026/06/28
Last week we heard a story about two brothers and a father who ran. This week we look at how the apostle Paul describes that same journey — and what it means for us. In Ephesians 2, Paul gives us the language. No longer foreigners and strangers. Fellow citizens. Members of the household. It turns out the journey from stranger to family isn't just a nice idea — it's the theological destination of everything God has been doing. And it's the framework for everything LifeSwitch is trying to do. This series is called Define the Relationship because you get to define it. But if we're going to move together - toward our mission, toward our vision, toward the kind of community we're called to be - we need a shared language to do it with. This week we find it.
Define the Relationship - Two Brothers (Week 1)
2026/06/21
In what I believe is the greatest story ever told we discover that Jesus wasn’t just telling a story about a son who came home. He was telling a story about two kinds of lostness, and a father who ran for both of them. Whether you’ve never set foot in a church or you’ve been here for years, this story has a place for you in it. The only question is which character you recognise yourself in.
NEXT - Will You Inconvenience Yourself? (Part 2)
2026/06/14
Seven ordinary people did what needed to be done in a moment of crisis — and it fuelled a movement that's still going almost 2000 years later. In this message, we walk through one of the most overlooked stories in Acts — a story about jail breaks, jealous priests, a food distribution problem, and a group of believers who simply said yes when something needed doing. We also unpack a few more of the convictions that shape everything we do for the next generation, including why we anchor our faith in the resurrection rather than just the Bible, and why our goal has never been to raise believers — but followers. This is the week we make the ask. Will you inconvenience yourself for something greater than yourself?
